Lovely stay here while we explored London. The proximity of the train station is a definite plus. Breakfast is pretty basic but you're in London so there are plenty of other options. Beds are super comfortable.

Stayed here for four nights but it seemed like a lot longer. Ok it is in a very handy position, train straight from the airport and only a walk across the road. Lugging suitcases up the front steps, with no offer of help from staff, was horrendous. Not a great start to our stay. Found staff very offhand and not...

We spent 5 nights at the Rydges in Kensington and really enjoyed the property. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed and while cozy, have all the features you would want. The bathrooms are a bit tight, however, there is a very large tub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic with many wonderful restaurants nearby and...

Rydges is an ideally placed and well priced London Hotel. It is about one minute's walk from the Gloucester Road tube with a supermarket nearby, fast food and good cafes for breakfast or lunch. Rooms can be smallish, but well-priced. Gloucester Road is on the Heathrow line, so this is a good spot to come straight from the airport, or...

Stayed for two nights, travelling from Oslo, Norway. Got a room upgrade through our membership at Global Hotel Alliance. We also got to choose a welcome gift, wine or a fruit platter. We went for the fruit platter, but the fruit was not the freshest. I am sure we could change our minds, but we forgot to ask. Very friendly...

Friendly helpful reception staff. Upgraded to Executive double, which meant a slightly bigger room, on the 4th floor. Comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. Easy location for the V&A, Science and Natural History museums, Royal Albert Hall and Gloucester Road tube.

Stayed over for a trip to London. The hotel staff were friendly and quick to sort out my stay. The rooms were a really good size with all the amenities 24 hour service. The bathroom and toiletries were really good. Loved the shower and the water pressure was perfect. The iron and hairdryer were both of good quality as well...

Always a great stay because of the fantastic location and comfortable atmosphere. Short walk to tube station, great food and to Kensington gardens. Only negatives this stay was intermittent working use of the elevator which made uncomfortable check in / out, but always a good stay and highly recommended,

Perfect spot for Kensington, next to the tube and a short stroll to the Albert Hall. The welcome was very friendly and our expectations were raised with the news that we had a room upgrade. This was tempered by the fact that the bed filled 90% of the floor space so we can only assume that our original room was...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
