We've recently stayed for 2 nights in room 208, one of the junior suites and can't fault it! Bed was lovely and comfy, room was clean, wonderful bath, the TV at the end of the bed was great, staff were friendly and location was awesome! Adding a covid pack per guest (mask, hand wipes & gloves) was an excellent touch. Would definitely stay here again!
I have stayed in this hotel for several times as I like it there especially for its location. Small hotel with just a few floors, lift available anyway. Just a few minutes walk to the tube stations - Bayswater and Queensway, is really convenient, cafes and convenience stores are around as well. Service at standard and nothing to complain indeed. Superior Room and Junior Suite are both quite nice, with sufficient space to place the luggages.
We made the mistake of travelling to the UK just as the big changes resulting from the coronavirus pandemic hit. But we still enjoyed four nights in this boutique hotel in a lovely spot just off Hyde Park. We had stayed here before and also eaten vegan food in the restaurant a few times. We arrived super early (around 8am) and couldn't check in early without a fee and were asked to return for the 2pm check-in time. This felt a little strange as the hotel was not busy due to the cancellations resulting from the virus. After a long flight from Australia, we decided to take vegan breakfast in the hotel and then kill time walking in Hyde Park and around the local area before returning to the hotel at about 1.30pm. We still had to wait to check-in, that felt ridiculous and more like the hotel was trying to make a point of checking in on time. We were very pleased with our room (number 15), up a flight of stairs to just two rooms and facing the mews out the back of the hotel and so very quiet. The room was spacious and well furnished, in a style we particularly like but appreciate others might find the dark vibe a bit confronting. Our room rate included continental breakfast and we filled up well on that every day in the very relaxing Cafe Forty One. Having a fully vegan restaurant on-site is a huge bonus for us, even if its opening hours were very restricted at this unusual time. The location is great, minutes from Hyde Park and public transport plus close to lovely shopping and food in Notting Hill (the vegan Brasserie at Cloud Twelve was a gem of a find during this stay and Farmacy was again excellent, until everything closed down due to the virus!). Our stay was not entirely without issues, though. Our room had a recurring electrical problem which meant flashing lights and power coming on and going off for several minutes every time the key card was re-entered into the switch. An initial resolution of this problem didn't last, so we just got used to this. A bigger problem was the (free) wi-fi, which had an expired SSL certificate and was unable to connect at all on my work laptop due to its different timezone, an issue never encountered in any other hotel. The lack of wi-fi access was annoying when trying to work remotely from this hotel and meant purchasing data from an external provider. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and the location was perfect for avoiding the city during the virus issues. The vegan restaurant is the main drawcard for us and we commend the hotel for taking this step.…
We stayed here Friday 6th-Sunday 8th March. I booked this hotel stay via booking.com on the basis that it was described as a 4* boutique hotel. I booked on a ‘pay at the property’ basis at a rate of £314.82 for 2 nights including breakfast. Prior to our arrival £148.41 was debited on Thursday 5th March (pre-authorised) from the card I booked with on booking.com. On arrival an amount of £364 was debited from another card for the full amount of the stay plus a £50 deposit. This was however before we saw our room. Our first room nm 115 was awful. There were stains on the carpet, furniture scuffed, and the windows filthy, it was definitely not the boutique description your website portrays. We were immediately moved to another room nm 105. Again there were stains on the carpet, furniture and walls looking worse for wear and the room again did not feel comfortable. By this time it was 11pm at night and had you not pre-authorised nearly £500 for our £315 stay we would have checked out and found ourselves another hotel After speaking to someone on reception they said they would find us another room for our 2nd night stay. We moved to that room Saturday morning which again was not up to standard - it was grubby and not to the standard we would expect. The bath and sink were filthy, as were the windows and there was no wardrobe, just a make shift rail next to the bed and the room had a funny smell and was hot and no AC. We complained again at reception when we left at 2pm to a wedding. The woman offered us to check out and a 50% discount. We explained we were about to get into a taxi to a wedding and therefore couldn’t check out. I explained I was not happy to pay at all. We checked out this morning and none of this has been resolved. There were no notes on our account about the conversation and my cards are still showing the pre-authorised amounts for nearly £500!!!!! We had to leave without any resolution as we had a train to catch. I left my number for a manager to call me and my email address when we checked out at 9.30am today and have also emailed - I’ve heard nothing. I would like this resolving ASAP and the money returning. I have taken pictures of the 3 rooms and the state they were in (but it only allows me to post 10 on here) I am so disappointed as this was supposed to be a relaxing stay for us both and it has been anything but.…
Lovely little hotel , close to numerous restaurants and cafes . Sainsbury's and tesco a few steps away. Amazing location, as 2 tube stations and bus stops around within a few 100meters. Staff is lovely and friendly.
It's a very well located boutique hotel near Kensignton Palace, quite place yo blocks from underground. People is kind and vegan breskfast is on the average. Ir You order from menu is amazing. You must take care of your belongins during breskfast, brunch or lunch time. There is an entrance door from street without any security. Rooms and amentinies are very confortable.
We stayed there because we had an evening engagement and the location was convenient. Reception was very good and all the other staff we met were helpful. The room was pleasant and had excellent bed-side reading lamps, but the end of the room (119) furthest from the window was very dark. I had not realised that the food was exclusively vegan. If I had, then I wouldn't have ordered the 'full English' because, of course, it was totally meatless and no eggs. As far as it went it was OK but all in all not to my taste I am afraid (although I have no other real experience of this sort of food). Checkout was efficient.
The reception was beyond rude They were mad at us for asking them to open a sofa bed They refused to give us a receipt when we checked out The only good thing is that this hotel is near to the queensway and bayswater station
Good location! Very near to 2 tube stations and many good restaurants and eateries. This is our 2nd trip to London as well as 2nd time staying here. First trip was in Dec 18, and we stayed in Room 306 and were rather impressed by the room layout and heated bathroom floor. This time, we stayed in Room 212. The room layout was excellent and spacious. However, the bathroom was very small and its floor was bitter cold. Not sure whether only bigger bathrooms have heated floors. Room 306’s bathroom floor was heated. Also there was water seepage at the bathroom door into the room’s carpet. Luckily there wasn’t any foul smell, although the bathroom does have a rather queer drainage smell. I think this hotel seriously needs a fresh coat of paint in the rooms, change of lighting (to brighter), and bathroom floor heating system.…
The room was clean and tidy, although there was a slight smell of air freshener in the basement room. We had to wander passed the kitchens to get to the room and often we had to walk over piles laundry. However, for central London it was a good price and really convenient to Queensway and Bayswater tube. Would stay again.
