Booked 1 night stay because of location/ price value and promising pictures. First room given smelled so badly that I needed to ask for another room. In the second room the smell was somewhat tolerable and I could at least open the window. Everything was tiny plus tatty and nothing looked like the very well shot pictures. The wireless connection... More

I stopped at this hotel overnight with my wife for the Take That concert at Hyde Park... The 'Classic double room' cost £149.99 and I was very disappointed with the room. There was nothing classic about it, worn tired furnishings, walls that needed some paint on them....an uncomfortable double bed (more like 3/4 length double)..... The bathroom was tiny and... More

I booked this hotel for me and a friend to go to a concert in Hyde Park. We had a standard twin room. It smelt of stale cigarettes and was very musky. The bathroom was tiny and the sink was doll size. The beds were clean but quite small and lumpy. In all my experience was not a good one... More

I made the reservation very sure that this was not a 5 stars hotel, but what I got was kind of disapointing. I booked a single room and I found out at the hotel that single rooms don't have AC and it's a hotel policy that's not showing on the web page. The room needs renovation, the wallpaper was peeling... I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. The position is good since it is close to two underground stations (Bayswater-red line; queensway-yellow and green lines). In addition you can literally walk into Kensington's garden and take a bus to the Royal Albert Hall or Notting Hill, both only a few stops away. Before booking I read that... More

It started when we arrived early, we sat in the bar (which we discovered didn't serve alcohol) and tried to work with the intermittent wifi. Our expectations were not high as the price of the hotel on Booking.com was low but we have never stayed in a room that was so small, with a bathroom that was old, crumbling and... More

I booked this hotel based on reviews I read here but it turned out that most of the reviews actually don't reflect the true state of this pathetic place. I was given room 506 which no one should ever accept provided they decide to stay here even after reading my review. The ac was dribbling water in gushes, about which... More

Great location - very close to Bayswater & Queensway tube stations. Right next to the scenic & serene Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens, you can always go for a run / walk there. And if you are lucky, you could catch an art exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery. Theres a Waitrose at a gas station right next door for anything... More

It was a really pleasant hotel with a homely historic feel of welcome reception. The staff were outstanding! Helpful and very positive! An interesting labyrinth of getting to my room. The room for 1 man is small and limited views, but adequate. The windows however, do need to be more secure as it feels a bit thin and easily opened.... More

We stayed at the Berjaya Eden Park Hotel for four nights in early June and were very happy. LOCATION The hotel is very close to Hyde Park and Bayswater and it is actually cheaper to take a taxi from the Paddington tube station than take the train. It cost just over 5 pounds while two tube fares would have been... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
