The hotel changed my booking from 2 adults +2 kids into 2 adults +1 kid! Then asked me to pay for extra single room!! They asked to have another single room (split as family) or checkout and find another room, staff are not smiling or helping. Room very very small and not clean (found some trash under the sofa) Location is good and nice breakfast
Whilst on a recent trip to London my wife and I decided we would book afternoon tea, on a recommendation we booked the Berkshire Hotel on Oxford Street. Located above The Disney store it seemed the ideal place as were hitting the shops that day. Upon arrival we were informed the Afternoon Tea I’d served in the Tea room on the first floor. We took the stairs and I must say as stairwells go this one was very elegant. We were met by Roberto who showed us to our table and then explained the menu and how it works. A very knowledgable and friendly person who obviously has many years of experience in the hotel industry, he made the afternoon very enjoyable. There was plenty to choose from on the menu and something I’ve never seen before on a Afternoon Tea menu, hot starters which I thought was a brilliant idea and something different. The choice of Tea was very good with 19 different types of Tea. The food arrived and I have to say it was very good indeed and plenty of it, so much so we were given what we couldn’t manage to eat to take away with us. I would highly recommend the Berkshire for an excellent afternoon tea at a very affordable price.…
Not so good… I used to book Radisson’s hotels and the standards are generally good. The room is small but ok for a night for business travel. Some works were just in front of my windows… complicated to sleep well after 8am when you did a nightshift. The walls are bit very thick : you can hear everyone passing near your room. The staff is quite nice anyway. And the location is amazing, close to Selfridges and on Oxford Street.
Writing this review having been in their newly refurbished bar. The service and hospitality was absolutely second to none. To the point where I asked for their names so I could write this review, something I never do. So thank you Aledria and Carlos for being truly hospitable, fantastic service, drinks and overall experience! I have stayed here a few times and it hugely over priced for what you get (location obviously the major factor). It would be amazing if you introduced bar stools at the bar to create more of a drinking/bar atmosphere. The spiced almonds were shocking haha
Only plus is location not value for money at all unfortunately. I would have expected a bit more for our money, considering friends had booked other hotels in the area for less and reviewed their experiences more positively
I arrived at the hotel shortly after 23.00 on Thursday evening. After a bit of a wait I was shown checked in and went up to my room to find a man in the bed. Thankfully he was asleep but as a lone female traveller it was unsettling to say the least. I went downstairs to tell the reception team. They initially didn’t believe me as their system shower there was no one in the room - I had to insist that there system was wrong and there indeed was someone in my bed. Rather than focusing on finding me another room they started calling around trying to find out who this man was and why he was in my room. I have no idea who the guy was, whether he was a guest or not but they woke him up to ask him when he had been checked in and by whom. Finally the second receptionist stopped a long phone conversation and tried to help. They eventually showed me up to a room but there was no security bolt on the door - which felt unsafe as they clearly did not have a grip on who was in their hotel. When I left in the morning the same gentleman on reception routinely asked me if I had had a good night and hoped to see me again. The answer is clearly no. This place is shabby, poorly managed and the team lack customer service experience.…
I booked and paid, through Booking, a room for 2 adult men, 90kg each, with an advance of 14 days. I immediately asked for a room with 2 single beds, they replied that it was not guaranteed, I did not worry because I paid for a room DOUBLE with 2 SINGLE BEDS. These "people" gave me a room with 1 single bed 150cm wide for 2 adult men weighing 90kg each...... so I paid exactly double the price of the nearby hotels to get half the service I wish you the same when you will go on vacation yourself, only in this way will you learn to use your brain... UNBELIVABLE
Room nice and clean, staffs are so friendly. The hotel just in the middle of shopping center, convenient to go out for walk , they are the lounge that you can meet up and they are very nice..overall of the services very good.
I arrived at the hotel late at night and the check in was fast - I was traveling for business and i expected that the reception staff knew a bit more about WTM. The room its self was not spacious but had a huge wardrobe. The size of the bath was ok and there were dispensers for the amenities. Towels were changed every day and the cleanliness - thanks to a very professional maid - was excellent. I had not booked breakfast but the restaurant staff were kind enough to offer me a couple of croissants every morning as that was all i needed. The quality of the croissants was excellent too. I experienced some noise early in the mornings because of the demolition in the next door building but that was not hotel's fault. My overall impression is positive and i would recommend Radisson Blu Edwardian Berkshire mainly because of the location …
The building opposte the street is in complete renovation, so there is continuous noise and thrembling. The hotel has some on going renovation too, and there are men at work with cutters and other working instruments even in the outside pavement. It takes ages to get the lift (there are 2only). Breakfast has no variety and bad quality. Room are so small and toilet is 2 square meters only. My room had one bed and a Sofa bed and we could not even walk around them. This is not a Radisson!!! Don’t book there!
