Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.

Very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel and Rooms lovely, clean and comfort. The restaurant Source had a good choice, but more gluten free options would be great.

The reception told me the rooms had a total makeover only 2 months ago and they are good, even though small. TV is large, the shower stall works well and although there is no writing table, there is a movable side table that doubles up as a desk over your armchair which is surprisingly comfortable. Lots of electric points and for your phones/laptop, free WiFi. Best of all the air-conditioning for each room is separate so you can choose to have heating, air condition, fan or dehumidifying at any time. A star was lost in my grading above because of the location on Goswell Road near the Barbican. This is really not an exciting place and cannot compare to the West End, Fitzrovia, Kensington or even the South Bank. That's why it's cheaper at this Citadines. The nearest tube station is Barbican and I kept having to change at King's Cross to get anywhere popular. There are few bars or restaurants at night or on the weekends that you would want to visit here. Ask for rooms facing the back you need some quiet for your work and sleep. There's a Sourced coffee shop attached to the hotel which is great for breakfast, so you don't need breakfast included in your room charge if it is extra.

spotlessly clean room with all amenities you need (although would have liked some mint tea bags to be available but that is a minor point) and so quiet which makes for a great nights sleep. Absolutely recommend!

Just simply wonderful! The Citadines hotel had a cozy atmosphere from when you entered the lobby, including an elegant and attractive cafėteria near the reception area. The room we had was modern, spacious and included all amenities, wi-fi, equipped kitchen area and delicate bathroom, not to forget the comfy bed. The staff were helpful and polite, always being attentive when we asked for anything. Since I personally love the Barbican area, the location was perfect. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful stay Citadines Barbican, we will certainly come back to stay.

Really good sized room with kitchen and big bathroom. It has wooden floors and got that modern updated touch to it which I like. Even tho it’s busy outside with traffic etc, it’s quiet inside the hotel room and I had no problem sleeping. Barbican tube station is right by which makes it super easy to get around! We also walked down to St. Pauls station which is 10 mins away to get straight on the central line as the weather was nice. Some of the staff are super friendly others were quiet and didn’t greet us when walkin’ past reception, but all in all a good hotel.
