Came here for an overnight business trip to London. The Hotel is quite close to Underground stations so easy to get back into the city centre. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly, and I was lucky to be able to check-in early as my room was available. The room is quite dated, but was very spacious but extremely hot, bordering uncomfortable. The Bathroom was very big and had a bathtub with great water pressure! The hotel provides "breakfast" but it's extremely basic continental. Would I stay here again?? - Yes!

Firstly I would like to say the reception staff we encountered during our stay were extremely polite and courteous and accepted our complaints with grace and apologies. However, I feel even though we complained and was promised a different room this did not happen. Our complaints regarded the lack of basic hotel facilities. The list below is fairly extensive, 1. Mattress comfort - I have never seen or slept on such a poor quality mattresses, extremely uncomfortable to sleep on, dipped in the middle. Felt like you were sleeping on the pavement! 2. Mattress stains - see photos attached. Stains on mattress completely unacceptable. 3. NO MATTRESS PROTECTORS 4. Winter duvets on the beds despite visiting in July, hottest day of the year! 5. No fan available, despite not having air conditioning and one of the hottest temperatures on record. Fan would have cost approx £12 we were in the basement room and windows would only open marginally. Soooooo hot unbearable! 6. No Tea and coffee making facilities in the room when we arrived. We requested this and supplies and kettle were provided, however topping up the supplies did not happen the next day. 8. Cups in the room were not washed or replaced. We returned to find dirty cups by the side of the beds. Supplies of tea/coffee/milk etc not replenished. 9. TV remote - didn't work 10. TV channels - No BBC1 or other basic channels! Very limited number of TV stations. 11. Bathroom - Extensive marks to ceiling. See photos attached 12. Overhead shower - scalding hot despite following information on the bathroom wall. Unable to use so we were forced to use hand held shower attachment. DANGEROUS! 13. Hair dryer - see photo attached. The hairdryer supplied is one that should be attached to the wall, but the whole thing was just shoved in the drawer. A new hairdryer cost as little as £6-£8! 14. Fire doors - see photos attached Not only were the fire doors found wedged open, we also found fire doors being kept open with a fire extinguisher! UNACCEPTABLE SAFETY ISSUE. As you can see, this was not just one small issue, if it was then I would not be writing this now. We have given management 4 weeks to respond to our complaint letter, but we have heard nothing. The hotel is in a good area close to Finchley Road underground and in a quiet street, so it could be so much better!…

The man on reception was excellent a really lovely friendly chap should give him a payrise he is worth it, the man doing breakfast is also very helpful. No cooked breakfast though you could have toast. Hotel needs total redecorating & closing till its done. It will be so much better in the end. Great location for wembley(1stop away). Dirty & dusty throughout. Cleaner needs sacking I do cleaning for a living. Saying that the bedding was clean though bed was very hard.

This must be my very first negative review and I really don't like doing it but feel that peope should be aware prior to booking as photos are very misleading. Location is great, only 5 minutes from tube station. I stayed for 2 nights attending a concert at Wembley which is only 1 stop from the hotel and some sightseeing with a relative who has worked in hotel industry for over 30 years so you can imagine their disgust! Unfortunately that's where the positive ends. Hotel looks ok from the outside however as soon as I walked up the stairs to the main entrance I could smell the ashtray full of fags left by smokers. Perhaps smoking area should be away from the main entrance as that's not the best welcome. The reception looks dated but I noticed quite few AA awards displayed so the furtniture didn't bother me much as long as the room was clean and comfortable. That wasn't the case! Carpet in our room was dirty and stained. Same with the settee. Windows were covered by spider webs which haven't been cleaned or dusted off for few months I'd say and on one windowsill we found a dirty rag which was left there. Bathroom had mould on walls and tiles looked rather dirty too. Shower head is fixed to the wall so I struggled to rinse my hair off without akward bending. Furniture is very dated and looks very old, even the table lamp and phone looked very old. There was an extra duvet left in the wardrobe which didn't look clean at all. Overall, very dated and needs a good deep clean before being inspected by AA again!…

I stayed this Saturday with my other half. About 5 mins walk from the train station, shops nearby, the gent on the desk (approx 5pm on 22.06.19) was absolutely lovely!!! So welcoming and friendly!! Hotel is a bit dated but it was clean. Plenty of clean, good quality towels. Toiletries provided. Only two improvements needed in my view, room 107's TV doesn't sound great, sounds like the speakers have blown? Also first day my partner tried to have a shower but it just wouldn't cool down so he had to use the small off the wall one however second day was actually alright?

The hotel itself is a little dodgy - old and needs refurbishing. Tough to keep clean. We ended up changing rooms - house keeping is hit and miss. The majority of the staff was over the top great! Very kind. Very helpful. Tried really hard and really made our trip good.

Booked for one night . Arrived and exterior was shabby but not wanting to judge a book by it’s cover proceeded to check in . Lobby / reception outdated but we went to our 3rd floor room and it didn’t get any better . The room was nothing like the photos on booking.com. In reality it stank was filthy and very dusty . Decor very old fashioned . Mattress had seen better days and you could see/ feel every spring . Curtain hanging off as was wallpaper. Paint peeling off window sill . Photos really don’t show the true extent of the filth etc .Bathroom filthy . Toilet bowl stained brown . Went straight back down to reception and handed our key back , told receptionist why we were not staying and she was speechless. Requested a refund and she said it would take 3-5 days so fingers are crossed that this is true . There were notices in the entrance windows stating they had won awards a few years ago and an AA sticker !! All I can say is since then the hotel has descended into decay and neglect !…

Good "walking distance" and quiet location between Finchley Road tube station and relatives in Hampstead. Stayed 2 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and well heated but the carpet was badly stained. The shower hot water was off despite best efforts of the receptionist.(managed with the hand held shower) A hole in one of the towels. The stair carpet is threadbare and generally the hotel needs a major refurbishment . Breakfast has deteriorated. Boiled eggs cold. Bread not fresh. No toast available on Sunday !! Sadly but correctly my relatives will move us elsewhere next year.

First of all, the bathroom was really clean. Nevertheless, the bedroom was awful. So dirty that we even found a killed spider on the wall. Breakfast was a typical english breakfast. It didn't provide lots of options for vegans and it was really unhealthy to be honest. Room service was really helpful. All in all, it is a good hotel but just for a couple of days. I could not stand the thought of sleeping there for more than 4 nights.
