In the beating heart of London, close to Theatreland, The British Museum and Covent Garden, The Bloomsbury, a magnificent Edwin Lutyens’ Grade II-listed, neo-Georgian building sits amid the historic 18th century neighbourhood of the same name; a literary heartland filled with galleries, bookshops and a wealth of cultural heritage. Following a multimillion pound refurbishment, the final chapter in The Bloomsbury’s redevelopment includes beautifully designed Luxury Studio Suites, Sitting Room and grand salon bar - The Coral Room. The Coral Room, designed in collaboration with internationally-acclaimed, Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, features 36 original pieces of art commissioned with illustrator Luke Edward Hall and inspired by the surrounding Bloomsbury area. The restoration of The Bloomsbury also includes Dalloway Terrace, a charming indoor and outdoor restaurant and The Bloomsbury Club Bar which takes inspiration from the Bloomsbury Set, evoking the glamour of a bygone era.

Whenever we travel in Europe we want to stay in a hotel that looks and makes us feel like we are in Europe. No chain hotels will do. This London boutique hotel was perfect! This chic and modern hotel had all the charm one would expect when staying in London. The room was a great size, clean, large bathroom and plenty of storage for clothes. The staff could not be more accommodating and pleasant. They all went out of their way to make our stay special. The Coral Room is a beautiful place for a cocktail with just enough people to make the vibe exciting but not overwhelming at all. You will always get a seat. Enjoy a wonderful dinner at Dalloway Terrace within the hotel. We did notice conference room space for business meetings. The daily included breakfast was great and the morning staff were fantastic. As always, it's all about location and this was perfect. Located just behind the Dominion Theater, off the main street, you are within walking distance to many theaters and restaurants. The Tottenham Court Road tube station is across the street from the Dominion Theater for easy access to all the trains. For those willing to take a good walk, you can walk to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Fortnum and Mason...If you want to experience London and feel like you are in London. Stay at the Bloomsbury, you will not be disappointed.

Four star hotel with a 6 star experience. The service is what makes this hotel a gem. Everyone from the moment that I exited the car to when I entered another to leave was so very friendly, helpful, kind and even fun! Dale, the concierge answered all of my questions and made some wonderful recommendations. The beautiful young woman at the registration desk (shame on me for forgetting her name), was sweet, helpful and a joy to see on almost a daily basis. Peter from the moment that I stepped foot onto Bloomsbury grounds to the night before I left was kind, informative, and exceeded that which I expected with regards to directions, information etc. Tony was a joy with who to speak, lots of knowledge information and fun. And there was an older man with glasses who was very kind as well as a younger man who made my day whenever I saw him with his big smile and greeting of "good morning." This staff is not one of a 4 star hotel, but that of a 10 stars if such thing existed. Exceptional! The hotel itself was very nice and clean. .. not fancy like the Ritz, so if that is what you want, then don't book, but it is quaint, lovely, well decorated and clean. The rooms are a nice size. I love that they had a kettle and Nespresso machine, so I was able to have tea and night to warm me up a bit from the damp cold as well as coffee in the morning. Nice selection of teas and always leaving cookies! The housekeeping staff kept my room clean. The bed was so comfortable with nice, white crisp clean sheets. The only issues I had were 1: the heating/cooling system can be confusing until you learn how to use it 2. until the day that I left, I could not figure out the lighting system-- so many switches and I don
t know which worked what, except for the restroom and the little ones beside the bed 3. the outlet in the bathroom had only 2 prongs instead of 3, whereby I had to used the hairdryer in the room. It was very quiet for the most part: I hardly heard any police sirens and only heard one neighbor talking, but she had a naturally loud voice as I learned on the elevator! I ate breakfast only one morning, and realized that it wasn't worth the money for me as I am a tiny eater in the morning. But they did have a nice selection and the food was very good, but I preferred to go the creperie around the corner every evening to pick up a croissant, which is plenty for me in the morning. The bar area is upscale, beautiful and very popular... every night it was quite full, but there are seats. Evidently, locals enjoy it as well as patrons. But the noise did not transfer into the rooms. The location is excellent: tube is essentially one block away, theater district 15 minutes walk, Westminster Abbey, Parliament etc., 20 minutes (I am a faster walker, so 25 for some), Piccadilly 15 minutes, British museum 3-5 minute walk. Essentially there is much to see within a short walking distance and the tube is right there. Overall, I cannot say enough about the Bloomsbury! I recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates extraordinary service, comfort, cleanliness and a optimal location. And thank you to all of those who work there who made my trip so delightful!

