Getting there
Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Returning here after four years away was like seeing an old friend. There is real value here, given the excellent location in one of the better parts of the city, with good transport links; the rooms may not be huge but they are well- designed and work well for short stays. Beds are very comfortable (surely the most important consideration) and having a room with a bath was a real bonus for London. Coffee making facilities and fridges are also welcome. The staff here are a new generation but as welcoming, friendly and helpful as those we used to know. The only drawback is the heat; the rooms were baking on a winter's day and temperatures couldn't be adjusted; not so good for sleeping. A very good fan was produced quickly for us and a change of room offered but that's why I've gone for four not five stars.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend 3 nights at the Mercure London Hotel last weekend. Every member of staff, especially at the front desk bent over backwards to help us and advise us. Many many thanks for making us feel welcome. The room was a tad on the compact size and the walls lacked soundproofing, but at the price we paid and the amount of time you spend in the room over a busy weekend in London, these aspects are irrelevant, and should not spoil your experience. We also found the location perfect for us. Close to at least 3 tube stations, High St Ken and some of the best museums in the whole wide glorious world. Thanks again

Great location, but... Stayed for 2 nights and trully not impressed by room size and amenities. Chambermaid was loud early in the morning cleaning and chatting with a colleague. Place was clean, bed was comfortable however there was no space for us to turn in the room. Hear did not work, neither plugs in the walls, despite that we placed the card Into the outlet to activate it... Would I go there again? Not really.

I booked a conference room here on the basis of the lovely telephone conversation I had with Lababa. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the manager Lisa, who ensured that everything was exactly as I wanted it to be, and arranged for a complete change around in the training room to suit my specifications. The food we all received was absolutely delicious and the kitchen was really flexible about meeting our needs. I stayed in a Privilege room which contained everything I needed for a comfortable night away, and the room was spotless, containing a coffee machine, iron, robes, toiletries, complementary soft drinks in the fridge etc. A good buffet breakfast was included, and every member of staff was both helpful and friendly. I found the hotel very good value and would recommend it.

We arrived at this Accor hotel having strolled along from County Hall via the Army museum at Chelsea.
The booking in went okay but the smell of the room when we opened the door was over whelming - its fresh air that was needed NOT air conditioning OPEN the WINDOWS and let it in. We would have done it ourselves but the window would not open
It was obvious that the room had not been used for some time a sad draw back of Covid-19.
The room had a King size bed and a TV that needs urgent retuning or better still install a new tv they are as cheap as chips nowadays.
The bathroom was clean: just; more than we can say about the wall tiles. which either need a good clean or replacing.
The water pipe connected to the shower was letting out nearly as much water as the awful shower itself, if we had not moved the curtain fully round and held it in position we and the King size bed would be floating down Cromwell road. Yikes.
We have stayed at many Accor hotels but this was by far the poorest of them all which is sad as we enjoy staying in their hotels. Even the bathrobes had different named hotels on them.
A full refurbishment is required here if this hotel is to compete with the new Premier Inn and Travelodge super rooms which leaves this hotel amenities well behind and this room was supposed to be a Kings privilege room.
We don't pass comment on sleep quality as you either have a good nights sleep or you don't can't blame the hotel for that.
However, on the plus side its close to the museums and parks and is in a good location with nice staff. Shame about the accommodation.

Poor customer service, old, leaky, noisy, not looked after hotel. The “Priviledge’ room was quite small with no facilities to work, poor WiFi, you cannot receive any file. You cannot use high speed broadband as no connection in the room. The air conditioning is noisy and one cannot even open the window as they are sealed. Shower mixer tap leaking, tiny bath and to cap it all, got overcharge as well. Do not go, they don’t even respond to complaints Worth hotel I stayed in...

We stayed for 4 nights and found the location to be just right for us. Short walk to Gloucester Rd tube, big Sainsburys open all hours almost next door and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. The hotel was very clean and the staff very pleasant. Our only gripe would be that the room did not have much storage for two people staying for 4 nights in winter clothes - also no actual towel rails in the bathroom to hang wet towels on. But these are minor things which did not detract from our enjoyable stay. One night we were disturbed at 1 am by a group of adults talking and laughing loudly in the next room - they stopped and said sorry when we banged on the wall so I suspect that the walls must be very thin and that therefore we were just unlucky on that occasion as the other 3 nights were fine. The breakfast buffet was good but I would imagine that there could be pressure on tables when the hotel was full. All in all we would certainly use it again when in London.

We stayed in room 510 for 2 nights 27/28 December 2019, This room is quite small and extremely noisy all night due to what sounded like an air con unit running. The bathroom has a cracked sink a loose door handle and toilet seat should be obvious to cleaners to report these issues. Came back friday night to pungent smell from bathroom possibly from use of dirty cleaning cloths or mop, went to make a tea only to find no teabags, milk or biscuits, Both mornings woken by cleaners starting at 8-00am. not acceptable when you do not have to check out till 12-00pm.We have used Accor hotels several times and found this to be the worse one will not be using this one again. The only friendly staff were in the dining room at breakfast which we did find to be of quite reasonable quality. We think due to location and area of this hotel things should be a lot better.

This is billed as a four star hotel, so I was expecting something exceptional. It was good but there were some gaps. It was no better than a Premier Inn. The bedrooms are not well sound proofed. In the room I was first offered I could hear the people next door very clearly. When I mentioned this I was immediately offered a different room with no fuss. My bedroom was comfortable and exceptionally clean. As other people have said you cannot open the window. There was no sink plug in the bathroom, the shower head was not properly connected so that water sprayed over the floor, and there were no tumblers or other drinking glasses. The breakfast was ok, if a bit limited. The food included boiled eggs, but there were no egg cups or spoons to eat them with. I am used to doing without these things abroad but they are usual in England. I would also have preferred to eat breakfast without a television blaring away. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and attentive. I did not mention the egg cups or the television, but they dealt with everything I asked for.

This was singlehandedly the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. These pics were what we walked in on. I asked housekeeping to please come clean the room and she told me to go to the front desk. Front desk was incredibly unprofessional, didn’t do anything. I asked him to come see the room he told me he would “change the sheets”. The room was at least 80 degrees, smelt like mold and we weren’t offered our money back.
This place is a dump and I would NEVER book with this company again.

Dear PennStatePilot Thank you for leaving such a candid review following your recent stay with us. I am truly disappointed to hear that you were checked into a vacant room that had not been cleaned by one of the team. I am also sorry to hear how your concerns were handled when you raised them. Please contact me directly on lisa@lth-hotels.com when you can as I would like the opportunity to discuss this matter with you further. Take care Lisa Kearney General Manager

The hotel does not provide a shuttle. However, the tube (underground) takes less than 10 mins to get to Gloucester Road train station. The walk from there takes less than 5 mins.
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
