Detailed Reviews
Came here for an overnight business trip to London. The Hotel is quite close to Underground stations so easy to get back into the city centre.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly, and I was lucky to be able to check-in early as my room was available.
The room is quite dated, but was very spacious but extremely hot, bordering uncomfortable.
The Bathroom was very big and had a bathtub with great water pressure!
The hotel provides "breakfast" but it's extremely basic continental.
Would I stay here again?? - Yes!

Whenever I travel to London, I always stay at the Langorf Hotel because it is a very nice hotel, close to a tube stop, and in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are bright and comfortable and the staff is very helpful. It feels like a much pricier hotel than what it costs to stay there. There are also very nice restaurants within walking distance.

I've stayed here three times on various visits to London and have always had a wonderful experience. The Frognal is a quiet and charming hotel that looks and feels more expensive than it is, both on the inside and out. The morning breakfast buffet is abundant and fresh.
Both the bathrooms and the room itself are very clean. The only downside is that it's near the St. Johns Wood tube stop which you can see on a tube map is a bit of a ride from most tourist attractions in central London. You won't exactly be in the center of the action, but you will be in a quiet and charming neighborhood.

I really liked my stay at the Langorf. The hotel is in a quiet street off busy Finchley Road. There you have great public transport (still in the cheap tube zone 2- off peak travelcard available)via two tube lines and several buses (incl. night buses ) to the West End or City or even a train station (Finchley Rd and Frognal)with direct trains to beautiful Richmond on Thames and Kew Botanical Gardens. Oxford Street (Bond Street Tube stop) just 3 tube stops away. A big advantage is the bus stop for the coaches from Luton and Stanstead Airport right around the corner, 5 min walk.. This means you do not have to go to Central London from the airport to get to your hotel (heavy traffic) which saves you time.
The room was nicely furnished and really quiet. Breakfast was served in a really nice breakfast room with view into the back garden. You really felt like in a country house and not in the bustling capital city. It is a nice walk to Hampstead village, one of the nicest parts of London and there are lots of shops, supermarkets and places to eat around Finchley Rd. tube station.
Probably my favourite place to stay in London in this star rating category and I go to London regulary and used to live there.

Although I have put friends and family into this hotel several times - we live close by - I will never do so again. The last experience was pretty shocking. Some rooms have been refurbished, and others have not been touched for many years. On this visit my guests were first put into a triple room which was NOT one of the fresh looking ones. This was disappointing, but although it was shabby and very old fashioned, it was tolerable, so we made the best of it. However, after checking out to make a visit elsewhere for a night, we were put back into an executive double room which was totally unusable. The toilet stopped flushing, the fan made a loud noise, waking everyone up when the bathroom light went on in the night. The bathroom was not just chipped, faded and old fashioned, but actually dirty. I could scrape filth off the tiles with my fingernails, and the idea of using the bathtub was nauseating. We asked for a replacement room and we were shown to the bottom floor where as soon as the lift door opened, we detected an obvious and obnoxious smell. We looked out of the window and saw a pool of dirty, stinking water with pieces of toilet tissue visible (was this sewage?) Disgusting. I would like to add that the breakfast is only passable at best, and a that certain amount is made each day and not refilled, so if - for example - the hard boiled eggs are gone, they are gone, and no more will be provided. Wi-fi is really bad, so if you hope to conduct business in the hotel, you will be very disappointed. The staff are pleasant and apologetic, but that is simply not enough. I am not sure how the place keeps operating in the condition it is. A lot of money needs to be spent, or they should close the doors.

We stayed at the hotel mid January for a weekend break in London. The Hotel looked pretty on the internet but the real life experience did not live up to the expectation. We checked in on the Friday evening and the staff were friendly enough. The room seemed smaller the bathroom was cramped and when i tried to take a shower the water ran hot almost boiling with no adjustment to the temperature. I reported the problem to reception and asked if we could change rooms. They said they were aware of the problem and if i let it run for 5 to 10 mins it would be OK but that did not work. They also said this was not possible to change rooms but i was welcome to shower in another room. I would describe myself as a liberal person but this suggestion if carried out would put me outside my comfort zone. They suggested getting the handyman in but that came to nothing and we were left with a room without a shower all weekend. Breakfast was a very cramped affair and it would seem that the room was not big enough for all the guests.
overall i would describe the stay as disappointing.

I booked this on AMOMA as a 4 star hotel to stay in whilst attending a wedding. AA 4 star rating, and reasonably priced - what could go wrong....
The first clue was the formica tables in the dining room (very retro) and an odour of damp. The wallpaper was peeling - which really added to the chic 1970's feel.
The room was okay, apart from the stains on the carpet, the sound of what must have been a battalion of storm-troopers in the room above and (a really personal touch) the pubic hairs on the stained (but in fairness washed) bedsheets.
Fortunately there was a Holiday Inn Express around the corner. I went there.
Now, what about a refund?
Well, sort of.... I got a refund for the second night - as I had 'stayed' the first.
This is a doss-house. AMOMA are hopeless (a scam?0) .... and as for an AA 4 star rating???

Response from Langorf, Manager at The Langorf Hotel
Responded Oct 21, 2014
Dear Dominic, Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. Firstly, Langorf Hotel is rated 4 stars Guest Accommodation, not a 4 stars hotel. Regarding the conditions of our traditional townhouse, we are proud of the Victorian style of our premises that is appreciated by our guests. We can guarantee that, even if we have an ongoing refurbishment process for the last few rooms, we do not have any odour of dump or peeling wallpaper in our breakfast room. We would be really happy to have the possibility to show you our high standards so please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to visit us again. Best regards, The Langorf Hotel

I do a lot of research before I book a hotel so due to the good ratings this place had I booked. unfortunately the standard was poor. £70 I paid for the night which isn't too bad in London but it isn't anywhere near the centre and a 10 minute walk from the tube. the sleep quality is horrendous due to the rock hard beds.
the bathroom was pretty good except for the fact the sink location means you can barely get past when your opening the door which just seemed careless.
I wouldn't recommended this place to anyone if you haven't much money you would be better staying in a hostel or spend more money because this place is poor.

The hotel is a dump - that is all I can say other than the room was dirty, the carpets worn and only while I was peeing in toilet did I realize that the open window was giving my neighbours an intimate view of me urinating. This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment and new management.

Hi, I’m not sure about how to get from the airport to the city but the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Finchley Road station. The Langorf is only a small hotel but the staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating.
Hi, yes it only takes approximately 30 mins by train to Wembley.
Parking is available outside the hotel at £3 per hour.
I do not know but there are plenty of local places to eat within a 5 minute walk in Finchley Road or 10 minutes to Hamstead area
You can also take the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station, and then take the underground to Finchely Rd. Station. The hotel is around 5-10 minutes walking from the station.
Regret, no shuttle services to Heathrow airport. However if your arrival is Luton airport, coach services may be available from near Finchley Road station. Thank you.
"Unless this hotel 'pull their finger out' and sort out the issues raised by their guests, then I do not recommend staying here."Read full review
