Staff is super friendly and helpful- got a discount on my first meal in town thanks to them! The facilities are definitely clean and they're really good at maintenance as the toilet across from my room was clogged when I went to sleep and fixed the next (early!) morning. Only reason it's not a 5/5 is that the facilities, while... More

Had an excellent stay here for a week. Good service and friendly staff. Nice mellow atmosphere. Located next to the british museum, this is a good starting-point for getting around town. Can definitely recommend this hostel.

This is an excellent hostel! The staff are very friendly and the rooms are quite spacious and all you need, really. We were in the annex building which was just a few blocks down the street, but it wasn't a big deal. Nice neighbourhood, close to the Tube station Holborn, and very central. Breakfast was only £1 (or more by... More

Don't bother looking for another hostel, this is the best in town!! It is super nice, just next to the British Musem (if you wanna be closer you'll have to sleep into Cleopatra's sarcophagus ;) next to underground and bus stops. The staff is super cool and welcoming (Medo is always here to put a smile on your face ;).... More

I stayed in the main building. Most of the staff was very friendly, especially Eleanor, Sophia, and Magali. They work long shifts at the main desk and seem to always be up for a chat if they aren't too busy. You can't check in until 2pm, but they will let you stash your bags in their locked room until then.... More

My boyfriend and I loved our stay! It is located right by the British Museum and is a short walk to a metro station. We loved being able to walk to the Soho and Covent Garden area. Also the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had to print and scan some paperwork for back home and they made sure... More

£95 for a private room which are located in another street. I was expecting at least a double bed but ended up with a bunk bed because of lack of space. Toilets blocked when we arrived. They ask £5 deposit for the key which mean you've got to wait in the morning to get them back. 10 am checkout, no... More

The hostel was pricey but then again that's London for you. It was clean, but bathroom facilities were limited. Food and drink are not allowed in the rooms. The wifi was good and the staff was friendly. The bunk beds were too short so if you were on the bottom bunk you couldn't sit properly on the bed. It is... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of the oldest low budget hotels in London, the Museum has been helping weary backpackers and travellers loosen up since 1977! The location of this hostel makes it one of the best value hostels in London central. Right in front of the British Museum guests can access Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Leicester Square in just 10 minutes. Definitely the best central London hostel.A cosy budget hostel split across two buildings near Russell Square, this low cost hotel doesn't feel much like it. With a recently renovated kitchen, new reception and revamped lounge. There are dozens of sights located so close to the hostel, and is best hostel to visit as much of London as you can take in! Otherwise stay indoors with your fellow residents and enjoy a good time in the kitchen or if weather permits on our small terrace. ... more   less
