The location is perfect for a few days in London. Easy to get to pretty much everywhere. The staff were helpful too, the amenities were satisfactory and the free breakfast was excellent for being free. One thing to note is that the WiFi doesn't work in most of the hostel, which is kind of a deal breaker in this day... More

Staff is very good. Old building with a terrible look inside. At least 3 people on my room got stolen. Astor museum hostel is a very unsafe place. If you wanna avoid problems avoid this place. Room was very dirty. Toilette was flooding and it is impossible to take a shower on this building.

I stayed in a 16 bed mixed dorm. The space of the room was good. The hostel has enough toilets to the amount of guests. I had forgot my charger in home and when I called to reception to ask where I could buy another one the girls went to look if they had on to lend to me. The... More

I have to start this review with the fact that you should be advised that they have multiple locations and, despite booking at one, you may be sent off to another which doesn't have any of the accommodations the main house has. It was dirty and out of the only two toilets it had in the building, only one could... More

The service is very good. All staff were super nice and helpful. The location is okay, just beside the British Museum. However it is located in the middle of three tube stations, so it's not super close to any station. The breakfast costs 1 euro per day and it goes to the charity. The price is not the cheapest but... I stayed here for one night, and the hostel had a number of positives and negatives. + rooms were clean and spacious + beds were clean + showers and bathrooms were moderately clean + kitchen had good facilities + 24 hour reception + "chill out" room with TV and computer + simple breakfast included (toast/spreads/cereal/milk/tea/coffee) for £1 + smoking courtyard... Location is very good, especially if you plan on going to the british museum. 10 minute walk from Leicester square area, <10mins from the Holborn tube on central line. People in the hostal are very friendly, its a nice mix of people from many locations worldwide. They will allow you to store your bags if you arrive early or leave... More

Convenient location right near the British Museum. A little pricey for what it was, but not too bad. Also a bit hard to find, especially at night. Free breakfast and everyone was quite nice. The room is very small, but does the job just fine.

The hostel may not be as large as a Genorator or a Wombats property, but it has a charm that you will never find at one of those. It's small and feels more like a home with lots of people in it. You meet so many people because of how small it is, but isn't that one of the best... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
