As a frequent business traveller, it takes something different to raise my level of interest. Having struggled to find a hotel in budget for a single night, I saw the Rochester pop up and decided to have a look. My travel booking service listed the hotel near Trafalgar Square. I couldn't find it there so rang the Rochester to be... More

We had booked a triple room for ourselves and our son having stayed in the Grange Beauchamp before in a beautiful large room. This room was incredibly tiny and hot even in September. We had to have the window open and the drapes pulled back to allow for air flow. Tried to get our money back but the hotel said... More

Nice hotel, friendly staff and in a good location. The food was excellent. The bar is a little over priced, but the service and staff are excellent. I will stay here again and would recommend to others.

Booked three superior rooms, and paid for them up front. However upon check in, one of the rooms was not a superior, ie: it was tiny compared to the other two. The Kettle did not work and there was no bath, which was requested. We were told we were "upgraded" but this is just a guise to make us feel... More

I booked this place not with normal expectations only, considering the price range. But I can say I haven't stayed in a more terrible hotel. The only positive about the place was the location, then again there are lot of properties around there. Also the lobby looks OK. The sleep quality was terrible. The mattress was a mess and cant... I don't know why so many seem to find something to complain about, I can't find any major reason to. The outside of the hotel is very nice. The people at the desk are also very nice and helpful to boot. The room is small, but being I was there alone, that meant nothing. The price was only £70 (under... More

Some staff excellent, I.e. concierges, reception service in adjoining bar cafe, others were not justplain bad mannered. Beautiful furnishings but cleanliness poor, pulled back curtains and needed good clean. Bath shower needed renovation. Very archaic and not 4 star method of payment. Excellent restaurant bar and service and food. Unlikely to stay again in hotel

The hotel is in a fantastic location which is probably hard to better. The hotel reception small, which sets the tone for the hotel in general. Reception pleasant enough. My room allocated was on the 4th floor and a well room which didnt really bother me as I knew it would be quiet, which it was. Bathroom very shabby and... More

I booked a weekend stay here in August. I thought the price was very reasonable given the great location (walking distance from a lot of the major sights) and first impressions from the outside were also good. The staff were welcoming enough although I don't think anyone's first language was English. The room was a little small but very well... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
