54 Queen’s Gate is set in the heart of one of London’s most desirable postcodes, just a stone’s throw from the borders of Hyde Park in the midst of South Kensington. A Grade II Edwardian townhouse featuring 24 stunning bedrooms, a vibrant bar and private terrace, it offers a secluded and sophisticated base for those looking to explore one of the capital’s most historic neighbourhoods. Having benefitted from a substantial refurbishment in the first half of 2018, old flooring and plumbing, wall coverings, paint and plasterwork have been stripped out to make way for bespoke decoration, furniture and fittings. All materials have been hand-picked for their tactile and aesthetic qualities, with the highest standards of craftsmanship rigorously applied. Guestrooms have been decorated to invoke a diverse array of famous Londoners, especially those who have previously made SW7 and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea their home. We stayed here last night on a quick trip to London for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Nice room and bathroom, tastefully decorated. Breakfast was interesting - good range of cereal, juice, yogurt, cold meats etc. Hot food cooked to order but only eggs, bacon and sausage. Hubby ordered scrambled eggs, 2 sausages and 2 bacon. Was told he could have only one of each. The lack of tomatoes, mushrooms and beans made it look very anaemic. At £15 per person we feel it was overpriced for what we got. The mattress was very hard. The painted walls in the barhroom had condensation stains. The hotel is in a good location for Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park etc. All the staff we saw appeared to be new and not confident in dealing with clients.

Really lovely boutique hotel - quirky and modern. The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel and room was decorated beautifully and everything looked quite new. We stayed in a twin room and both commented on how it was one of the best rooms we've stayed in, despite having stayed at quite a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels in London. Breakfast was really good, with plenty of choice. Would definitely stay there again.

Finding a good hotel in London that will not cost you an arm and a leg, that isn't an easy feat. I really like the small and cozy ones that make you feel like you could just be in your own little apartment. This hotel achieved exactly that. The location is perfect in a side street off of Cromwell Rd right across from the Natural History Museum. Everything you need is in walking distance: Museums, Hyde Park, supermarkets, Harrod's, Tube stations...
The hotel is cute and comfy and the staff is very nice! In the morning you can take your breakfast in the little breakfast room, which is very recommendable. You don't have a huge buffet, but that is not needed, because you have the essentials like fresh toast, freshly baked croissants, jam and a nice cup of tea to start your morning.
We could deposit our luggage for about half a day even after checking out and later collected it to take the tube and leave for Heathrow.
I can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back. It's London, of course I will come back ;)

Hotel looks great when you get there and it's close to The Royal Albert Hall which was very handy for Ministry of Sound Classical. The lift was broken and we were on the top floor, and lots of things were shabby in the room.. lights that didn't work, parts missing from the coffee machine, cracked tiles and dirty shower screen. We were told on check in that we didn't need to book breakfast and could simply go to the breakfast room and it would be added to our bill on check out. Went to go for breakfast and were told we couldn't have it as we hadn't booked and the guy was no help really in advising us where we could go instead. Went to Urban Baristas down the road and had a lovely breakfast but then had to walk back to get our luggage and check out before walking back past again to the tube as we didn't want to keep going up and down the stairs due to no lift. We went for dinner and drinks in the Queen's Gate Hotel at 34 Queen's Gate and if I was in need of a room I think it's a better hotel with nice facilities to socialise in and would rather stay there.

What a fantastic little find this hotel was! A bit difficult to spot the first time since the signage is basically non-existent, but since the name is the address you just need to pay attention. Small & cozy, immaculately clean, friendly & helpful staff. Since it's so small, we were a bit concerned that there wouldn't be a lift for getting our luggage upstairs, & were pleasantly surprised that there was. The room was great... a bit on the small side, but exceedingly comfortable. Comfy bed, flattering light in the bathroom, extremely responsive A/C, & a fabulous shower! Breakfast downstairs was very convenient & graciously served, but I'd probably forego it next time since there was a great little pastry/coffee place just a few blocks away that cost way less. Location could not be beat! Close to the Underground & a stop for on/off bus, easy walking distance to Kensington Gardens/Palace/etc, great restaurants & more... this will be our home from now on when we get to London.

A fantastic, quiet hotel, very handy for The Royal Albert Hall. The staff made you feel like nothing was too much trouble, and they were very polite. The rooms were one of the cleanest I've experienced, and the air-con was fantastic on a very warm night. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel was happy to look after our bags on the day of our departure. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is in one of the best parts of Kensington just a short walk to the tube station, buses, restaurants, Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the appearance of the building and the area. This changed when we were shown to our room. It was on the lower ground very small, without a view from the window (only a brick wall) and most of all a smell of damp. We complained but a very polite staff member informed us that they were fully booked but would move us as a priority the next day. This they did and the room was delightful with all our luggage put in the room. Well done for acting on a customer’s complaint and look at room 5 for the damp smell.

The hotel is in a good location. Reception rooms were very nice. When checking in I advised I had VIP status on my booking which offers a free room upgrade if available. Was told hotel fully booked. Room we were given was in the basement and very cramped. (Seems they were giving us a downgrade). My husband complained and we were given a room on the second floor equally cramped but at least not in the basement. Breakfast availability is just continental and not suitable if you are gluten free intolerant.

My husband and I visited No.54 for a weekend getaway for my husband’s birthday. We chose this hotel due to the previous positive reviews.
The hotel is around a 5-10 minute walk from Gloucester Road Underground and the shops and restaurants on Gloucester Road. The hotel is directly opposite the natural history museum and within close proximity to the science and V&A museum.
All staff we met were friendly, professional, polite and helpful.
We stayed on the 3rd floor, which was accessed via 2 separate lifts. Our room was clean, bright and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing. There was a Nespresso coffee machine, which we struggled to operate. Perhaps some instructions could be supplied? Nevertheless there was a good selection of teas, coffee and bottled water which was replenished daily.
We had breakfast included, which was a mixture of an English and continental breakfast. All food was good quality and set us up for the day.
There is a small bar open to guests and the hotel also had a rear decked area which was lovely to enjoy a drink after a long day exploring London.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.

It was previously an older hotel and then maybe new owner and was completly renovated.
High quality interiors with attention to detail. This probably took a couple years since they completely gutted the previous structure and permits. So it hasn’t been reopened for more than a year I would guess. Also only 22 rooms so overall so not as many guests/reviews.
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
