Gues service whilst at the hotel is AMAZING ;-D Rooms are sized and good… Staff is however the real plus + Watch out for their “security deposit scheme” takes forever if it will EVER BE RETURNED - starting to have my doubts. Confirmed and simple task that simply never happens…
I stay here regularly and sadly the standards are becoming poorer as time progresses. Although the rooms and facilities are of good quality, the service is getting worse and not what I would expect for a 4/5 star hotel. The front office staff seem to want to ‘sell’ you everything. From short term parking to having a roller bed in your room. As a frequent visitor the hotel they have on occasion ‘offered’ me upgrades to my room which Ive refused as usually I am travelling on my own. This one time I took them up on their offer (as I was bringing my children with me) and they fell completely short, over promising and under delivering. When I called them ahead of booking they looked at my file and said they would put rollerbeds in the room and provide parking. When I arrived they apologised for not having sorted out the roller bed as there was an ‘admin error’. They then tried to charge me 35 pound per day and mumbled something about commission. (the public car park underneath the building was cheaper so we went there instead.) They talked through facilities including the use of the gym making it clear my children would not be able to use it on the 1st jan. however they didn’t mention they would be closing early the day before so when we turned up at reception dressed for the pool, the reception team challenged me saying it ‘they made sure they told everyone the gym was closing early’. When I explained they did not explain this to me or my family there simple response was to apologise but make no attempt to make any amends. In terms of customer service, overall there seems to be no motivation to make sure the customer is happy. They seem to believe saying sorry over and over again is enough with no initiative to offer alternative solutions. There is little to no good will being presented. Very disappointed this time round …
This was our first time visiting this hotel and what a beautiful hotel it is. The views over the Thames from our bedroom were absolutely stunning, the rooms are spacious and the bed was so comfortable. All of the staff within the hotel were amazing, especially Kataldo the bar manager who couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
This is the best hotel in Canary Worth. The rooms are perfectly sized and convenient for travel. Everything is perfectly situated. They have a wonderful gym next door with a pool and all the facilities. The staff is so thoughtful and attentive. I have been in several hotels and the service here was superior. It is near the dlr and metro lines. Highly recommend it whether you are working or on vacation. Canary wharf has really expanded its offerings in the last few years and is very pleasant to stay.
The front office manager was extremely rude, patronising and unprofessional. It was my 40th birthday and I came to celebrate with my friends. During our stay, Jay asked me and my friends to cover up as we had wore our bikinis to enter the Spa. Although we only wore Bikini tops, we were covered from waist to our feet with towels wrapped around us. Jay informed us that it was not appropriate to wear bikinis in the Lobby as it would make guests feel uncomfortable. Please note that there were no guests in the Lobby during this time and this can be confirmed by checking the surveillance. She mentioned this on 3 occasions and on the third occasions stated, " please tell your friends to cover up", to which I replied they are covered up and she mentioned I dis not see this. This is deemed as harrasment. I kindly asked Jay, please can you kindly inform me where it states that we could not dress this way in the hotel policy. Jay informed me that it was not in the hotel policy but this was her policy as she was the Front office manager. I asked to speak to the manager as I felt harrased, belittled. As a guest, it was not appropriate for Jay to speak to me in this tone. My understanding is that if we pay for a room, I should not be questioned or harrased regarding the clothing I wore. we specifically booked the hotel for the Spa facility. I felt like this was an infringement of Human rights. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and never been harrased regarding the clothing I have wore. Jay called Dusko Babic the hotel manager as I requested to speak to someone senior. I kindly informed Dusko how I felt and he said that it was not appropriate in a 5 star hotel to dress in bikini tops. Please bear in mind that Dusko had not recieved any complaints from his guests regarding the type of clothing we wore. When I expressed my concerns he said that although we have not recieved any complaints, he did not want to trigger a complaint. I kindly told him that Jay was rude and I have never been told what to wear by a staff member. I said " I have stayed at 5 star hotels and wore clothes which were slightly revealing but never been questioned or belittled. I mentioned that the staff at Marriot Hotel have never raised concerns regarding my dress code, to which he replied Marriot is not a 5 star hotel, we are a 5 star hotel with High clientele, again making me feel humiliated and belittling me. He then stated that this type of clothing would not be acceptable at The Dorchester. Please note that this had no relevance to the concerns I was raising. I asked Dusko so would the hotel have a problem if i wore a Halter neck short dress, to which he replied that there is a difference between wearing a dress and bikini. I have never felt so humiliated, belittled and distressed by a member of staff. When I asked to see the hotel policy which states that the hotel specifically had a dress code, he stated that its not in the hotel policy. My birthday was ruined, I could not enjoy my stay and I would like to escalate this to Teresa Brown.…
We had one night here, it was just right for us, the location is great, right on the river, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Also there's a reasonably priced car park underneath the hotel. The staff are without exception very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, very clean and well equipped, fat fluffy towels and bathrobes and upmarket toiletries. We didn't use the bar or restaurant so can't comment there. For London this hotel was good value. We will definitely return.
The first thing to mention is that staff are exceptional. Shout out to Jay for assisting me with my booking and being so helpful! We were upgraded to a premier riverview room-the room was clean and neat although could use upgrading as carpets etc are a bit old. It was a bit odd not to have tea facilities and iron / iron board in the room considering the 5 star status however these were promptly provided upon request. It would have been useful to have a room service menu accessible. The room had temperature control which was nice. The bathroom/ toilet was fabulous and spacious. I loved the wide mirrors and l’occitane toiletries. The bathrobes were soft and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing-with the exception of the pancakes/ waffles- the batter I believe needs to be reviewed. The omelette was wonderful. The fruit salad was very good. Location is excellent- the riverside is perfect for an evening summer stroll and not too far from tube stations. Parking was easy on site and within walking distance. Overall wonderful stay-although perhaps not quite 5 star.…
Just returned from a weekend away in London. We stayed at this hotel. First thing I habe to say is the valet/coinsage chap gave a very friendly welcome. I forgot his name but he remembered my name and the other chap did and alway greeted me with a hello Mr....... all the staff I meet was very polite. We never eat at the hotel and only visited the health club / swimming pool once. Would not pay the monthly membership for that club. I belive its virgin active. Changing rooms was dirty and the pool area was not great. Room was big and very comfortable. Towels was lovely and thick My only complaint was that you jad to ask for tea and coffee facilities which was not a problem but when it arrived I was kind of expecting a nicer range of coffees not the cheap horrible nescafe sachets. And being a five star hotel I Didnot expect wooden stirrers. You get spoons in a Premier Inn.even a nespresso would of been a good idea. For the cost of the rooms I guess I expected a bit more from the coffee making facilities. Apart from that it's in a great location to explore canary wharf.…
The best hotel in London! i loved the experience so welcoming, the room was spotless and spacious and had a really nice designed bathroom and one of the highlights of the trip was the kind waiter, Cataldo he was giving gentlemen. definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone the location is also so stunning there is an amazing view of th river and city lights from the high windows and in a really pleasing area it is so nicely designed and many different restaurants around . the breakfast and dinner was so perfect and the food was spectacular the hotel also has a tennis court, spas and swimming pool and much more facilities. you should 100% go here for anyone 👍
As I sit here, about to check out of this hotel, I must honestly say this is SO FAR from 5*. The hotel is tired. A massage booked with a party thumping below. A ‘river view’ staring at a roof. Extra cost to include breakfast…. No wonder it is empty!
