The Melia White House hotel garners applause for its exceptional service and prime location near Regent's Park and central London attractions. While the refurbished bar and Level lounge are hits among guests, reviews of the rooms and cleanliness show a split; some find the rooms spacious and the hotel tidy, others point out noise issues and inconsistent housekeeping.
The atmosphere is generally well-regarded, though not without its critics. As for value, opinions vary; some commend the cost-effectiveness, while others balk at the prices and question the luxury value offered.

Excellent- as always!
Thanks for yet another great stay. I keep coming back to Meliã White House due to a relaxed atmosphere but with a high service level.
Today, Jamie gave me a great start to the day with a nice conversation and personal service. Gracias, Jamie and all! I’m looking forward to my next stay.
Ok: One negative thing is that it’s not clear when booking which rooms gives access to The Level, especially when booking through our travel agency.

We stayed for two nights with our children (11yo and 13 yo) at the Melia White House Hotel in deluxe adjoining rooms on the 4th floor.
The hotel is in a great location, close to Great Portland Street and Regents Park tube stations, which makes it perfect for a weekend of sightseeing.
The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet, and with really comfortable beds.
Breakfast was served from 7am until 11am, so there was no rush, and check out was also a sensible 12 noon - perfect if you prefer a lie in.
Service was excellent. We needed to change the configuration of the beds in the children's room from a large double to two singles and this was resolved in super quick time after a phone call to the front desk.
All staff members were friendly and dedicated. We would definitely stay again on our next trip to the city and would recommend it to other travellers.

The hotel is beautiful and elegant, rooms a bit small but have everything you need, well refurbished, elegant, practical, with essential for toiletry and shampoo/conditioner/body wash/body lotion by Ritual.
The key is a card and either from inside and outside there is a touch screen with 2 functionalities:do not bother and please make my room, really practical and functional! Better than the usual leaflets from hotel hotels!
The breakfast is a expensive but really rich, with full English breakfast, Spanish tortilla, fresh fruit, fresh cheese, fresh bread of different types, many kinds of milk as well. William the waiter from Peru is careful, fun and kind, a real plus for the hotel!

We stayed here for the london marathon. Very nice hotel in a really great area. Bedrooms were lovely & comfortable. I feel I have to point out to the bar staff that their attention to hygiene and infection control was shocking. We watched as the bar staff prepared drinks and cocktails picking up ice & lemon/mint/lime with their fingers to add to the drinks - not using tongs or utensils! They continuously touched/handled the top of the glasses without any sign of hand washing or hand sanitizing. Each member of staff seemed to have the same habits. I counted that 3 members of staff handled or touched the top of a glass (where one would drink from) before placing it on a tray to serve to the customer. I found it really shocking how after coming through a pandemic that simple measures such as hand washing are blatantly ignored. We chose not to drink here after witnessing this. Have we learned nothing from Covid? Surely this is basic bar/waiting training?
To top it off the morning of the marathon during a very chaotic breakfast of very poor quality with no apparent system for serving, a big mouse ran across the floor of the restaurant. Unfortunately this would put me off staying here again. This hotel seriously needs to revise their hygiene standards.

I have stayed at the melia white house on a number of occasions over the past 8 years but last night will be my last. The only positive is the location, I work very close by, so its very handy for when i go out with friends in London and I don't have to travel home. Stayed last night as we (myself and my husband) went to Wembley.
Firstly check in was very poor, there must have been 8 staff behind check in and only 1 serving a customer. Apparently 3pm is shift change time (seems an odd time to me, when check in is from 3pm!) no apology from the staff when I was eventually served
Had a deluxe double room and the room was tiny, couldn't even move around the bed as one corner of it nearly the touched the wall in a very odd triangle shaped room. Window latch didn't close so could her the noise from the traffic. Toilet in a sperate room to bathroom, with no sink in it..No door on the actual bathroom, just frosted glass and a big gap.
Wifi didn't reach our room -
lights switches very intermittent, sometimes worked when you went to turn them on, other times they didn't.
We were room number 141.
Toiletries etc very poor for a 4 star hotel
Check out was just as poor, i would have complained then but there were only 2 ladies on the desk and another customer was complaining in front of me. I waited 15 minutes, with no acknowledgment from the staff so in the end i just left my card on the side, as i already paid and walked out. The customer infront of me, asked to speak to a manager, who apparently wasn't around! Customer service was shocking!
Considering this hotel has had a massive refurbishment over the past few years, its it very disappointing and I will now stay somewhere else when in london. People in my office have said the Holiday Inn that is about a 2 min walk away is much better!
i hope to receive some acknowledgement from Melia on this, as they appear only to respond to people who review them 5 out of 5

Do you want to stay in a hotel that double charges you for your stay and then refuses to return your emails or expensive international phone calls for 3+ weeks (have now had to get my credit card company to intervene)?
Or how about a hotel with a room that comes with the constant noise akin to an eight year old playing the trombone if you're lucky enough to be placed in a room within 20 yards of their old elevators (which the manager was clearly aware of when we mentioned it)?
If the romance in your relationship is gone, then you definitely won't mind the glass door/wall to the bathroom situated right at the end of the bed. Who doesn't want to watch their partner sit on a toilet through a barely frosted door?
If these features interest you, then you definitely want to stay at the Meliá White House! Its location is the only positive thing I have to say as it's near several tube lines, as well as talking distance to Euston and Kings Cross stations.
This is my first time ever giving a hotel a 1 star and I've stayed at other Meliá properties and have always had positive experiences, which is what made this stay all the more disappointing, especially for the price they charge. With so many hotels in London, you can do better than the Meliá.

