This was my first trip to London and was not too sure about this hotel. It looked fine through reviews and their website. I walked in on day 1, it seemed smaller than online, but who cares, really? A quick check-in and on I go to my room, on the 4th floor, stepped into the elevators and was worried at...

This hotel is situated around a 5 minute walk away from Holborn tube station, allowing for great transport links all around London. From the outside it doesn't look amazing, but upon entering it is obvious the reception and dining area have been recently refurbished. We visit at least once a year and have stayed in several different hotels but there's always something that makes us keep looking. It's either location is too far out, beds not comfy enough, room too hot/cold, breakfast not up to scratch or no decent...

Not impressed at being told at 11.15 that the bar isn't serving even tho we are residents. Having been out for the evening thought we would return and have a drink in the hotel only to be refused. Could have gone elsewhere but thought it would be nice to finish the evening in the hotel . Big mistake.

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
