Detailed Reviews
The very quiet location behind Harrod's cannot be beat; the room was nicely decorated and well-priced by London standards; the breakfast included in the room rate outstanding. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

I loved this place SO much!!
As a couple, my husband and I have stayed at most of 5* hotels in London. We always head for contemporary hotels like The Sanderson and The Metropolitan.
This trip was different, we were bringing our two boys aged 6 and 11. We wanted to be centrally located, have a suite or two rooms and all on a budget of less than £200.
I found Searcy's by chance on Late Rooms at the last moment (I was just about to book the Hilton Metropole as no other hotel would offer us a large/suite room at the right price).
We felt smug at Searcy's. My kids even bounded out of the back door of Harrods counting their leaps to the door (30 big ones if you jump and run!).
Searcy's is like nothing else. You get let in from the street via an elevator (see other reviews) and you are greeted by the nicest manager ever (he even called before we left home to let us know we could check in 3 hours early as the room was ready and to ask if we had any specific room requirements!).
The rooms are clean yet rather worn but this gave them a feeling of comfort. It is hard to explain but when you are so close to the chaos of Harvey Nics (60 jumps!), Sloane St and Harrods, having an escapism like Searsy's is a truly wonderful thing.
The manager had even brought in his Star Wars DVD boxset for my boys so they had something to watch, which was so kind! There is a roof garden too and you can step out and get air whenever you fancy.
Breakfast was amazing and arrived to the minute.
I did, like another reviewer, hear some jazz tunes from downstairs but they were wonderful! It was all quiet when we returned at 10pm, so all was fine.
Have to recommend Harvey Nics 5th floor for lunch (crayons and colouring for kids) and Frankie's, which is the new restaurant by Marco Pierre White and Frankie Detori. It is a huge disco ball, glass walled Italian grill which is child friendly and fabulous. Oh, and that is about 70 jumps!!
We loved this place, we will be back and again get to feel smug being so central yet so comfy!!
Thank you xxx

Dear Madam, Thank you very much for your kind words about us. They are trully apreciated. After you have stayed we have actually decided to keep a few DVDs at reception permanantly so whenever a family with children visits we offer them. I am very aware of any noise coming from downstairs and for the last year or so we try to not place anyone who is not connected to an event in a room where music could be heard. I hope to be able to do something about the rooms being worn as well. I hope to welcome you back in the future. Regards, Dimitrios Neofitidis Searcys Roof Garden Rooms

We had real problems booking a hotel for mid-week end of July - right in the midst of the Tourist Season. This was one of the only available hotels.
Great location behind Harrods and walking distance to Hyde Park/Museums - though I walked directly into the Centre. Right next to an NCP carpark - £44 for a day ouch but you would only go into London by car if your were English (and claiming expenses).
Odd set up. Access by a lift. The few public areas could do with a paint but the guest room was really great with aircon (36C that day). Nice roof garden for breakfast otherwise it is brought to your room.
We got it for £120 through [-] including breakfast. On my shortlist of preferred hotels in London.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your review. Your comments were taken onboard. All public areas and most of the rooms have been repainted. I was waiting for August to have the work completed. Should you decide to come back i always promise you the same discounted rate you paid originally. Regards, Dimitrios Neofitidis Searcys Roof Garden Rooms

This hotel is quite a find. It's in an excellent location which is convenient for walking to some of the best parts of London and it has excellent access to public transport. The hotel is a somewhat unpreposessing building - it looks like a warehouse - and the entrance is weird; access to reception is through a small locked door that exits into an ancient elevator cage. Reception is an office on the 4th floor. If it's confusing, then the staff are a buzzer away and really helpful, courteous and smiley. The room was large for London, with a huge bed with a canopy, a seating area, pleasant furnishings and an excellent and spacious bathroom with expensive toiletries. The check-in lady offered to deliver coffee or tea to the room when we arrived. Breakfast was excellent and is served on a roof terrace if the weather is good or in the bedroom if desired. I don't think that there's a guest restaurant in the hotel as recommendations are provided to local eateries. This hotel is excellent value for money and really rather distinctive and charming. Book early though because it only has 10 rooms; the major part of the building being taken up by banqueting rooms. Overall, strongly recommended.

