Hilton London Paddington has the advantage of being directly connected to Paddington Station by footbridge. We are just 15 minutes from Heathrow airport via the Heathrow Express and have 5 London Underground lines on our doorstep — Circle, Hammersmith and City, District, Bakerloo and Elizabeth Line. From shows in the West End to shopping on Oxford Street, there is nothing is too far away from our hotel. There is a fitness centre on site and 17 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 350 guests. Hilton London Paddington also has Wi-Fi in each of the hotel rooms and throughout the rest of the hotel (complimentary to Hilton Honors members). When it comes to dining, choose from our Carriages Restaurant or the iconic London-inspired bar, 146 Paddington, both of which provide excellent quality cuisine to suit everyone.

Hilton London Paddington garners mixed reviews, with its prime location next to Paddington Station often celebrated for enabling effortless exploration of London. However, some guests have called out the hotel for noise disturbances and outdated rooms that detract from its historic charm and art deco flair. While the service and cleanliness receive both commendation and criticism, many travelers agree that the hotel does not provide the best value for its price point.

The Paddington Hilton is a great choice when you visit London. You can take the Elisabeth train or the Paddington Express from Heathrow Airport that make your visit to London easy and affordable. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and professional. Our room was outstanding. When they found out that we were celebrating our anniversary they had a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate waiting in our room. The breakfast buffet was a 10 and the Executive Lounge was delightful. I would highly recommend the Paddington Hilton for your London stay.

This hotel is the perfect location for exploring London. It is right at Paddington Station and so many Tube lines meet there as well as the Elizabeth Line and the Heathrow Express. The bed was comfy, though the pillows were a little hard for my taste.

I was there for 5 nights and the hot buffet breakfast (poached eggs, bacon etc.) was invariably cold. And they had bagels and smoked salmon, but no cream cheese or capers! That was strange. The buffet breakfast is also a bit of a rabbit warren as there are parts of it in other side rooms.

The bathroom for my room was big, but the space was poorly used. Be aware that many rooms have the shower over the bathtub and the tub walls are HIGH. Be warned: It can be dangerous both getting in and out of the tub to take a shower. The shower controls require an engineering degree! And the tub is quite narrow so your feet are almost together while you're taking a shower. There was plenty of room to put the vanity closer to the door and thus have a wider and shallower (and thus safer) tub, or to eliminate the tub altogether and have a much more accessible walk-in shower. No face washers were provided in the bathroom and I had to call housekeeping to get some. Others in my party had to do the same as their rooms didn't have them either.

Housekeeping was slow - at least twice they came well after 3pm, once when I was back in my room after a busy day.

The in-room air con system is a hit and miss. Every time I went back into my room it was set to 22.7C, way too hot for me. I'd reset it to 19.5C (once I figured out the trick to it - there are instructions, but they aren't clear to novices), and would have a comfortable night, but back it would go. EVERY DAY. If the customer is staying for several nights and they have set the A/C to suit themselves, then housekeeping should NOT change it. When I couldn't change it at first, I called and they said that some A/Cs were set centrally, not in-room, despite what the instructions said. Go figure! The A/C fans, even set Low, were noisy and I had to sleep with earplugs every night.

Despite it's proximity to Paddington Station, I heard no noise from trains or the street at all. Just the A/C fan.

I had very little to do with the staff (I was in a group booking), but those I did met were pleasant and polite.