Dear judithf519, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review of your recent stay at The Bloomsbury. We are truly delighted to hear that you had such a positive experience and that our service left such a lasting impression. Your kind words about our team, from the moment you arrived until your departure, are incredibly heartwarming and affirm the level of service we strive to provide. It’s wonderful to know that Dale, Peter, Tony, and the rest of our team—including the young woman at the registration desk and other members you encountered—made such a meaningful impact on your stay. We will be sure to pass along your compliments to them personally, as they will be thrilled to know they contributed to making your stay memorable. We take pride in fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and it’s great to hear that this was reflected in your experience. We're pleased that you found our hotel to be a "gem" not only because of our staff but also for the comfort and cleanliness of the facilities. While we may not have the grandeur of some other hotels, we believe that the charm, coziness, and attention to detail in both our décor and amenities, like the in-room kettle and Nespresso machine, add to a unique and comfortable experience for our guests. We appreciate your feedback on the heating/cooling and lighting systems, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion these may have caused. We will look into ways to make the use of these features clearer for future guests. Your observation about the bathroom outlet is also noted, and we will review this to ensure a more convenient setup. We’re glad you found the location of the hotel so convenient, allowing you to explore many of London’s iconic landmarks and cultural sites with ease. It’s fantastic to know that the bar area added to your enjoyment and that despite its popularity, your room remained a peaceful retreat. Your glowing recommendation means the world to us, and we are grateful for your kind words about the extraordinary service, comfort, and cleanliness you experienced. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we very much look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to London. If there is anything else we can do to make your next visit even more enjoyable and comfort-able, please do not hesitate to contact me asif_saleem@doylecollection.com Kind regards, Asif Saleem Guest Relations Manager The Bloomsbury

Once again, it was a wonderful stay at the Bloomsbury Hotel in London. A warm welcome, the room ready before time with small macaroons welcome on the nightstand, quiet nights, tea, coffee, biscuits very regularly replenished in the room, soft and clean towels, a bathrobe and soft slippers...
The staff is concerned about the well-being of guests and keeps smiling.
Many thanks to Maria, Estélita, Tania, Gabriela, Aga and Patricia for sumptuous breakfasts and for their kindness.
The hotel is conveniently located with the West End theatres, the British museum and the underground next door.

The Bloomsbury Hotel, on Great Russell Street
Experience Six Star Elegance in the heart of London. Chic and quiet, it was first recorded as vineyards and woodland in 1086. Bloomsbury is known for 18th century Georgian Architecture, garden squares and the location of the famous 1694 duel of swords, between John Law and Edward Wilson. This intellectual and literary hub of London has a heritage of 19th century Regency era artists, writers, and economists. (Virginia Woolf, Lytton Strachey, John Maynard Keynes, Gertrude Stein, and Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli ) Designed by Edwin Lutyens in 1928, it was once the Central Club of the YWCA. Queen Mary laid the cornerstone in 1929. (the service was broadcast throughout Britain) From 1932 to 1998, it was a hub for feminism; a legacy supported by the Royal Family. Also, it is known for the Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney Library.
The happy hospitality team was warm and welcoming. Well-thought features include Fine dining, art collections, Live music, state-of-the art mixologists, heated marble bath floors with lux toiletries, Herringbone floors, antique rugs, Nespresso coffee, duck-down duvets, robes and slippers, and fast, free WIFI. Stylish period interiors include Waterford crystal chandeliers in the main George V and Queen Mary Hall. Located near Oxford Street shopping and Tottingham Court Road Tube Station; it’s a five-minute walk to Soho, and West End.
There are added experiences with romantic atmosphere when you enjoy The Bloomsbury’s flower-filled Dalloway Terrace, The Coral Room, and the Bloomsbury Club, (the subterranean Jazz Club) Luxury is easy to find in London. But the fusion of history and luxurious nuance that is preserved and shared at The Bloomsbury, is epic.

We spent one night at the Bloomsbury and enjoyed our stay. Check-in was swift and the room a good size with a super comfortable bed and had a fully stocked mini bar. The bathroom was also fully stocked with miniature Malin + Goetz hair and skin products, shaving, dental and vanity sets.

The onsite Coral Room cocktail bar is worth a visit to try one of their signature cocktails, I had the Summers Blood which was delightful.

The breakfast comprises a complimentary continental breakfast, which had a great selection including a range of options that are gluten-free. You can also purchase a selection of cooked breakfasts as well, again with gluten-free options available.

The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road tube and Elizabeth line station and is close the British Museum.

We arrived at the Bloomsbury in the middle of a rainstorm and were greeted by a guy whose name I think was Anthony but can’t be sure, sorry, gave us a warm welcome and knew our names. On walking through to the bar Giorgio greeted us and showed us to a lovely table for two. So far so great. The lovely Mary attended to us and brought us two glasses of champagne followed by a Martini and a Manhattan both made so very well but don’t know the mixologists name - sorry.
Into the restaurant where Madeleine looked after us all evening. She was so very attentive, listened very carefully to what we wanted and delivered exactly. A glass of white wine, another cocktail ahead of the meal.
Thanks to the chef - monkfish starter, steak and massaman curry for mains, both so very tasty and perfectly presented.
Finally down to the Bloomsbury club for a whisky and brandy where we were served by Alex (I think) very attentive and informed about what else goes on at the weekend.
And to bed, very comfortable and huge.
Breakfast - let’s just say they must have all been having an off day. Service poor, and food…...

