Room 8 where we stayed is a small (35 cm between foot of the bed and the wall) basement room. the room was clean, but the bare tile floor was cold. Shampoo and bath gel, but no soap! Charmless. On a nice residential street on the outskirts of Notting Hill. Decent breakfast buffet.

The New Linden is in a good location, close to the tube with plenty of shops and pubs in close proximity. The rooms were kept clean and the linen of good quality and changed regulary. The rooms however, are really small and the the central heating too hot. A plus is that you could open the windows in let in... More

I stayed at the New Linden for one night just before Xmas. I was given a deluxe suite and my daughters were in a standard room. The hotel has been fully renovated recently and on the 1st floor the room still smelt of paint but this was very quickly dispersed by opening the huge sash windows (that opened onto a... More

Our flight was delayed causing us to miss our first night at this hotel. Although we called in advance and let them know and alerted hotels.com (our booking agent), the hotel contended since they gave us our key when we arrived the next morning that counted as an overnight stay and we should be fully charged. Aside from all that,... More

Sadly we never made it to the hotel because of a illness in the family and had to cancel the room with 48 hours notice. The hotel charged us full rate for the room and were not willing to negoitiate or even consider any form of credit voucher or reduced cancellation charge. Disappointing particuarly as the large hotel chain nearby... More

Great value accomodations in aanexcellent Nottinghill location! Amazingly helpful staff made the stay seem like 4 star accomodations. ooms definitely European in size (note to Americans expecting Embassy Suite size rooms), but the value for a clean room in a great London location cannot be beat. Dining and shopping in this neighborhood are such that it will be hard to... More

I stayed at this hotel with my parents and my sister and our partners when we celebrated my dads birthday. Despite booking 3 months in advance, the best rooms they could come up with were two tiny rooms in the basement for my sister and I. My parents had booked a suite, but were given a room that was nothing... More

I decided to stay at this hotel on my trip to London for the WTM and I must say that its location, service etc was ideal for what I was looking for. The rooms are just the right size. The only think I would advise to change a little bit are the items offered for breakfast. Maybe its better to... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