Dear RhondaB217, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay. We are delighted to hear that our hotel’s location at Paddington Station made it convenient for your London explorations. We appreciate your feedback on the breakfast experience and will certainly review the variety of offerings and ensure food is served at the right temperature. We understand your comments about the breakfast layout and will look into ways to make it more seamless for our guests. We apologise for the issues you encountered with the bathroom design and shower setup. Your safety and comfort are of utmost importance to us, and we’ll be sure to consider these points for future improvements. Additionally, we regret to hear that housekeeping didn’t meet your expectations. We will address the timing and availability of room amenities to ensure we are providing the best service possible. As for the air conditioning, we understand how frustrating it can be to have your settings changed and to deal with noise disruptions. We will work on improving the clarity of the instructions and communicate with our team to avoid altering guests' preferences, especially during extended stays. We are glad that despite these challenges, you found our staff pleasant and enjoyed the peacefulness of the room in terms of external noise. Thank you once again for your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a more seamless experience. Kind Regards, Erdal

We stayed here a few nights in London to take advantage of the convenience to the public transit and the Heathrow express (convenient except for the strike delay returning). We were early and the room was not available, although the family suite turned out to be the same room number offered 24 hours previously via online checkin, so I wonder if it wasn't already ready. The staff wasn't exactly welcoming. Anyway, we stowed our luggage and connected to internet. The hotel is quite old, as is much of London, and it is quite dingy looking with shabby looking, threadbare furniture. The light fixture on the bathroom mirror was held together with duct tape and there were some unattractive stains. However, considering the traffic in and out of the hotel by travelers worldwide and its age, it was surprisingly clean in the bathroom, and they diligently changed our sheets and tidied the room. The hot water, plumbing, and hvac worked fine. The breakfast was very good - lots of choices, but if you want a decent coffee, get it from the machine, is what we learned, as the pots of "coffee" brought to the table were very weak.
We ordered pizza one night in our jet lag, and the staff brought up a small fridge for us to store leftovers, which was nice. However, when we wanted to heat it up the next day, there was no microwave to be found. We called housekeeping to inquire about any microwave anywhere on the premises to use, and they did not return the call with an answer. We literally took the pizza plate to the front desk to ask, and the staff reluctantly asked the manager, who refused to heat our pizza anywhere on the premise, stating fire/health code as a restriction. Probably a cultural difference as I'm accustomed to more empowered American style management that aims to please customers, but they were more concerned about the housekeeping not calling back and stated that they were too high end for microwaves, never mind that I've stayed in Waldorfs and Hyatts with at least floor facilities. In the US, the employee would've shut us up by sharing a freaking microwave. Alas, the pizza was okay cold, although English pizza is kind of odd. So, that was kind of a funny and weird way to learn about cultural differences and where English Hiltons draw the line at pleasing guests.

Hilton Paddington Lacks Customer Connection

We stayed at the Hilton Paddington Staton this week and found the customer service of many of the staff and managers extremely lacking in skills needed to maintain a responsible customer connection.

Concierge Service - lacks knowledge of area and ability to help you with most anything asked of them. From directions to assistance with different venues and even failed to make a call for us. I would not count on this service for much more than a hello.

Laundry Service - sent pants out to be cleaned and they came back wet and not 100 percent clean. Staff and managers refused to take it off bill saying they were cleaned just not 100 percent dry.

Management - failed miserably in this travelers opinion! Having traveled a good amount I have never seen a management staff so un cooperative. Our flight to London was cancelled 3 times. Once due to mechanical and 2 times due to a once in 20 year storm that hit the area. Causing us to get in a day late. 1,000s of people were stuck around the globe to landing in the UK because of this storm. When we asked the hotel if they would move our reservation out by one day they refused saying we had to pay for the night missed (even though we called them a good 18 hours in advance). When we did extend by a day there was no accommodation to provide anything. He had upgraded our original room and they refused to allow us to stay in that room an extra night. They refused to include anything not even a breakfast.

Hotel In General - remember we had an upgraded room - shower door corroded and hard to close, soap dispensers broken off wall, we asked for an extra blanket and they took it away at night, no refrigerator in room, instant coffee in room, light bulb burned out, dresser drawers coming off tracks trash bags for trashcans missing and to small.

