I have stayed at multiple hotels and can honestly say that I have had the best customer service from a receptionist named Zainab. She was happy, bubbly and kept a smile on her face even though we constantly asked for requests. She was very patient. Thank you Zainab :)

Hotel's Favorite
The reception staff were really welcoming and professional. And very kind with my 5 year old. The room was a good size for London and we had a good nights sleep. The breakfast is varied enough. Good coffee. Loved that there was also a coffee machine in the room. I think a couple of the reviews I have seen are unfair/ overly fussy as price v quality for London this is really a great and friendly small hotel. I would have no hesitation about recommending or staying here again. We loved it.

Dear Suzanne M It was a pleasure having you & your son staying with us.Your son certainly brightened up a dull evening when he walked in, with his cheeky smile & his ability to tell us how to spell his name correctly. I am pleased that you enjoyed the time that you spent with us & I hope that when you are next in London we can have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Mercure London Kensington. Take care Lisa Kearney General Manager

For £49 a night, in London, we really couldn’t complain about our stay. The rooms weren’t sound proof and you can hear the road and elevator but for the price we paid it was great. The staff were really accommodating and room was clean. Added bonus of a working fridge, iron and kettle.

Quite frankly from the moment we walked into the hotel we were made to feel like we didn't deserve to be there. The room itself was a disappointing and the underwhelming feeling of being back in 2001 hit us as soon as we opened the door. We were hoping for positive things from the £12.99 breakfast we had booked but i do not know why we even had high hopes, from awful service to poor food it was just a disaster, would not recommend to stay here even if your company were the ones paying.

As chains go, I probably spend more nights in Mercure's than any other hotel and this is the worst of them. It's cramped, shabby, noisy and the food isn't great. Despite the covid regulations, I didn't see another member of staff or guest wearing a mask but I did notice a rather sleazy chap getting far too close to the reception staff. Speaking of the receptionist, she was the one bright light in this otherwise gloomy establishment. Sorry I can't remember her name. The price / quality of the breakfast has been mentioned in other reviews and I can only confirm that it's as bad as they say. Save yourself a few quid and go to a coffee shop nearby instead. Oh, and when were you ever asked to PROVE your ID at check-in? I'm an Accor member and paid with a corporate card (both in my name). It was a surprise then to be asked for a driving licence or passport that they could photocopy... All in all, not what I expect from a Mercure. I'll stay at the Holiday Inn down the road in future.
