I have stayed here before and had very mixed results from the visit from hell to excellent. My first return in three years, a weekend break with 3 sisters. I did check prior to booking and just before arriving that all would go well as I sold the idea to my sisters that it was a central place to stay...

Stayed in a Junior Suite which was very tired, white cup marks over the furniture, stained carpets and when removing the plug from the bath the water appeared in the shower tray of the shower! Weren't told that we could use the Executive Lounge - so missed out on that facility. Another of our party had an Executive Standard Room...

The Cumberland hotel made my overall trips to london so much easier and convenient as a person who travels a lot from Cornwall in the UK. First, the location of the hotel is perfect for tourists who loves shopping, as it is located in central london Marble Arch which is right next to Oxford Street and Regent Street. Other than...

I travel to London several times a year but never stayed in The Cumberland before. I was amazed by the friendly service we have received. An employee at the reception (Theano) has gone beyond and out of her way to accommodate all our needs and requests…. And always with a smile. She was an amazingly professional and polite person so...

Stayed here for a night when we went to the theatre, great staff, great service, very modern, good sized room...no complaints. We did opt for the upgraded room as it wasnt alot more (£30) and were very comfortable with a nice view. We booked via Hidden Gems.

Average 4 star hotel, in a good location next to the tube. Room size OK, with limited storage but let down by the noise, if you are a light sleeper take earplugs. Stayed in 4108 which I would not recommend, as this faces an inner courtyard that seems to have a jet engine installed that is constantly on and at...

we stayed here for one night with offer through Groupon. The first impressions were good with friendly reception staff. However the room was a complete disappointment - the toilet and bathroom had not been cleaned. The toilet was filthy quite frankly. The carpet hadn't been hoovered in the bedroom - all this is totally unacceptable for a 4* hotel. I...

Stayed for two nights for work purposes. Standard rooms ok but quite small. I think I've had bigger and better at a Premier Inn. Staff very courteous and helpful. Breakfast plentiful but didn't eat dinner there so can't comment on that. I guess for London it's standard pricing and for where it is, a very good location.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