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

I am really sorry to have to write this review.
I was at the Hilton Paddington site today on business. ( collecting a mutual VIP Guest for an onward journey) . As the parking restrictions are quite intense on the adjacent road to the hotel the traffic warden suggested I move my car so i did . After mush deliberation I moved my car on the forecourt to the side of the property which was not causing an immediate obstruction. There was a van driver who was quite happy for me to park in front whilst I collected our Guest . I went inside the premises to acknowledge our Guest for collection. Guest was 1 minute to joining me so I came out to stay by the car in case someone wanted to gain access only to be met by a very rude member of the Hilton team who demanded me to move my car immediately. I tried to explain that I was 2 minutes away from leaving the site as my guest was on route to joining me. The rude gentleman wanted me to move immediately and did not care for any of my explanations. I once more explained that I the guest is coming within seconds and the rude staff member still signalled the Concierge to give me an immediate fine without delay and walked in . The security team also came out along with 2 other members like it was a very big issue . I enquired who the rude gentleman was and no one would give me his name . I moved my car nonetheless and my guest followed me into the car . I came out and once more asked for the name and upon my insistence finally was given it - Sameet Chopra who is the General Manager. I was shocked that such a person would be so rude unprofessional and absent minded. Please do not book into this property the staff are not helpful and the Team leader is just a rude unprofessional man. He should not be leading a team here.

Dear Mr Raju, you blocked our driveway - parking right in between the exit gates without having any concern for anyone. Then you decided to leave your vehicle to use the hotel facilities as you were not in the car when initially checked by our team. There is clear and ample signage throughout the driveway which explains that it is a No Parking zone but you selfishly neglected all advise. When challenged firstly by our concierge and then by our General Manager Sumit Chopra you started to argue instead. We have taken note and passed your car details to our parking service provider to issue a fine. Please be advised that such belligerent attitude will never be tolerated.  Kind regards, Hilton London Paddington Team

We arrive at the hotel at 4pm and the room is not ready. However, having access to the lounge we take the opportunity to have a snack for the half hour they ask us to wait. Luckily there was a cheesecake because otherwise apart from a few sandwiches they mainly only had things to drink (non-alcoholic).
The room (a family suite with terrace) is very large, especially considering the (skimpy) standards of London. It's a shame that there isn't even a minimum separation between our bed and that of the children. In the room the ventilation system makes a very annoying white noise even when it is turned off. In the morning at dawn the room lights up because the curtains do not block the light either on the sides or below. Oh and the sink leaks leaving a pool of water on the floor. Not pleasant to discover in the middle of the night when you go to the bathroom and find yourself with soaked socks.
At breakfast we have two options, we try the largest room on the first day and after queuing for a while they let us sit (despite the amount of people they are really efficient). The choice of food is good while the machines that make the various drinks are half out of service. But when we asked one of the many waitresses what we wanted, they brought it to us directly from the bar. Therefore excellent choice and efficiency.
After breakfast I report all the problems in the room to see if they can solve it since we are staying for three nights. Unfortunately when we return in the evening nothing has changed. Noise and water in the bathroom. I had also asked to change the children's sheets as my eldest son soiled them having had a nosebleed during the night but not even that.
The next morning I report it again. This time they immediately send someone to change the sheets and promise to send someone to fix the air conditioning and the bathroom.
But in the end there is nothing to be done about the air conditioning. It is probably a structural problem and therefore if you want to sleep in a quiet place, this room is not for you. Just to make you understand. It feels like you're on an international flight all the time. An unbearable background noise that without earplugs makes rest really difficult.
Another disappointment was the lounge. There is always little or nothing to eat and alcohol is only available during certain hours of the day. Compared to other Hiltons we are not quite there.
At check out the classic question about how I found myself, to which I once again expressed all my doubts about the stay. Terribly sorry they promise me that I will be contacted in the next few days by customer service. In reality I have to start the request after a week but then they offer me compensation for the inconvenience.
This was the second chance I gave this hotel but alas it will probably also be the last given the number of alternatives in London with the same brand. Structural issues are ignored and what's worse is that the service is not up to par with what I'm used to receiving from the Hilton brand.

