We stayed several nights twice - beginning and end of long UK trip. The concierges ( Patrick and Aaron) were very friendly and helpful in arranging a countryside tour and making restaurant recommendations and reservations. The rooms and bathes were well appointed. Just a nice experience which we will repeat.

My husband and I were flying back from Croatia and had a one-night stay in London. I chose The Goring because of what I read here on tripadvisor. The reviews were correct! I have never had better service at a hotel, and the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a drink in the 2nd largest private garden in... More

Three of us went to celebrate a birthday and what better way to do this but to take afternoon Tea at this charming and well established hotel. It was wonderfully cool on arrival and we were shown to our seats in the Terrace. Beautiful table settings and china. Very busy for a Wednesday afternoon. The service was excellent and the... More

An amazing facility in a wonderful location. This was our first stay. We had connecting rooms with my children in one. The staff was simply the best I've ever encountered. They went out of their way to make sure everything was going well and paid particular attention to my kids.

I usually stayed at the Savoy during my regular once a year trip to London. This time, I have chosen to try two new hotels, the Goring and the Taj 51. More on the latter. But first the Goring. This is a family run traditional, quintessentially English hotel with a history of over a hundred years. It’s now I believed... More

Stayed in this hotel for close to a week last week. Hotel is in an excellent location, beautiful deco, attentive staff but I found a bit of uppityness and pretentiousness more often than not. Breakfast is superb and so was restaurant staff. Personal Butler service is to be emulated - classy

With great expectations for an “impeccably English” experience we booked the Goring for 4 nights. I was a little hesitant because of the “Royal” connection and the concern that it may be merely an “attraction.” But, after reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to give a try. I left sadly disappointed in my decision. The hotel itself is absolutely... More

We visited The Goring at the end of our trip - making it the 6th hotel we stayed in. We had stayed at other intimate 5 star hotels, castle hotels, manor houses, etc. In sum, wonderful properties. Yet we were "wowed" by The Goring. From the second we arrived, the doorman met us at our cab & helped us get... More

The goring is a very beautiful, luxury hotel in a great location. It's less than five minutes walk from Victoria Station. All the staff were really polite and helpful, the rooms were well decorated and very clean, the bathroom as well. The area of the bar, with an excellent garden view was also very nice. The only cons, in my... More

A relatively small hotel, compared to other of same kind but it was really a pleasure staying. However the price of the deluxe room was quite high and the room itself was more like a standard yet luxurious double room. The staff was really kind, pleasant and efficient, as it should be in such a hotel. The bar area was very... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