I practically made a full time job out of researching hotels for our first time trip to London. The Bloomsbury did not disappoint. From the moment of arrival via private hotel transportation which was punctual and easy to locate at LHR, we were warmly welcomed and cared for by the friendly and attentive staff including Ivan and others. Our room was a Classic King. While small, it was also very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Breakfast included cooked to order items as well as a lovely buffet of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruits and nearly everything you could think of. Service was consistently warm, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed cocktails in the stunning Coral Lounge and wish we had had the time to take advantage of the other hotel amenities including tea and dinner. The location was excellent for walking within Covent Garden and Soho but also to Buckingham Palace and Tower of London although the latter two locations were much further but we loved the walk! Tube stop is a couple of blocks away and there are many shops, pubs and restaurants within easy proximity. Highly recommend.

The Bloomsbury is a hidden jewel in Central London. The hotel has all the refineries and touches that made this stay so decadent. First class service, genuine and warm staff that go the extra mile at all times. I loved, loved, the fresh flower arrangements. They were everywhere, in all the common areas, on many surfaces — so elegant and classy - the breakfast pancakes were perfectly fluffy and melted in your mouth. The turn down service each evening made for a perfect ending to our very busy 5 days in London exploring the city. The King Deluxe Room worth every penny. Spacious, high end personal care items and toiletries, bottled water supplied in abundance - and the room was clean with all the little extras popped in that made this stay one that won’t be forgotten. We will be back!

This was the first time staying at the Bloomsbury Hotel, having stayed at the Bristol Hotel which is also part of the Doyle Group which we found offered great service and in an excellent location in Bristol! The Bloomsbury also looked ideally located in London, on arrival by taxi the main road is set away from the main entrance, but the doormen (Lukasz) assumed we were staying at the hotel and walked to the road and carried our luggage and welcomed us to the hotel. On check in the staff were polite and friendly. During our stay we found all the staff professional and helpful, we had a slight problem with the location of the room which the staff quickly resolved by Marta and Sebastian. The room was furnished to a very high standard and the bed was very comfortable. The Bars in the hotel were stylish with a great atmosphere! A big thank you to Lorcan who attended our table-great service! The staff were very professional and friendly, Bloomsbury Club bar also had singers which gave a really good atmosphere to the evening. The food was great with a good choice at breakfast, with a very welcoming greeting each day from Estilita! Our stay was made enjoyable by friendly professional staff and a hotel that values its guests.

I’m also delighted that you enjoyed the ambiance of our bars, the quality of the food, and the vibrant atmosphere created by the live singers in the Bloomsbury Club Bar. These are elements we cherish as part of our guest experience, and it’s wonderful to hear they added to your stay. Thank you again for your thoughtful words. We truly value your feedback, and it was an honor to contribute to your enjoyable stay. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to The Bloomsbury—or another of our Doyle Collection properties—very soon. Warm regards, Marta De Santis Senior Guest Relations Manager

This was a special stay due to my Husbands 40th Leap Year Birthday celebrations, and a weekend out in London, which all The Bloomsbury team made perfect.

We were welcomed and greeted by the ladies on Reception who were very informative and friendly with us who upgraded our room to a king size free of charge which was very appreciated.

We went for a drink to the Coral Room with the drinks vouchers we were given, This room was beautiful and the staff very nice, who also brought us some nibbles.

Room was lovely, very well equipped, a very comfortable king size bed and nice to have shower and bath with heated floors. We did have an issue with the carpet in the bedroom where it was very sticky in places, I am surprised the house keeping missed this as it was pretty obvious. We reported it to reception - but given 4 starts because of this.

The gentlemen outside the hotel were very pleasant in welcoming us and holding an umbrella over us as we came out. The location was fab, a short stroll to the theatre, oxford street and Tottenham Court Road Station.

We had dinner in the Terrance and the Chicken Milanese was the best I have ever had, again the staff in here were so lovely and welcoming.

Thanks again to all The Bloomsbury team for such an amazing stay.

If I remember correctly, our twin room had three USB plugs near the writing desk and one near one of the beds. As the other traveller's mentioned, there is one North American plug that I used for my 110V curling iron. I brought one converter but never used it. We didn't take the train from Heathrow as the route required a change and then I'd have to walk from Tottenham Court Rd station. It's not very far but there are 20+ steps coming up from the train's exit to the street level. We took a cab instead, which cost about £110 at 10 pm (45 min). A car service orgamized by the hotel would have cost about £120.

Sorry, we did not stay in a cosy room. The room we stayed in, which had a king size bed, was excellent.
