Very good staff, great location but the rooms needed a bit of work. I saw walls that were chipped and had holes, but nothing bad. Staff and location made this a great hotel. Very pricy for what you get as well, but it is London.

I stayed at the hotel for one night and was really impressed by the size of the rooms, cleanliness and it's location. We choose this hotel as it was the most reasonably priced hotel in the area of choice. Highly recommended for any one visiting London and looking to stay in the heart of the city close to all attractions.

Dear Reviewer, I am most pleased to read that your stay with us was an enjoyable one. Our central location being only a short stroll to Oxford Street for shopping and a short walk to the underground is also extremely useful for the London traveller. I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future,...

I have stayed at The Cumberland on a number of occasions with friends as well as family and it has always been a pleasant experience. The rooms are not luxurious however they are clean and spacious. I would always recommend having a room with club access included as the snacks and drinks are an added bonus! This hotel is not...

I visited here with my wife and another couple in February 2012. We got a 2 night stay and a theatre ticket for a knockdown price. We arrived very early but the man on reception was willing to check us in a few hours before the allocated check in time but he could only offer us rooms on different floors,...

Our stay at The Cumberland was our first during a two-week trip to Europe. Jet-lagged, hungry and in need of courteous front desk staff, we were instead told that since we had requested "early arrival" that we would be charged an extra night at this hotel. This is not an inexpensive hotel, and we were not amused. My husband escalated...

I have stayed in London in many very nice hotels and this was definitely my worst experience. I was expecting a modern luxury hotel but in the reality the hotel had a personality of the ice cube. Lobby is huge and unwelcoming. Nobody was there to help with our bags which was very strange in this class of the hotel....

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
