pros. stayed 2 weeks for business. Good location with 2 tube lines (bayswater station & queensway stn) within 5 to 10 min walk. Good variety of food choice nearby. supermarket also. Seems a safe area. clean & comfortable stay for a 2 star hotel. bring your own toothbrush etc. cons. 1.staircase not easy for elderly. 2.wooden floor (though carpeted) but...

The location is top ! close to subway, the rooms are poor, never had such a small double bed ever in a hotel, my feets where below the floor, small bathroom, small everything no storage at all. there are better options for this price.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Kensington Gardens hotel; we are sorry that you were disappointed on this occasion. It is well advertised on all channels selling our rooms, that Kensington Gardens Hotel is a basic 2 star property. We always offer our guests an alternative room, if available, should the room allocated not be...

The Hotel is lovely and well worth the price. I contacted them before I arrived in London to ask if I could tentatively extend my stay from the two nights I originally booked. The wonderful staff contacted me and said they would keep a room if they had a cancelation. I can't speak highly enough of the beautiful lady on...

Nicely located near two tube stations, Bayswater and Queensway. Spotless clean, recently refurbished, very nice service and kind people. I stayed in apt. number 10 which is a small single with shower in suite. There are some perks: clean towels, new soap bars, shampoos and conditioner every day. Also the kettle and hair dryer work fine and they supply some...

We needed a place to crash after seeing a show at the Royal Hall, given that most of London is expensive, the ~£80 for a night was a fair price. The hotel is located just north of Kensington Gardens, and has close tube stations and shops. It seems to be paired with another hotel two doors down, as check in...

Lovely Hotel in a very quiet spot. Super old building with decor in keeping with the period. Spotlessly clean rooms and modern bathrooms. Comfy beds, had a great night sleep. Only downsize is no lift and we were on the top floor! Very good value for money, would recommend.

I love this little hotel. There are not many room, no big lobby, no restaurant or bar... all this leads to a relaxing stay, quiet nights, great sleep. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Spotless bathroom, ample towels, coffee/tea service, and a nice tv to watch the BBC! Breakfast is offered next door at the adjoining hotel which...

I visited London for the first time and chose this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews. I had a lovely stay here. The location is good as Bayswater, Queensway and Notting Hill Gate underground stations are all within a walking distance. The service was very friendly. The room was very warm and not at all damp, as many buildings in London...

Normally I stay at the phoeinx hotel but it was full and I was offered the hotel that adjoins the phoeinx. Both hotels are managed by the same people and I have to say both have the same high standards of service, cleanliness. The location of both these hotels is great ,really handy for tube stations, plenty eating places etc. Everybody...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
