Detailed Reviews
We have stayed a couple of times now this time with my 6 year old nephew.
I absolutely love the Clermont. Victoria and will be my first choice when staying in London if in budget.
All the staff are really welcoming, friendly, and professional. Before you even get inside the porters are at the door asking to take your bags on inside for you. We arrived early and as we expected our room wasn’t ready. We stored our bags, when we returned our bags had automatically been brought ahead to our room. Just one of the many little things that made for a really pleasant stay. We had an issue with the flush on our toilet. Mentioned it on going to breakfast and it had already been repaired when we returned to the room 30 mins later.
The hotel has been modernised but kept beautiful original features. It feels and looks grand and luxurious but not stuffy or pretentious. I would have expected to pay more given the amenities and location. There are numerous small details such as iced water dispensers in the foyer, pleasant soap and hand moisturiser in bathrooms. In the restaurant you can rent power banks.
The breakfast is very good quality with everything you would expect with great coffee.
Our room was huge with a sofa bed for the little one which was a double. I tried it and would have had no trouble sleeping. It felt like a proper bed and not the usual awful sofa beds. Our bed was amazing I think a super king, was so comfortable and my husband wants to source the same pillows!
Location is great 10 mins maximum walk from Buckingham Palace. I think about 35 mins to Covent Garden etc. We usually walk most places when we stay. Even with the little one with us this time we still found most places walkable. If needed the tube station and other overland trains are directly below and the hotel has an entrance and exit directly into Victoria station. If flying into Gatwick it’s really convenient with direct rail services. Being above Victoria means there’s a few shops (M&S) and places to get food if needed. For anyone worried about noise the rooms are extremely well insulated we didn’t hear any noise at all and slept in each day until 8.30 when our alarm woke us.
The rooms also benefit from good air conditioning which was great returning to after the heat of the city. For reference we were in room 527. I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in London.

First time visit & had booked a Deluxe Room for my birthday weekend.
The architecture & decor of The Clermont, Victoria, is beautiful.
The hotel is right next to Victoria Station so perfect to get out & about … though we mostly walked as the weather was kind to us. It’s only a 5 minute stroll to Buckingham Palace & the lovely St James Park.
We arrived early morning so our room was understandably not ready but the concierge happily took our bags so we could go off & enjoy our day.
Returned to check in after 3pm & were told we’d been allocated a 6th floor room. Slight hitch as the lift to the 6th floor was out of order, luckily the other lift goes to the 5th floor so there were only two flights of stairs to tackle. Our bags had been taken up for us.
The room was bright, airy, spacious & spotlessly clean. There was a lovely welcome treat of some dainty cakes to wish me Happy Birthday - thank you 😊
Tea & coffee was provided along with biscuits, soft drinks & some sweeties … all complimentary 😊
The bathroom had an over bath shower which had good pressure & ample hot water … the toiletries provided were very pleasant.
As we’d had a busy first day we decided to have dinner in the stylish on site Soak restaurant … staff were friendly & welcoming, food was delicious as were the cocktails. We felt prices were very reasonable for central London.
After dinner we moved on to sample more cocktails in the Reunion Bar … again staff were very friendly & happily made recommendations.
The bed was big & comfortable with a choice of pillows. We had 2 very good night’s sleep - the room was dark & quiet.
Breakfast was plentiful with everything from pancakes to a full English. My partner requested poached eggs rather than the fried or scrambled on the buffet & these were brought out swiftly. Everything was fresh & delicious.
So glad we’ve found this hotel & will definitely be back soon.
Oh & as an added bonus they give a discount to Blue Light Cardholders 😊

My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Clermont Victoria. It was a beautiful hotel and the staff so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, the king bed was very comfortable and they always refilled the small fridge with a couple of water bottles everyday, that was very nice, you can have still or sparkling! The location is great and we walked to many places and the bus stop was right out front and the train station around the corner. The dinner we had at The Soak was very good! We also at at Harry's across the street which was a great dinner also. We are from Chicago and had booked this trip so long ago we didn't even know the Bears were playing there the same weekend we were there, too bad we had to leave on Saturday. The bar on the corner had a big Bears party on Friday night and we didn't even know that. We truly enjoyed London and would definitely return as we didn't have time to see everything.

With some reservations, the hotel is worth the relatively low price. We arrived early in the morning and were able to leave our luggage safely. The lobby is more reminiscent of a train station, with non-hotel guests coming and going in the entrances for photo shoots. The room we were later assigned was directly above the canopy with a battery of air conditioning and ventilation units that were very loud at different frequencies. After some frowning at reception, I asked to change rooms and was moved to a room with no view at all, because more than the lower half of the windows were covered with foil (because the view outside was even less attractive than the view through the foil). The breakfast room is cramped, the selection is not excessive but sufficient. We were negatively struck by the staff entering the room while we were away despite the 'do not disturb' sign. They put more blankets on our bed without asking. The cleaning team also 'put away' our belongings the next day in an unusual way. The rather expensive high tea in the afternoon (with reservation) is served in a very nice room, but it is the ceremony rather than the taste of the sandwiches that remains in the memory.

From start to finish, our 10 night stay at The Clermont/Victoria was an absolute joy. The service was truly extraordinary with special mention and gratitude to Gerald Francis (Manager), Rachelle Morganti, (Front End Manager) Elison, (Manager of The Soak), Mohammed (Breakfast Manager) and Theo, ever kind, ever helpful doorman. The atmosphere of this architecturally splendid hotel with its soaring ceilings, plenty of imposing pillars and gilt galore, is surprisingly warm and intimate. This conundrum has everything to do with those who run the place with such proficiency, graciousness and care and who view their guests as deserving of every possible attention. The rooms, which are spotless and spacious, have mini bars restocked each day with free snacks, soft drinks, water, beer etc. The beds are extremely comfortable and there are always plenty of fresh towels.
Breakfast is a feast for the eyes and palate, as is the lovely, typically English afternoon tea, served in its own designated, beautifully decorated space.
The location is perfect, adjoining Victoria Station by an internal, connecting door and just a few moments walk away from the glory of Buckingham Palace.
This hotel is one of many I have stayed in on my frequent overseas trips. It warrants the accolade of being one of the very best.

