We had a two night stay here as we were attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I'd paid for the trip as a birthday present for my boyfriend. The receptionists were friendly (although there was one very stressful mix-up/ordeal re: parking which led to us being refunded around £80). The room was very small, as was the bathroom...

A welcoming arrival from the reception staff and a very large family room and bathroom. The only issue we had was our room was above a courtyard which produced a constant loud humming noise all night, like a generator or similar and when we checked out we were not asked if our stay was acceptable! Some of the fixtures and...

I booked two club rooms for 4 ladies attending a performance at the Royal Albert Hall which is just a few minutes walk away. Room 206 has a tiny inadequate bathroom which wasn't what I expected for a club room. Single beds pushed together as so little room either side - whilst I'm very find of my girlfriend I don't...

My husband and I stayed at the Queen's Gate Hotel for his birthday between 19th until 21st December. We live in Dubai and landed very early. The reception staff were very accommodating and let us check in as soon as we arrived which was 5 hours before we should have. The breakfast was lovely every morning and everything we needed....

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway and was not disappointed. The hotel itself looks very grand and has very nice decor. The bar is fairly small but very comfortable. Rooms are clean, comfortable and staff were all very friendly and helpful. They had no problems keeping our bags after checkout so we could have another day in...

This is like many central London hotels: nice expensively fitted out lobby, period facade but basic fixtures and fittings in small rooms. Breakfast was in the basement and simple and basic. The location is great for the museums and Royal Albert Hall, but we stayed at a Premier Inn the night after and it was far superior and cheaper.

If you want to stay overnight to visit the Museums and/or the Royal Albert Hall, this is well recommended for a reasonable price. It is just over 5 minutes walk from the underground, the museums and the Hall. There are lots of pubs/bars/restaurants nearby. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The hotel has a bar with light meals available....

Great hotel if you are shopping at Harrods or visiting the museums. We had booked as we were attending the Royal Albert Hall for the Christmas carols - the hotel is just round the corner and no more than 2 or 3 minutes walk away. So convenient. All the staff we met at the hotel were very friendly and efficient...

The first feeling you get when you arrive at The Queen's Gate is the warm atmosphere and the elegant vibes of the Victorian design. The next thing that positively surprises you is the helpful, smiling staff! A special thank you to Vangelis who welcomed us and made sure we settled in our rooms immediately as we had a business meeting...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
