My wife & I stayed for a week. The hotel was cosy, with the rooms a little small, but it is London and that's to be expected. The highlight was the position - right on Gloucester Rd tube station which is on the circle/district lines and gives quick direct access to all London's main centres & attractions. The quaint bar...

We have stayed on 2 consecutive months and both weekend breaks the service has been excellent. Staff extremely helpful will book in luggage if you arrive early and room isn't ready. Excellent location easy on underground to west end, Waterloo walking distance to museums.

Excellent location, close to museums and shops, pubs and eateries, and underground station is right across. The rooms are pretty decent , though breakfast is basic .We stayed there in May 2016 for a week, and it was very convenient

Staff not friendly, room very small and dark. Only 4 hangers in wardrobe, lived out of suitcase. Curtains let light down the sides, consequently slept badly. Continental breakfast terrible. Melon and pineapple, no red fruits, croissants hard and tasteless. Staff couldn't have cared less. On departure, no have a nice day/safe journey home/or have you enjoyed you stay - nothing...

Beware of hotels advertised as sophisticated, boutique, sharp, etc such as the Rydges does. That generally means tiny rooms and no amenities, such as a pharmacy selling OTC drugs and newspapers or a coffee shop and a restaurant. Rydges has an independent restaurant pinned on to one end and a sorry excuse for a pub on the other but that’s...

Great location, quiet hotel, tiny rooms but great bathrooms and showers, good hotel pub and restaurant. 1 block from underground and great restaurants/cafes, walking distance to Harrods and other great shops, tour bus pick up in front of hotel

Very friendly staff, clean and well equipped rooms, great location. We did a Travel Zoo deal for £99 which included a full English breakfast (scrummy) and a glass of wine on arrival. Hotel has a cosy bar and well laid out restaurant. We had a superior Queen room which, although small, had everything you need. No need to take general...

My husband and I stayed here overnight recently as we were attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and wanted somewhere that was within walking distance. It was a lovely hotel and check in was very quick and smooth. We were actually upgraded to an executive suite which was huge, although we weren't really able to take advantage of...

Located about 100m from Gloucester Road station on Circle line the Rydges hotel is conveniently located for a visit to London both business or leisure. I've been upgraded to executive room which was quite spacious (for London hotels). Large TV screen and (what I find important) well placed power plugs. There is a USB plug as well to view pictures...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
