The hotel was poorly signposted to find, the rooms are very basic, no air conditioning. You only get half hour free wifi, you have to purchase it extra if you need it. The bathroom is very small and basic also a very tight squeeze.

Very close to the centre of city - perfect for a 1 night business trip Although breakfast is not provided, there are plenty of options nearby - it really wasn't missed. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will look to stay here again

We've been to travlodge bank London on Friday the 16th September and the manager (Chandell) and her assistant ( Nathan ) were really helpful and friendly as well as accommodating. They answered any questions we had and more and made us feel ever so comfortable. We all really look forward to coming back here in the near future after such... More

This travelodge is located both opposite and above a pub. On entering the room the noise from both of these places was unbearable. I explained to the guy on the counter that I was 8 months pregnant and asked whether he had any other rooms. Unfortunately the hotel was full but he assured me that the bars close at 9,... More

Stayed here over the bank holiday! So cheap and excellent location. Surrounding area was so quiet because you're in the central banking area. Right near tube stop. Right near pub. Room was not massive but adequate for our stay. Would definitely stay here again for location and prices etc.

No air conditioning and next to a very noisy construction site and wine bar, I was woken at 05:30 three mornings this week by trucks coming to the site and then constant banging from 07:30 onwards. In the evening lots of late night revellers making lots of noise in wine bar opposite. Take your ear plugs and don't bother going... More

We had a large booking for a wedding. Some family members had come the day before. The rooms were comfy, had e erything you needed. It was very hot but the staff had placed fans in all the rooms. The best part of the hotel was the staff. They really were excellent, checking in a large number was not easy.... More

The receptionist was lovely and responded positively to my request for a quiet room. The room faced the courtyard and was generally quiet except for when the barrels below the window were changed. It was a hot night and the room had no air-conditioning. The windows did open and there was a fan (not very effective as it was very... More

Decent. Good value for the location but wasn't cheap. Tap far too powerful for the tiny sink in bathroom. Soaked the floor every time. Apart from that everything as expected. Bit tight with the T-Bags.

Book this hotel only if you want to be woken by construction noise at 7.30 am with no respite until you leave. This was our experience on both Saturday and Sunday. The staff are professional, courteous and helpful but the noise and lack of air conditioning made our 2-night stay a nightmare.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
