Stayed at this hotel on December 20th after booking through booking.com. Prior to arrival we contacted the hotel about storing our luggage and customer service replied pretty much straight away! Very impressed with the speedy response.
We arrived at about 9am and although check in isn’t until 3pm we were able to leave our luggage in the storage room with no additional charge so we could explore London.
The location is close to Bayswater tube station. Probably about a 5 minute walk. Notting Hill Gate is also not very far and is around a 10 minute walk.
When we checked in we had room G118. It was on the ground floor - same as reception. We had asked for a twin room and the room had a double and a single bed. The room had a wardrobe, TV, kettle, Tea / coffee. The bathroom was quite small but adequate for us and it was clean. I slept very well…probably the best I’d slept in a while! Although my friend was woken up by a pigeon cooing on the windowsill at 3am! Overall we were happy with the room and it met our needs for the one night stay.
We don’t eat in the restaurant so I can comment on this. There are lots of lovely places to eat close by if you choose not to eat at the hotel.
I would stay again. It was good value for money and the location is pretty good too - it’s on a quiet road so you’re not having to listen to traffic / trains all night!

This hotel where we stayed at the end of September has an exceptional location because it has three stops of different lines plus the bus stops very close It is in a beautiful and quiet area two minutes walk from Notting Hill, full of bars, supermarkets and shops within walking distance The hotel is very clean (they clean the rooms and change towels every day). It is not furnished in a modern way but it is not bad I'd choose it a thousand more times!

My opinion is highly regarded due to my 35 years of experience in luxury hospitality, and I don’t give reviews but i am making an exception for Bayswater Inn. First certainly the best ban for your buck in London, the facilities are superb and the property is very clean and tidy, from the front desk to the house keeping staff every one is joyfully helpful and offer assistance and guidance with any queries. The location is exceptional and there are a myriad of bars and restaurants within 5 a mins walk, the tube is 7 mins and Uber arrives in 3 minutes. I high recommend Bayswater to all and sundry it a perfect hotel for persons eight to eighty, visually challenged or physically challenged as well, not to be missed is the bowling and ice skating venue 10 mins walk. Staff was very nice, the beds in the room were comfortable, and the location was very good. However, these were the only good things about our stay. We booked the breakfast for the whole stay, and it was very disappointing, with very low variety and the quality was not good either for the high price. In terms of the room, when we arrived there were used towels in the closet, and the bathroom was very small compared to the pictures we had seen. The room air conditioner did not work properly and was quite loud. Overall the hotel does not seem like a four star hotel.

Our room was in the basement and it was appalling. It looked like we were down where they keep the cleaning stuff! There was no carpet outside our room so this morning early, we were woken to the sound of vacuum cleaners or cleaning trolleys being dragged past our room. It was hideously noisy outside as well which didn’t help. We also had laundry constantly being chucked down (see photo of the window to the room and what would be our view!) The room was too small. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny. The sink overhangs the toilet so you have to sit at an angle! The beds were ok and it was mostly clean. The air con didn’t work and the windows are covered over with a curtain thing that doesn’t open and a blind. It was so stuffy in there, we both felt awful. This room was £225 for the night. It’s was worth £75 at best. Oh and even though I made my feeling very clear at reception, they still thought it ok to charge me £27 for breakfast. It’s the 3rd time I’ve stayed here because it’s near Hyde Park, but I can safely say I will not return.

I stayed at this hotel for ten nights and had a pleasant experience overall. The room was small but spotlessly clean, which I really appreciated. While the space was compact, it was well-organized, and the essentials were all in good condition. The staff (Dilanga, Anastasia and Denise) was friendly and attentive throughout my stay. Given the location and the quality of the service, I found the price to be very reasonable, offering a good price/quality balance. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly option.

