Detailed Reviews
This is a relatively inexpensive hotel in a very expensive neighborhood. Keep this in mind when creating your expectations. Like many of the nearby hotels, this is a converted row house. The rooms are very small with, in my case, the toilet and shower in two separate rooms down the hall. This is not a destination hotel, but is a great option if what you seek is a safe, clean place to sleep and use as a base for exploring London. The front desk is staffed 24/7 and I enjoyed my interactions with them.
The room had a comfortable bed and an adequate set of towels. (Americans, please note there was not a wash cloth included.) My room was on the third floor (4th floor to Americans) with no lift. The staircases and hallway were very narrow so hauling up my luggage was an adventure. I do not recommend this hotel for people with mobility issues. For me, I absolutely loved the fact that the double hung window fully opened, both top and bottom. My room also had a small fan which was a life saver during the warm weather happening while I was there.
There are many restaurants and shops with a wide variety of fare in the immediate neighborhood. King's Cross and St. Pancras stations are literally one-half block away.
To summarize, for those with minimal needs and expectations, this clean, safe and professionally run hotel is a good choice in an excellent location. If you want expensive luxury, try somewhere else.

Stayed here for two nights in May 2024. The room was exactly what we needed, clean, fresh, a very comfortable bed, had a good shower, and was so quiet, which is surprising because the location is right next to St Pancras and King's Cross, just off the north circular road. The reception is 24hrs, and the staff are friendly and approachable. It was easy to walk to local cafes or bars, and very well located for the tube to get further afield. Would 100% stay here again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because the rooms are quite small and there wasn't anywhere to put suitcases etc without climbing over them, but it was perfect for somewhere to put your head down for a comfortable night's sleep if you plan to be out and about during the day.

Dear Guest, Thank you for the valuable and kind words. It makes us really proud to know that you had a GREAT STAY with CLEAN, COMFORTABLE accommodation together with a FRIENDLY, APPROACHABLE service. As you mentioned, the Alhambra Hotel is well located, with Kings Cross Station and St Pancras International just across the road. Unfortunately, having a Great Location means limited space but rooms are bright and compact. We hope to see you again another time. Kind Regards Hotel Manager

The room was tiny but extremely well laid out and most important the beds were very comfortable. We could see some trees from our room and left our window slightly ajar to hear the bird song. The room was spotless but we had difficulty with the shower and no face cloths made washing up a bit interesting. Very peaceful stay and location perfect for us because we could really safely wander the neighborhood. Would love to come back!

Overall we had an ok experience, and might consider staying here again in future if we're on a tight budget. The hotel is perfect location wise, being only a few minutes walk from King's Cross train station, which was ideal for us when we went in August. The stairway to get up to the 3rd floor on which our room was was quite narrow, so just be aware if you have larger luggage that you might struggle. The room itself was nice and clean, but the bed definitely was not a double size as advertised. I have a double at home, and it was definitely smaller. Struggled to fit 2 adults in it lying next to each other, made for a pretty uncomfortable night's sleep. It was very warm both nights that we stayed, so they would definitely benefit from having a fan in the room or on the wall somewhere. There is a small sink in the room, but the water pressure from the tap was hardly enough to wash toothpaste down so was pretty useless. The shared bathroom facilities were nice and clean, but the toilet was extremely small and cramped. Not much room at all to sit down comfortably. Security was very good, with a key to get into the main entrance and a fob to open the YALE lock on the door to the room. Reception is also available 24/7 which is a good perk. This hotel offered a very competitive rate compared to the majority of others within the area, and we managed to get a good deal for the 2 nights that we stayed.

I left my phone charger and double adaptor on the desk plugged into the wall. Careless! In many hotels, this would have been the end. Housekeeping handed it in and reception answered my question whether they have it with 'yes we have it and we can mail it to you'. It arrived in Australia in a padded post bag two weeks later. 5/5 for customer response and customer service. Much appreciated.

This nice little hotel is situated directly across from Kings Cross, so for most visitors, it's a mere five minutes walk from the train to the hotel. I prefer to stay around the Kings Cross stroke Bloomsbury area which I have on many occasions as I find it a great base for striking out on the tourist trail, with Kings Cross being handy for the buses and tube.
I looked on Trip Advisor and found this nice little hotel, which was very reasonably priced and opted to share toileting facilities, I was not expecting much and after reading some of the reviews on here I began to regret my booking, but I have got to say here and now and without fear of contradiction that this little hotel as far exceeded my expectations. Clean, in fact, spotless so, quiet, friendly staff, no complaints at all. Also, I could have up-rated my room for twenty quid a night extra, but I elected to stick with my original booking.
To recap it irks me to say this because I would like to keep this nice little hotel a secret to popularise thus may lead to me having no room at the inn next time I re-book because I would definitely stay here again and I, therefore, award the Alhambra top marks. Nice little hotel that has not disappointed this guest.P.S I'm still here and enjoying it.

I normally stay at a friends house when I visit London, however, with the tube strikes affecting travel, I decided to stay in a hotel.
From start to finish, this was a really pleasant experience. The check in at reception was friendly and smooth (I like the opal fruits on the counter!) and my bedroom/bathroom was clean. It provided just want I wanted - close to Euston station and walking distance to where I needed to get to. Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room were a welcome addition. The cost of the room was roughly ÂŁ130 and taking in the fact that normally I'd have spent ÂŁ50-60 on Uber's if not staying central, it was worth the money. It also meant I could leave my luggage at the hotel and not carry it around everywhere.
I would definitely stay here again.

A good hotel, good value for money by London standards, with small apartments spread over several buildings right next to King's Cross, St Pancras stations. Friendly staff. Unfortunately there was no lift in our building, so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. Breakfast can be collected from reception with tray at a fair price (this consists of various pre-packed items). Kettle and ingredients for tea and coffee are in the room.
The only negative point was the very loud sounding water pipes as soon as a shower was taken in the next room (the sound resembled bubbling air bubbles in the pipe).

I stayed here 2 nights in early June. It was the perfect location for the tube to visit London and for us to be able to ride trains internationally. The room was clean and well stocked, however it was VERY small. I couldn’t find any place to open my full sized suitcase except on the bed or in the way on the floor. You could hear door rooms opening/closing loudly, and the rumble of trains. I guess it all depends on what is most important to you. Convenience and cleanliness was there. Space and quiet - not so much.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience with others on TripAdvisor. We are pleased you had a positive experience with a CLEAN ROOM and CONVENIENT LOCATION. Due to its second to none location, the rooms are not large but this is a normal pattern in the centre of London. We do hope you give us another try in the near future. Kind Regards Hotel manager

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The property offers a free luggage storage service both before and after check-in and Check-out (very convenient) and the reception is open 24 hours a day. Our room was clean and the spaces were acceptable (perhaps the bathroom a bit cramped). We found the bed a little short.
In the main corridor there was a strong stench, but in the room fortunately you could not hear it.
Finally, the room is quite soundproof although we could hear the neighbors coming home and some noise from upstairs (nothing excessive anyway).
The location of the hotel is great, 2 steps from the metro and train station.

I dont know, sorry
Some rooms en-suite - these are the only ones we have stayed in. Others have shared bathroom- possibly between 2 rooms.
Hi there, my double room was very clean with a comfortable bed and a private bathroom. However, the room is quite small and the bathroom will be a very small shower room. I knew to expect this, so it wasn't a problem. Location, cost and breakfast made it acceptable for a trip to London.