I really enjoyed my stay at Searcy's. The rooms represented great value for money, being both clean and comfortable and the location would be hard to beat. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. My friend and I arrived later than planned and there was no time to go out for lunch before getting ready to leave for our evening event. The hotel provided a light snack in our room at a moment's notice. I will certainly stay again. Thank you Dmitri and Iwona - it's good to know that hospitality is still alive and well.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you very much for your kind words. Both I and particularly Iwona were delighted to hear them. I have also noted that you weren’t completely happy with the rooms from the rating that you gave them. I am glad to say that we have just purchased new furniture for all bedrooms so hopefully it will make a big difference. I look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Basic Facts:
Place rents out rooms but its main function is catering. Yes, strange entry with a door straight into an elevator, but does it really matter? OK, not the place to stay in if you want a Concierge and all the trappings of a 5 star hotel, but then again, it's a different price range. The place has great rooms and great value for money, so when you combine that with a great breakfast and great location, what more do you want from a room in a city with generally poor quality hotels, small rooms, or super elegant hotels that are severely over-priced?
The double rooms run about 110-120 pounds a night including breakfast, check the exchange rate for dollar amounts (around double that amount?). The manager is a guy called Dmitri, very professional and accomodating. There is also the lovely Iwona who even waited for my Dad to come back when he had to change rooms because I made the reservation for him a bit short notice.
The only drawback is that the Hotel also rents out a hall for functions (it is situated in a nice but opaquely painted period building), so my Dad did mention that he heard piano bar sounds until midnight on ONE of the FOUR nights he stayed at the Hotel. However, he was upgraded to a suite when he had to change rooms, so we really have no business complaining and he was very happy with his 'ideal' 4 night stay. The rooms (no. 3 and the 'Blue Rooms') were clean, neatly furnished, supplied with bottled water and excellent bathroom products, and a la carte breakfast included in the cost, to be taken either on the roof garden or in your room.
My only suggestion to the management would be to add digital (cable) television so that guests can at least watch the news outside the highly restrictive public TV times (in the UK there are only 5 public TV channels!).

Dear Madam, Thank you for your kind words. They are very much appreciated and I will make sure to pass your comments on to Iwona. We generally try to place guests that are not related to the functions on the upper floors, hence so that they would not hear any noise from our functions. When your dad was moved he was a little bit unfortunate as we did not have any other rooms available at that time to switch him to. Satellite TV is next on the shopping list. We plan to install it and flat screen TVs throughout the building in January/February 2007. Once again thank you for your review. Regards, Dimitrios Neofitidis Roof Garden Rooms

From the the moment that you arrive you feel totally welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The bedroom was very comfortable and with everything that you could wish for - even the air conditioning was cool and silent. Breakfast was on time and delicious, especially the coffee. For anyone who wants to be truly cosseted in London - this is the place to come to. A home from home.

I arrived and was escorted to my room having been informed by the Manager that my room had been upgraded. What a pleasant way to commence a rapport!
The room was comfortable and clean and I particularly liked the comfortable bed.
I have stayed in a number of hotels recently in London and without a doubt Searcy's creates a different impression that leaves you feeling somewhat special.
Nothing was too much trouble and you can set a watch to the time they deliver your breakfast. I needed mine at 06:00 as I had to make a business trip quite early. I was well fed and relaxed as I started my day.
On my last day I enquired if I could purchase one of their lovely bath robes as a gift for my wife and it was given to me as a gift! She was delighted with it - Thank you for your kindness!
In summary, I have not stayed in such a pleasant 'hotel' before but I shall again given the opportunity. Thank you.
Kindest regards
Michael Denton.

Booked it on laterooms. If you can get a room here for circa 100 - 120 pounds then it is a bargain. 1 minute from Harrods, a top location. Quirky type place, you enter via a door that looks like its
a serving hatch but the welcome is genuine, warm and personal. The rooms are really nice and clean. Moulton Brown toiletries no less. Breakfast is very good and can be served on the roof terrace if weather allows.
Looking for something different to a mass chain/no service then this is the one

the lift is the elevator, it is small and basic and not reliable!!!
Hi Tammy, not sure if this helps, but it's like a victoria lift, with metal bars instead of the new lifts where you're in a metal box.
If you can get the train i would, but just having a look on just park for you over night it's about £45/£50 in the Knightsbridge area.
Hi - there is a lift from outside the property up to your room so that wouldn't be a problem. I think it would depend on the room whether or not a wheelchair would fit in but OK otherwise. Mine was small so only had a bath with hand held shower.
We always take the underground from Heathrow so no idea about prices for shuttles sorry.
