Sat outside as per the rules. A couple sat at the next table but kept moving until they finally settled. Also, noticed the staff don’t sanitise the outside tables after each use. Not good. They just put the chairs up against the tables after each use. Pointless. Until they improve their covid-secure procedures, won’t be coming back for some time. Also no heaters outside.
I mean't to review this hotel months ago before lockdown! We have stayed there twice and all the staff are so kind and helpful and always went that extra mile. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable and it's great value for money. The food is great and the bar is clean and tidy. There is a lovely back sitting room for quieter chats or informal meetings. The location is good, with the train station just across the road, West Ealing shops and Waitrose round the corner and a very short drive or bus ride into Ealing Broadway. There is also parking at the back of hotel. Also it was such a long time ago I don't have any photos, sorry.
I picked the Drayton for a stay in London with friends due to its good reviews and boutique rooms. My first room was shabby, dust all over the curtains, broken discoloured lampshades, ripped wallpaper etc. I informed reception and was moved and upgraded. The new room was better but still a level of being a bit run down, like jewels missing from the mirror in the bathroom etc. I decided to stay on a further night and was given a different room. The new room was even worse than the first, but by this point I just accepted it as a place to lay my head before a long journey! The lampshade was broken, stains and drawings on the walls, a huge brown stain on the carpet. It just wasn't pleasant. I didn't complain further but it does appear I was given a very run down room! They obviously know the state of their rooms. The whole hotel simply lacks investments from fullers. It's very evident. It's tired..in some places dirty and sadly a bit run down. I'm sure it was great when it was first refurbished. But honestly, I wish I'd booked a premier inn and saved some cash and had a nice clean and tidy room. The staff are good in general, but it's evident Fullers expect one person to do many jobs. This leaves a hole at reception sometimes and customers left waiting. Breakfast is average and evening meals too. It's convenient but you can find better with a quick stroll. A pretty average stay really, fullers need to invest in maintenance clearly! And moreover, to have a room that was pretty grotty on the last night was a sad end to my trip away, so I can't recommend. Drayton..why give people unclean and unkept rooms if you have rooms that are in better shape??? …
Pictures make it look beautiful, once upon a time it obviously did but needs work. Wobbly toilet seat, cracked tiles in bathroom, hot water in the shower is too hot. Comfy bed but only one pillow per person with no spares. Breakfast was nice but the order was wrong to start with and drinks were forgotten about. Staff were lovely but the Hotel didn't quite deliver.
We stayed at the Drayton Hotel for the weekend to sightsee in London. We got there early and managed to get a parking space at the back of the hotel. Less than 5minutes walk to the train station which was so handy. Lovely staff they were all so polite and helpful. The Food was delicious and could not fault it. We stayed in the Lavender Hill Mob suite and it was everything we wanted and more. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend and will be returning again soon. Would highly recommend
