Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a
cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.

If you are taking the Eurostar, you should be arriving at King's Cross St Pancras. From there, you can take the "Hammersmith & City" metro line and get off at Whitechapel station. It's about a 10 mins walk from there. However, you will have to walk through a few streets with lefts and right turns. So I recommend you print out a local map from Google and bring it with you. Or use Google Maps on your smartphone, provided you have mobile data service. If you are bringing many suitcases, then I would recommend you take a taxi. It will costs you around 20 English Pounds but saves you the hassle of riding public transportation while lugging around your suitcases.

I suggest that you follow the advice of Kay U and take the Heathrow Express to Paddington and onward using the underground to Whitechapel. If you book the Heathrow Express in advance and online there are some attractive savings to be made on the fare. Taking a taxi is an expensive and completely unecessary option.