Love this hotel!! Great location right in Paddington station!! You can get off your flight at Heathrow, take the Paddington Heathrow Express and get into the hotel without ever going outside ( okay technically you are kind of outside on Paddington train platform but it is totally covered so you are protected from the elements and definitely won’t get wet if it’s raining). The hotel had nice comfortable rooms and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Besides the train station and the Heathrow Express it is also on 4 different underground tube lines, as well as the Elizabeth line, so makes for a great location as a base to sightsee and see everything London has to offer. A good number of restaurants in Paddington station as well as nearby, plus there are additional stores in Paddington … clothing, food, drug store and others.

Nice friendly check-in, all the staff top notch, hardly any queue for an efficient, friendly check-in. I was very early but a room was ready, which was a bonus. The public areas have a high-end vibe that the rooms themselves fall slightly short of, the upholstery on an armchair being particularly nasty. But the whole room lacks the nice touches that would elevate this experience into the price bracket that it inhabits.

My stay was in January and I must say that despite setting the room thermostat to the maximum 24 degrees, the temperature never rose above what the display told me was 20.7 but felt much colder. No additional blankets were supplied, and I wasn’t going to go through the rigmarole of phoning reception to rectify the situation for one night. I slept with my coat as an over blanket, sub-optimal at these prices.

In common with the rest of the stay, the breakfast buffet was adequate but no more, plenty of everything you’d expect but this is the baseline and I’ve had exactly the same in budget-friendly properties quite close by.

Speaking of the prices, you could get much better value for money within 100 yards of this hotel, which is trading on its name and location. I’m glad I ticked this box, but short of a major refurb or major price adjustment, I won’t be returning.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s located right in Paddington station!! Once you get off your flight at Heathrow, take the Paddington Heathrow Express, arrive at Paddington station and the hotel is right there, meaning you are protected if it’s raining etc. Tip: look for the back entrance rather than entering from the front of the hotel. Besides the Heathrow Express you are also located on four different underground tube lines making it convenient to get around London for all your sight-seeing. There are also other stores in Paddington station for food, groceries, clothing, coffee and a drug store. As well as many restaurant options close by.

The room size was decent enough making it possible to open 2x suitcases and move around. There are tea and coffee amenities however no bar fridge. Complimentary water bottles were provided daily. The bed was comfortable, pillows unfortunately were not very comfortable. The room was clean and quiet.

The bathroom is a bit dated. With the shower inside the bathtub and the toilet not always flushing the best. There were basic bathroom supplies of shampoo, shower gel and moisturizer. Overall, the room décor was slightly dated with the hotel needing a bit of an upgrade. We didn’t have breakfast here or use any of the other facilities as we were out exploring most of the time.

We stayed here for 3 nights in December on level 3 and got a comfortable rest each night. I would stay here again based on the location.

This is the most convenient hotel option in London I have ever stayed at, in 20 long years of my visits to London. Hilton is right at the paddington station. It's like you take the elevator from your hotel room & then take the stairs from the reception lobby and you have access to one of the biggest London stations, with connectivity to other cities, to Heathrow and to all of London through underground.
The hotel was, I assume, for the London train staff in yesteryears cz you have GWR written in all elevators and around.

The rooms are much bigger than the typical claustrophobic rooms as per central London standards. double beds are small though even for 2 pax. The front desk is helpful & check in/check out quick and smooth.

Because the hotel is centrally located, there are tons of eating options around open till quite late on weekends.

Housekeeping was on point except that the shampoo/conditioner/lotion bottles were almost empty and not refilled in our 4 night stay.

And the lady doing our room (406), turned up at 8:30AM one of the days to do the room and it usually isn't the time to wake someone up on a holiday!!

Would recommend Hilton for its convenient location and it's larger than usual London hotel rooms.