Arrived early on a Saturday Morning and were very grateful to have our rooms ready when we arrived from an overnight flight. It was my daughter’s first trip to Europe and I was really hoping for a good base for our trip. We booked our trip through Costco and we had two connecting rooms for 4 of us. The breakfast is a good hot traditional English breakfast. They have nice pastries and cereal for those who don’t like the other fare. The hotel is definitely close to several tube stations and within walking distance from many sights. I have one recommendation and one complaint. The recommendation is to not eat at the restaurant or bar for any meals other than breakfast (if breakfast is included in your stay). The food in the restaurants outside of breakfast is just ok, and very over priced. The complaint is that the rooms are not cleaned in timely manner. We would always leave by 9am and return by 4pm to freshen up. One of the days we returned to find the rooms had not been touched. So we just phoned the front desk and got new towels and let it be. Then the next day, the same thing happened and we called the front desk to have the room cleaned. The cleaning staff doesn’t speak English, but did communicate to me the rooms would be cleaned in 30 minutes. Two hours later they were finally ready. A bit disconcerting given I make it a point to tip the cleaning staff every day.

Three weeks ago, from May 18 to 22, my husband, my 7-year-old son and I stayed in this MAGNIFICENT hotel, a Spanish chain that leaves the flag very, very high even for the most demanding standards. From our arrival, Mamun very kindly took care of our luggage and took us to the DE LEVEL reception where we had a personalized check-in with a glass of champagne included, and the best of smiles and efficient attention from the lady who welcomed us, and then took us to our family room on the sixth floor.
The room was large, spacious and bright, with two complimentary bottles of water that were replaced every day and 2 magnificent bathrobes with their corresponding slippers. The bathing area is separated from the entrance by a curtain for privacy. The bed was large and comfortable, and there was a sofa and a small round table with two chairs. The only thing I missed was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and better LED lighting.
The hotel offers an excellent THE LEVEL service with a private lounge that you can use all day with free drinks and snacks, they offer an excellent and very varied breakfast with a breakfast menu for special requests such as eggs Benedict or pancakes (which they made our son's delights) and tapas every day from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. But what caught my attention the most was the kindness and friendliness of the room staff, attentive at all times to the clients' needs and very pleasant in their treatment, which undoubtedly makes you feel very comfortable.
The hotel is very well located in Marylebone, a very quiet and safe neighborhood and very well connected, 100 meters from the Great Portland Street tube stop and a 20-minute walk from Oxford Street.
Just thank you for the wonderful stay we had and that helped us enjoy our trip to London to the fullest.

Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms clean (apart from the previous guests contact lenses which were stuck to the bedside table), all staff very friendly and polite. Great selection at breakfast, however we breakfasted relatively early and most of the food appeared to have been cooked some time previously and was a only warm, and cold by the time you took your breakfast to the table.
Room booking included drinks and dining voucher that we didn’t get and as no drinks could be charged to the room, this couldn’t be picked up in the bill.
Unfortunately our premium room backed onto the lift so we could hear the lift mechanisms at night, which wasn’t great.
Compared to other Melia’s we have stayed in, this one struggles to meet the same standards, it doesn’t make it a bad hotel, just not as good as other under the Melia banner.

Centrally located in London with easy access to the Underground, making for a fine location for touring. The hotel has some nice amenities but is showing some wear and tear.
The room we arrived to included a plate of partially eaten chocolates with a nice note from the hotel to welcome someone - just not us. We spent the first night in a room far too hot for comfort despite a visit from engineering who said all was in order. Thankfully Satya at the front desk came to the rescue and arranged a room swap while we were away the next day. She is a credit to the hotel and took care to ensure we had a solution. The subsequent nights were comfortable and waiting for us on return was a nice platter of sliced fruit. We respect a business which acknowledges a problem and works for a satisfactory solution.
The ensuites do not have outlets - only for a shaver - so if you plan to travel with or use a hair dryer it will require one of the two outlets next to the beds.
Buffet style breakfast was good, with cooked to order eggs or omelettes on request, and a large variety of foods. The serving staff are quite attentive and visited numerous times to clear plates and offer help. Luz Maria and Liesly were very kind to the family and charming.
The physical space is appointed well but public areas such as hallways on the room floors are in need of new carpet.
The lift system requires that floors are selected before entering the car. As such the lifts were often full and slow at peak times rather than allowing guests to enter and select their floor.
The location near Regent’s Park felt safe.

We are pleased to hear that you found our hotel's central location convenient for touring London and that you enjoyed some of our amenities. However, we apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. It is disappointing to hear about the issues with the initial room assignment, including the temperature discomfort and the mix-up with the welcome chocolates. We are glad to hear that Satya at the front desk was able to assist you promptly and ensure a satisfactory solution. We appreciate your understanding and acknowledgment for our efforts to address any problems that came up during your stay. Rest assured, we will take note of your feedback regarding the outlets in the ensuite and the condition of the public areas for future improvements. On a positive note, We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the buffet-style breakfast and the attentive service from our staff, especially Luz Maria and Liesly. We value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a more seamless and enjoyable stay. If there is anything else we can assist you with or if you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. Warmest regards, Guest Experience Team
