All that could go wrong went wrong. This was 5 nights of misery. Wifi was weak. Rollaway bed was in bad shape (impossible to sleep on) Room was hot due to central AC being upgraded and it took lots of begging and sweating (literally) to get a portable AC unit. The maids broke the toilet seat and it took 24 hours for it to be addressed. The phone in the room was inoperable so we were disconnected from the front desk and had to go down to the lobby to communicate. The room fridge barely cooled our beverages. The hotel location was the only positive aspect of our stay.

Wow wow and more wow , checked in extremely late after extensive travel , reception was extremely welcoming which made a bell of a day even better Forgetting what time it was expecting room service but they soon recommended an alternative which was spot on Got to my room and wow again was 200% better , duplex room sited on the 6th floor Great lounge , with couch and dining table then upstairs with bed and full size bathroom There then was a balcony which overlooked the great views of the London skyline Bathroom was a full size bath with separate shower cubicle Breakfast could be taken in the club lounge for diamond members continental or in the restaurant which had a full hot and cold offering The staff could not be better everyone was so accommodating and friendly Located across the road from tube station it really is an ideal for business or pleasure There is also a secret garden which looked great for al fresco dining Well done double tree was really impressed and will be my preferred hotel of choice in that area

Room was basic , poor maintenance, no mini bar, the desk with stains and cracks all over, the quality of the mattress terrible , the light in the toilet blinking and the air conditioning did not cool enough. In overall it was chosen for me since my friends stayed there because of the marathon but was not my first choice.

My partner and I stayed here for 12 days. On arrival we went straight up to our room as we had used the app to check in, which for us is great, the room was basic and for the price paid, very average (no water in the room on arrival as stated for instance) Still no air con so as others have said, the loud AC unit was still in each room and it meant the room window had to remain open as it was impossible to stay in the room without the AC on, very noisy traffic kept us awake or would wake us up throughout the night due to the window being open. Annoying catch 22. Housekeeping were very hit and miss, either not turning up, turning up very early or very late (5/6pm) meant it was tricky managing our day around that. Breakfast was okay, again, very sub par. Pancake station, hot breakfast, continental were served every morning but you could tell it was the most hated service of the day. The staff overall were perfectly pleasant, we ate in the restaurant frequently and were often served by Alvin, he was great, very attentive and friendly. One night in the restaurant I did explain to a member of staff (and showed a video) that there was a mouse zipping about and my concern was laughed away which was unfortunate. The hotel is very dated in areas and not everything is attended to, the executive lounge had mouldy fruit and sufficiently so that there were flies. It was a shame the outdoor area also wasn’t kept tidy, as the hotel was often too warm it would’ve been a nice area to use, but a lot of time was spent shuffling the endless Secret Garden customers through these areas and sections were unusable due to birthday parties booking out the area, leaving it awkward for actual hotel guests to relax outside. It is in a great location for the tube and for those like myself with claustrophobia or anxiety, yet still want to see the city, outside the tube station you can catch a Big Bus tour, you can keep track of the buses arrival via an app and it’s a great way to see the city. This was our first stay in London, it did dampen our trip sufficiently so and would not return to this hotel. Definitely not currently worth the money.

Visited with my wife as we were staying in London for birthday celebrations. Hospitable staff, clean room and great location. I recommend to anyone staying in the area and with a few structural updates it would be perfect.

Where to start, firstly I got an early checkin and an upgrade, after which it goes downhill. Dark, depressing, with a colour scheme of brown and beige, this place seriously needs a redesign. Friendly enough staff except for checkout when one lady barely acknowledged my point about the TV coming on in the night and the need to unplug it. Otherwise dark and depressing everywhere particularly corridors and the executive lounge. Speaking of which don’t bother a warm glass of cheap wine with one cold unidentifiable piece of food is really not acceptable, go visit the Hilton Tower bridge to see how it should be done. This simply tick boxes the Hilton requirements and it felt like it. More grey and brown in my room, with not a picture on any wall or a coloured cushion. Dirty windows, minimal double glassing with one panel actually lying on the floor. Breakfast managed to look old and unappealing at 6.45 in the morning, really? Again the bare minimum. Go elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

Using the Hilton Honors App it was very easy to check in remotely and head to our room without needing to queue at reception. The room itself was an acceptable size for London however the hotel has been so hastily renovated it is severely lacking in finishing touches. When using the wall sockets they were wobbling and in some cases coming away from the wall. The air conditioning was not working and instead they had substituted a stand up unit which was very noisy. Housekeeping was also dreadful, our room wasn’t made up until past 6pm and my face cloth was mistaken for a towel and taken away. The WiFi was awful, it didn’t actually reach our room but we were barely in our room much so that wasn’t a problem. If you were needing to do some work it would most certainly be a problem. Breakfast was ok, the restaurant is small and cramped with only one coffee machine to cater the whole room. A decent spread of food and pancake machine which was fun. Overall I would have expected more from a Hilton branch in London considering what you pay. I will be in no hurry to return.

We had Champagne Afternoon Tea here and it was really poor. The scones were not fresh, boring, dry sandwiches. We were sat in the garden where we were joined by a chap smoking a cigar. Sat just behind a children's music play group with the door open that was extremely noisy.

Staying here was like staying in that room at your aunts that she stored all her old furniture in. Lots of it. Lights etc. uplugged. Lights not working. No coffee/tea/bottled water. No info on hotel at all including room service. Wifi was very weak. Bathtub had a large tile which had come off and been kind of set back in ajar. Bathtub didn't drain well. Hall was dark with lights that came on after you walked by. As a woman I don't like going in to dark hallways. The staff was good with the exception of a woman to the right at a small desk at check in. The wait was long and she finally decided to stop gossiping with her friend and help me after about 15 minutes. Concierge Egzon was awesome! He alone could bring me back. Room was clean. Lots of fluffy towels. Staff in restaurant was on top of it and kind. The location could not be better. Right across from the Glouster Road Tube station. Although they are working on the air conditioner the stand alone unit in the room looked new and was fairly quiet. I would stay here again for the location alone.

For our Wedding Anniversary we booked this Champagne afternoon tea in the Secret Garden. This is part of the Doubletree by Hilton hotel chain in Kensington where they have these air-conditioned pods in the garden. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was very nice and we enjoyed the experience. It was after we had finished that it appears to have gone downhill. We had a glass of wine prior to the tea, this is an extra so you pay on leaving. The hotel had a problem processing my debit card due to connection problems with their card reader and asked if I had cash, which on this occasion I did. I have since found out they processed my debit card as well. If you try and contact the hotel they either cut you off or do not answer the call. Eventually I got through to the bar only to be told the manager would ring me which has not happened.