We came into Victoria (from Gatwick) so the location could not be more convenient, also there's a bus stop right outside the door. Public spaces are majestic - very festive this time of year. There's a nice quietish area to sit and work on the Mezzanine level. "Reunion" bar is marvelous, great selection, friendly staff and generous pours. Our sleeping room was small, but very comfortable (good pillows; bed linens and towels were very nice). Bathtub was hard to navigate but walk-in showers are also available - ask when you book. Highly recommend!

This was our return visit to The Clermont Victoria having stayed there last year for our honeymoon. We were remembered and were welcomed to our room with a gorgeous card and plate of sweet treats.
The room over looked Victoria station with views of Victoria Palace Theatre, yet we had no noise disturbance.
Further to this our nights sleep was also excellent. The hotel offers bespoke pillows upon request, and being 5 months pregnant I made the most of their maternity pillow and haven’t slept that well in weeks!
We enjoyed supper at The Soak in the evening. My husband chose 3 dishes from their Ping Pong menu whilst I had their asparagus and pea risotto with grilled chicken. The portion was huge but so delicious that together we finished it.
In the morning we enjoyed a peaceful breakfast. Last year I recall the staff going above and beyond making porridge for my husband which is not advertised on the buffet, but this year we enjoyed what was on display. It’s a tricky thing to keep scrambled eggs the right consistency whilst on a buffet but The Clermont managed it! They were simply scrummy!
We will 100% be returning this time next year to celebrate our anniversary once more, but this time with a little person with us. Having seen a baby at breakfast I’m confident children are welcomed and catered for.

Located in a convenient and well connected location, this hotel provides rooms at a reasonable price considering the size and perks (such as the included minibar) that really makes a difference. The staff are professional and friendly. A highly rated hotel which I plan to return to.

For me, the hospitality industry is all about delivering a seamless customer service experience. This is definitely not what we received at The Clermont Victoria. It seems that the management had a difficult time to understand that one bad customer experience can have an immense impact on the reputation of the hotel, and consequently on the lost of potential guests coming back to the property. After staying 7 nights and spending $2773.00 on BB (Bed and breakfast only), we checked out very dissatisfied, and we have no desire to come back.
We booked a Deluxe King Room (#419). The room was fine; on a smaller side and the bathroom can’t accommodate more than one person at the time. This is not a problem, we are used to the centre London accommodations and space is definitely a hot commodity. What I don’t accept, is the room not to be cleaned and the amenities not to be daily restock if needed. I like to have a tissue box by the bed on the night stand. For 3 days the tissues box was empty. The breakfast selection was the same during our entire stay. Eggs, bacon (Not attractive), beans, hash brown, tomatoes and tasteless sausages (Disgusting) at the same position everyday. The only person who greeted us was Mr. Mohamed, a lovely gentlemen at the hostess stand, the rest of the staff totally ignored us. You seat yourself down, you got get your own coffee and food (Buffet). No one come and talk to you, if you want a refill on your juices or coffee. No one ask you if you enjoyed your meal or need anything else. The staff is gathering in the corner of the room, chitchatting among them and having a good time. Some have their hands in their pockets, and when they see your dirty plates pilling up on your table, they will come and remove them…nothing else. On our way out, no “Have a nice day wishes” or just a simple “Thank you” waiting for you. Pathetic isn’t it?
On the third day, we started to be seriously annoyed by the lack of professionalism of the staff that we asked to meet the hotel manager. We left our request and contact details to the front office but unfortunately the manager refused to meet us. No one made an attempt to see us. 4 more days passed by and still no news from the hotel manager. We were totally ignored. It is always important to know the point of view of the guest and know their side of the story. Best resolution can only be achieved by listening to and understanding the guests’ complaints. They missed the opportunity to turn our complaint and use the feedback to improve the overall customer experience of others. They should know that for every individual who complains, they might be a hundred who remain silent. Always act on the feedback of your dissatisfied guests to improve your service. The management of the Clermont decided otherwise.

Stayed at the Clermont a few days ago for on overnight stay whilst we were visiting London to take in the Tim Burton Exhibition at the Design Museum, and Wicked show at the Apollo for our Daughters 25th Birthday. From the minute we arrived at the hotel we felt at home and nothing was too much trouble for the team at the Clermont. We received excellent guest services from both Iggy during our check-in with the questions we had, and Sam with our late check-out and baggage storage requests (thank you both) to the team in the breakfast lounge (what an amazing choice of breakfast options), the service was professional, kind and accommodating throughout our stay. We had booked two classic rooms for our stay (these were on the 6th floor) and both were very comfortable and had all the amenities needed including an ironing board and iron which I hadn't spotted on the amenities list when I booked. The rooms were well insulated from any noise from Victoria station and the streets which meant we had a blissful nights sleep in the king size beds. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. We had a wonderful meal in the Soak Restaurant attached to the Hotel (do book in advance) and well worth a visit as the atmosphere, food, cocktails and service were also excellent without being pretentious. As others have said, we also found the central location of the hotel to be perfect for our needs during our stay. A heartfelt thank you from our family to the entire team at the Clermont for making our visit that bit more special.
