We had an excellent time at The Goring - from the lovely breakfasts in the morning to a wonderful afternoon tea and the daily surprise and delight that was finding Barbara reading a book or enjoying classical music after turndown, the service was absolutely exceptional. Every single person who works at The Goring goes out of their way to make you feel like a member of the family, and to ensure that your stay with them is as pleasant as possible. Everyone was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and kind, and each of their recommendations made our trip even better. Make sure to bring 1-2 international adapters with longer cords, even for some of the smaller rooms; the bathrooms are wonderfully large and updated and you can skip bringing most of your own toiletries. The dining room and afternoon tea are absolutely not to be missed! And make sure to treat yourself to a cocktail if you're heading out for dinner - the neighborhood is perfect if you're looking to shop and sight-see, and the wonderful staff will help you ship your purchases home if you don't want to check bags.

We stayed at The Goring earlier this week - a birthday present from my better half! Service from the outset was superb, with a warm welcome from the General Manager, wishing me 'Happy Birthday!' We stayed on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis, in a lovely room (99) overlooking the hotel's garden. A half bottle of champagne, provided courtesy of the hotel was there to greet us. There was also a jar of Goring raspberry jam and a small sheep (stuffed!). We were unsure as to whether they were 'freebies', and not wishing to be presumptuous by taking them (another Tripadvisor review suggests that they are 'freebies'), we left them in the room when we checked out. Prior to dinner, the bar had a very pleasant 'buzz'. Our dinner was excellent; so, too, breakfast. Overall, a fantastic experience. Of course, it was pricey, but what would one expect in staying at such a fine and classy hotel in Belgravia and adjacent to Buckingham Palace's back door?!! Thank you.

Dear 293nigelf, Thank you very much for this wonderful feedback. The team and I are delighted you enjoyed your special occasion visit to The Goring and hopefully you can visit again soon. "Barbarah", the sheep and the home made jam are small gifts from the hotel to each of our resident guests and if you let me have your address we will stick the two in the post to you to enjoy at home. Thank you for your support and with warmest regards, Michael

A wonderful charming hotel. We stayed for a romantic staycation and as we live in London it certainly feels decadent to stay in a hotel in our hometown. The hotel is beautiful yet small. As a privately owned hotel it definitely has a more personal feel to it than the more corporate hotels in this price bracket. There is a fine line between twee/chintzy and traditional and the Goring navigates it well with Fromental wallpapers and well designed interiors. We stayed in a Deluxe Garden View room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. As befits a London hotel the rooms are pretty small and the bathrooms also. The ‘garden’ is very overlooked by office buildings and surrounding private residences and so we felt a little foolish breakfasting on our balcony but appreciated some greenery in a very built up part of town. The bar area is delightful and well attended. The front desk staff also very helpful and friendly. We certainly will return as we like the small intimate hotel with true 5 star service and immaculate interiors.

We had drinks in the bar and then dinner with the family. The Goring epitomises class and luxury and manages to achieve this without being ‘stuffy’. Attentive but not intrusive service and smiling staff all over the place! Fabulous food befitting any special occasion served in their splendid dining room. It is an all-round first class hospitality venue where the staff genuinely want to offer exemplary service. A real treat! The Goring continues setting London’s benchmark for fine dining. Enjoy!
