All the doors close noisily, if left to swing shut they close with a bang that reverberates through the steel/concrete fabric of the building so ear plugs aren't much help either. It's a shame because otherwise the room was perfectly adequate, comfortable and reasonably priced.

The staff were brilliant and really helpful, the room it's self was lovely however the bathroom wasn't very well leaned the toilet wasn't flushed, there was a hair in the sink and smudge marks everywhere, the towel obviously also hadn't been cleaned very well either but we had brought our own towels anyway. Other than that the room and stay...

The maintenance; fittings, and decor were awful. I have never seen so bad conditions in a national chain hotel. Everything from lifts to bathroom decor was terrible. The only redeeming point was the staff who tried to please and were helpful.

Due to early start stayed overnight before long train journey. Prompt reception and room clean with very comfortable bed. Plenty of choice for an early breakfast with helpful and friendly staff. Booked in for night on return journey and found the late checkout time very helpful.

Big hotel with a soulless bar/restaurant, but the place feels safe and is kept clean and tidy. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are pretty big as well. Sure, it lacks the finesse of a more expensive place, but considering the location very close to Kings Cross Station, this is a very good value place to stay.

Staff courteous and helpful. Rooms clean. Hotel shabby, could do with a lick of paint. NO COLD WATER IN THE ROOM. Shower burned me and couldn't have a glass of water. Bought a bottle of water from fridge downstairs - it wasn't cold!!! Won't stay there again because of water issues.

Quite honestly, they should just tear this place down and start again. Probably the worst Travelodge I have ever stayed in. The room was awful, tired dirty. The bath and shower were just a joke and the bed, oh dear. The only redeeming feature were the staff who were helpful.

Terrible experience with uncomfortable mattresses and pillow poor working heater too compact a room for 2 persons worst wifi service ever no phone in room to talk to room service or reception. Once I asked for a hand towel which was never delivered to me. I'm never going back to this hotel ever again

What a terrible experience. Absolutely no cold water available in sink and shower tap. Changed rooms and still faced the same issue. No apology or acknowledgement of the issue. Towels smelled unpleasant, room smelled like sewage, and overall room and hotel facilities were filthy.

This hotel was in a good position for Kings Cross Station and within easy walking distance. We came into Heathrow got the metro and walked to the Hotel very good experience. Breakfast was good in the morning. Staff were quick and efficient.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