I first stayed at this hotel in March this year and since then it had become my preferred choice when in London on business. It's in a nice quiet leafy square and well located for Paddington. However, following my visit this week, I cannot recommend it and will think carefully about re-booking here again.
It's basically 5 houses knocked together and it is quite dated. It's popular with tour groups.
There are 2 categories of double rooms; basic and deluxe. On my first stay, I was upgraded free of charge on check in to a deluxe room.
Ive stayed in probably 8 different rooms and they all vary. The ones on the upper floors are preferable as you can open the windows - first floor ones the windows cant be opened as they dont want you to go on the balconies. Strangely, the water pressure can be very low in some of the bathrooms and ok in some of the others.
On my most recent stay, I was given a basic double room in the basement. The basement is awful, dark, hot, noisy and with cleaning trolleys and cleaning paraphernalia spilling out of cupboards. The room I was offered was like a prison cell and had a most unpleasant odour. You couldn't open the window, there was an air conditioning unit outside the room and pigeon droppings all over the window sill and floor outside. I went back to reception and asked to be moved and was offered an accessible room on the ground floor that had TWO air conditioning units outside the window and two pigeons actually nesting there!! I returned to reception to find another guest also asking to be moved from the basement (clearly these rooms are terrible -see the other reviews). All I wanted was a room on a higher floor. It was 4PM and not all guests had checked in so I cant believe that there weren't other rooms available.
However, I was told that they couldn't move me unless I paid to upgrade or they could refund me the cost of the room and I could go elsewhere. What happened to rewarding loyalty? I couldn't move hotels as I had to leave for a social event and despite asking for the upgrade to be granted free of charge (as it was on my first stay), I reluctantly paid the additional fee to get a room on the first floor. The room was just ok, nothing special and the bed was pushed up against the wall. However, what annoyed me is that on the first stay, I was given a free upgrade, but on this stay, having stayed 8/9 times, this wasnt offered, despite the receptionist recognising me.
So, the hotel is a real mixed bag and basically a lottery on what room you will get and equally what service you will get. They certainly dont reward loyal custom, so I will take mine elsewhere.
Also note that many of the hotels reviews are from contributors with just one review to their name - draw your own conclusions.

Dear Paul, It sounds like you had a disappointing experience during your most recent stay at the hotel. I'm sorry to hear that your expectations were not met and that the quality of the rooms and service fell short of what you had experienced on previous visits. It's frustrating when the quality of accommodations varies so much, especially when you have come to expect a certain standard from a place you've stayed at multiple times. The issues you described with the basement room, lack of room options, and the handling of your request for an upgrade are certainly concerning. It's understandable that you would feel let down and frustrated by the overall experience. Consistency in both the quality of rooms and the level of service is crucial for any hotel to maintain a loyal customer base. It's unfortunate that your loyalty was not rewarded with the same level of service and accommodations that you had received during your first stay. We must mention that free upgrades are not something we can offer at all times even to the returning or long staying guests. This is subject to availability and it is not up to the staff member to decide as the reservations team has to manage allocations not just for one day but for the following days as well. Your feedback is valuable and can help the hotel identify areas for improvement. It's important for hotels to listen to guest feedback and strive to provide a consistent and positive experience for all guests. Thank you for sharing your experience, but our reviews are from genuine customers. Not all guest are registered with TripAdvisor but they do it for the service we provide.

The location is very good because you are 7 minutes from the red line metro stop and about 5/10 of Notting Hill on foot.
As for the hotel it does not have the quality of a four star hotel from Spain and is expensive for what they offer. However, in London it is the best as the cleanliness is good and well located, but still expensive for what it offers.
The room is very small and the walls need to be painted and fixed just as the toilets need a renovation.
My bed mattress was sinking down the middle because what was uncomfortable and the window overlooked an inner courtyard.
The staff was very friendly and they kept our luggage after check out on the last day.

This is a clean and cheap hotel in a fabulous location a few minutes walk from Kensington Gardens and Bayswater tube. The greeting wasn’t great after a long journey and insisted on photo ID to check in (never encountered this before in the UK) and rather rude when I had to search my wallet for my work id which was eventually accepted! Left leg gave is on an open shelf in the breakfast room, so really is at your own risk and when we left, I just walked in and took it unquestioned 🤷🏼♀️ Room was small, but clean and bathroom was immaculate. Beds were comfy. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk are supplied with a kettle, coffee machine and bottled water. There is air con in the room, which works 🙌🏼 On the down side, there is no soundproofing so you hear what’s going on in the neighbouring rooms, outside and the outside air con units all night…😬
If you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep and you’re a heavy sleeper, it’s great for £87.50 room only per night 🙌🏼

Dear Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you appreciated our clean facilities, great location, and the comfort of our beds. It’s also good to know that the air conditioning met your expectations. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the ID requirement. We have clearly mentioned this across all booking platforms and this is normal in many London hotels. It is strange that you never came across as this is a normal practise. I could see that led you to gave us a lower rating but I must confirm that the staff were just following the hotel policy. Regarding the luggage storage, we appreciate your honest feedback. We’ll take your comments on board as we look into improving these aspects to better serve our guests. Thank you for highlighting the value of our hotel, and we hope to have the opportunity to offer you a more pleasant stay in the future.

Excellent clean hotel in central London at a humane price, close to Bayswater or Queensway stops. Small but clean rooms with everything you need including a kettle with sachets and a hairdryer. Nice bathroom with little pressure in the shower but this too is not surprising. Instead I would recommend adding some hangers both in the bathroom and in the bedroom which, considering the size of the room, could help a lot in being able to hang some things and finally it would be nice to also have shampoo (only shower shampoo was present). Thanks to Dilanga who took the time to check out to ask us if everything was okay.
