If one wants a decent place at a decent price to stay while doing the London tourist bit, the Dawson House fills the bill. It's in a lovely neighborhood just minutes walk from the Finchley Station which provides two lines connecting to any place one might want to be in huge London. Nice staff, nice breakfast to start the day.... More

A stylish hotel, situated in a quiet, stately quarter of London (Camden / Hampstead). Nearest bus stop only a few footsteps away. Nearest metro station (Finchley Road - 2 lines) is only a 5 minutes walk and takes you within 15 minutes to the heart of London. The hotel rooms are clean and equipped with good beds. The decoration of... More

I was a little nervous about the Dawson House, having found it online and not knowing the area it was in. However, I found it to be a terrific little hotel, reasonably priced, with an easy walk to the Tube. My single room, though small, was not claustraphobic. There are high ceilings and large windows. My room included a closet... More

I spent days searching the net for reasonble hotels to stay for our trip to London. With a family of 4 it is not an easy task to find "family rooms" that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 smaller children -- most hotels are suited to 2 people. As well, the strength of the British Pound made many hotels ridiculously... More

We spent a week at the Dawson House Hotel while in town. We chose it because of its location-- we could easily commute to Brunel University during the day, and commute in to London central at night. However, our stay there was VERY unpleasant. The problem is that its not a hotel at all. The place is clearly the owners... More

I am in America and I emailed my credit card number for a deposit on a reservation that I had made and the hotel quickly charged my account for one night's visit - as expected. I ended up having to cancel the reservation (within the required timeline) and was told that the Dawson House will not refund any of my... More

We stayed here for seven nights (June 27th-July 4th) and can easily state that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dawson House Hotel. The rooms were very quaint and welcoming. In fact, we found the overall interior of the hotel, including our room, to be serenely charming and unique. Being quite picky about cleanliness, I must say that we... More

We have recently returned from a 3-night stay at the Dawson House Hotel in London. We found it to be excellent value for money. We stayed in a family room &, as far as London sizes go, it is more than adequate. However, the ' bathroom' is ludicrous. It is possible to sit on the seat of the toilet while... More

We just returned from 5 nights at the Dawson House Hotel. The location is good (about a 10 minute pleasant walk from a Tube station) and the rooms adequate. What really shines about this place is the friendly and helpful staff and the huge and yummy breakfast! Not to mention the low price (especially for London). The bathrooms in the... More

I shared the Twin Room at the top of the second floor with my friend for nine nights in early April 2006. The location was perfect for visiting my daughter in nearby Hampstead, yet we were no more than twenty minutes by Tube to many of the sites. We were very happy with the rate of 66.5 GBP a night...
