I wrote a lengthy email to management about the poor service received whilst visiting but no one has even bothered to reply. In short, we were allowed to book a bar that wasn’t even open, meaning that we booked expensive train tickets to be turned away when we arrived (this bar is still available to book now!). We were then moved to another area and promised the same service, but we were then told that we couldn’t have the drinks we wanted because they cost too much to open for a few people (yet they were clearly advertised and we were assured it wouldnt be an issue when we were moved to that area). Overall we received terrible service but as a side note, the decor is horrifically dated and the ambience is awful. Avoid!!

I booked afternoon tea for my elderly, infirm uncle, he is a Chelsea Pensioner, whom I had not been able to visit since March last year. The whole experience was delightful, the staff were simply wonderful, particularly Adrian in the tea room and John who helped us in and out of the hotel. We have taken tea in many of the "big name" places but The Rubens can teach them all a thing or two about how to take care of their guests, the food was superb, as a coeliac I am accustomed to a fairly mediocre offering, this has to be the best afternoon tea I have ever been offered!

The Hotel is superb in every way, from a sumptuous breakfast in palatial surroundings to the cosy bar. The staff are all lovely, knowledgeable and genuine with a caring and honest attitude. They can’t do enough for you from the doormen to the staff on the reception desk, especially Zoe and Junior, who are a credit to the hotel. The room overlooking the Mews was spotless and stylish with the most comfortable bed in the world. We loved everything about our stay and will certainly be back to enjoy the Curry Room and the bars in full swing when restrictions change for the better. The hotel felt extremely safe and is in a brilliant location for all the London attractions, but in particular Buckingham Palace and thank you for accommodating a late check-out for us it really made the difference to us being able to enjoy our last day.

The most gorgeous hotel with the sweetest staff ever. Just back from a girls weekend away and what a place to of spent it. The whole hotel is so elegant and charming … the only thing that I think they could improve on is the shampoo and other bathroom products and they need to supply body cream . Also should have music playing at breakfast .

I booked the bottomless afternoon tea as a 60th gift for my mum. It was exceptional ! We sat in the window and ‘people watched’ whilst the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The pianist was outstanding and we would have loved to sit and listen to him all afternoon. We will definitely return and are now intending on staying the night after our experience.
