Neighborhood
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.

The hotel is very nice, the staff are very helpful and accommodating, the facilities are also pretty good. The negatives were whilst the bathroom looked modern and well design with a nice large shower. The shower did not have a door and was behind a glass screen, this was fine other than every minute the water was running it was flooding the bathroom. Not a relaxing or pleasant shower for well over £100 a night! I often use IHG hotels around the world to maintain my status and points. When my usual property was fully booked I went for the hotel named after the station I was using..this hotel is nowhere near King's Cross station especially if you have any luggage with you.

Dear Trigger85, Thank you for choosing Crowne Plaza London-Kings Cross and for taking the time to share your experience following your recent stay with us. I would like to start by apologising to you for the inconvenience occurred by the way the bathroom was designed, which caused the shower water to overflow the floor. Also, our hotel is conveniently located 10-15 min away from Kings-Cross/St Pancras International stations. You can easily make the journey by taxi within 5-7 min or by taking the bus no 63 ( just 3 stops away). On a different note, I am glad that overall you found the hotel nice, facilities good and our staff to be helpful. Many thanks again for your valuable feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back in the nearest future. Best Regards, Florentina Guest Services Manager

We visited the Crown Plaza for an overnight stay whilst attending a show at The Novello theatre Aldwych. We travelled by train to Kings Cross and it was an ideal location for both the theatre and the railway station. The walk to the hotel was approximately10 minutes and the walk to the theatre about 25 minutes. The hotel was very plush and we were allocated a lovely room on the third floor and were pleasantly surprised to find two double beds as opposed to the singles which we normally have. It was tastefully decorated and very spacious with an excellent walk-in power shower. There were ample beverages including tea coffee and hot chocolate. The beds were very comfy and we had an excellent nights sleep. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a huge selection of hot and cold items and cereals yoghurts and Danish pastries. I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad which was extremely tasty.Overall a very pleasant stay.We were able to access our room at 10.30 which was brilliant as it’s saved trekking around passing the time. Check in was very quick and the staff were very courteous and friendly. We would certainly recommend this hotel and will return again in the near future.

Hotel was fine but breakfast was an extortionate £20 each and entrance to the (small and very busy) pool etc was £10.50 for three of us. I’m a regular international business traveller and all my yeaa as is I have never known a hotel to charge residents for using the pool ☹️

Dear Nattyboy888, Thank you very much for sharing a review regarding your experience with us at Crowne Plaza London - Kings Cross. I am glad to know that you found our property fine and the overall experience was on the same level. With regard to the concerns you mentioned, for the sake of the truth, I would like to highlight that the price for a Full English Breakfast is £17.95 per each person and the same can be pre-booked and it's even cheaper £14.95. A lighter breakfast can be enjoyed at our Bloom Kitchen & Bar and the price gets even cheaper. All our breakfast rates are below £20.00 as mentioned by you in your review. Alternatively, our concierge team is more that eager to provide information to all our Guests as they can enjoy a different breakfast somewhere else, a breakfast for all budgets. I am also sorry that you did not appreciate the daily nominal fee required to use the spa facilities £3.50 for adults and £1.50 for children. These information are available on social media as Guests can be aware of them before booking a room with us. This goes to prove that some charges are real but not "hidden" as you described. Thank you once again and we all look forward to your next visit. Best Regards, Gennaro Neto Guest Services Manager

Paid 140 for a family room which stated Bed and Breakfast, checked in only to be told that the price I paid was only for the adults staying in the room and the children were extra - I queried this and was told tough nothing they could do as it was hotel policy. I asked why my booking stated bed and breakfast and no where did it state otherwise but again I was told that nothing could be done and it was hotel policy. Lovely hotel but no one needs nasty surprises. Oh and the walk to the underground is a bit of a killer for young children.

Dear Mr. RobRog Thank you very much for taking the time to share a review concerning your recent experience with us at Crowne Plaza Kings Cross. I am extremely sorry to hear that you felt surprised about the breakfast included for only 2 adults. I personally investigated the matter but your reservation states “includes breakfast for one or two adults sharing a room” though the room you booked can accommodate up to 4 people. Hence, the payment for the breakfast for 2 children is required as per our Hotel policy and Reception team could not amend it. Your reservation was created directly through IHG Central Reservation who can provide you further clarifications about the concerns you raised in your review. From our side, we have just followed instructions as per reservation received. I do hope that you this small inconvenience does not deter you from coming back to Crowne Plaza Kings Cross. We do hope to welcome you back very soon. Best Regards, Gennaro Neto Guest Services Manager

Hotel was clean, comfortable and family friendly. Nice bar and restaurant. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Beds comfortable and on suite spotless. Hotel is in a good location, short taxi hop to the theatre cost £8. Could have easily have walked, but the little one wasn’t feeling great. I will use again on our next visit in the summer.
