The Citadines Barbican London is approximately 150 yards from the underground. It is within walking distance of St Pauls Cathedral and many other attractions. It was a fantastic location for the 6 of us spending a weekend in London and because it is an Aparthotel it provides you with flexibility regarding eating in or out. Great for spending a few... The rooms were very clean & spacious! I stayed 7 nights, so, it was great to have a kitchenette available & plenty of space to work and 'live'. The staff was helpful & the location worked well, close to the Tube station and within walking distance to several eateries.

The hotel looks tired from the outside and is tired on the inside, although it is currently undergoing a refurbishment the latest phase being the reception and ground floor areas, thus meant that there was no breakfast available in the hotel. However you do have a well equipped kitchenette to make yourself a basic meal. We were a party of... More

The Citadines Barbican was a first for me - I hadn't stayed in a self-service apartment before, and it fairness, the room was clean and well stocked for this purpose. There was a dishwasher, cutlery and crockery and a hob and microwave. For tourists trying to save money, I think the Citadines would be a good choice - no need... More

Dear Owen R, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are currently undergoing a full refurbishment to both our rooms and public areas. This will include a new dining concept for Citadines Barbican where we will work with an outside provider who will run a food outlet in our lobby area. We will then be able... More

My visit was spoilt by the reception on arrival. The first thing we were told on arrival was that they didn't have a room for us. Although we managed to resolve the problem it gave a bad taste to the visit. Other than that it was a good venue.

It's OK - the room smelt a bit odd, but nothing terrible. Has a proper kitchen area; a small bathroom; a good size bed. Towels are tiny and not great quality. Wifi was erratic. Wardrobe tiny and the hairdryer cannot be plugged in anywhere near a mirror. But it was quiet and felt very safe.

This is more of an apartment than a hotel. The room has a proper kitchen that contains pots, pans, dishes, flatware, all things one needs to cook. Microwave, fridge, stove, dishwasher. The room is cleaned once a week - you can pay more to have it done more often. You are responsible for taking the garbage to the disposal in... More

If you want to relive your past days living in a college dorm, then this is the place for you. While conveniently located near the Barbican tube stop and a very friendly staff, the low frills borders on cheap.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
