The service from the staff comes second only to the comfort of the bed! the room had two proper armchairs giving you full advantage of the lovely room and view of southbank, river and london eye. The reception areas were well done, smelled gorgeous. Gilrays was lovely, we had, again, great staff there, lovely drinks and a great table d'hote...

It is a long time since I experienced such a high level of comfort and customer service as I did this week at the Marriott County Hall. Yes the location is perfect - views of Westminster, short walk to Embankment - it is the perfect location for London, both business and tourist. But the high level of customer service while...

I stayed here overnight as I had a meeting in the morning in London. I paid 40STG via a pre-booked taxi to get here, in just 40 mins at around 8pm. The location is just next to the London eye so it is next to some of the most important London attractions - London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster. It...

This hotel is a historic landmark building right beside the London eye and Westminster Bridge with views of the Thames River, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Within the same building you also have Sea Life Aquarium and London Dungeon. We stayed in an executive Big Ben view room, you could see Big Ben from the window which was...

I was amazed by how friendly the staff of this Marriott hotel was when I stayed there. Usually staff at many hotels use their fake "smiles" to promote their guest service but not at this location. They greet you and talk to you with a real smile on there faces. The rooms offer a beautiful view near the river and...

Originally visited 6/4/2013-6/10/2013 Absolutely awesome location, although the set up of the hotel and its entrance require a good 10 minute walk to get to the riverwalk area. If you are a Marriott Rewards member with the appropriate level, the concierge lounge is a must. It blows away any other lounge out there. The breakfast, coffee varieties, afternoon snacks, liquor;...

Paid extra for a river view which was nice. Previous reviews mention a long walk from the lifts, which we had but really don't see as a problem. We were able to check in early which was nice, the room was a good size as was the en-suite. There was only 1 robe in the room and it took 2...

Fantastic location and wonderful rooms. I had 209 which was on the side of the building with views to the East of the Thames (you could see the river) and the London Eye yet really quiet - overlooking parks/gardens and did not hear Big Ben once thankfully! The rooms have both old and new glazing and so are sound proof...

Kind of old appointments but great staff, fantastic location. You can walk to so many attractions from there. Bar overlooking Big Ben, quite a view. ATM across the street in the hospital lobby. I had heard about English food but I was not prepared for how absolutely horrible the food was over there. Even the hotel restaurant was only so...

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
