We wanted somewhere to stay in December that had parking and was fairly central. This was priced well with the parking and an easy 20 mins taxi ride to most places in central london. Breakfast was really nice in the morning if a little expensive. The hotel room was ok, but a little dated. Was nice enough for somewhere to stay and clean. Staff were really friendly and no issues there.
Stayed one night in December between Christmas and new year. Found a great deal by booking direct with Novotel. Hotel itself is really nice, spacious, relaxing. Wonderful relaxing music plays in the lobby as you walk in and up to the reception on 1st floor via lift. The staff were very friendly, and lots of lifts up to the main bedroom floors. I was upgraded to an executive room on the 8th floor, which overlooked the flyover. A very quiet room but very warm. Even with the “air con” on which I think is just more an air circulation so I had window open. Room had plenty of facilities, including a bath and a separate shower. The iPod dock however needs upgrading as this had the old connector (which Apple discontinued a long time ago).. maybe upgrade it to smart speakers with bluetooth? I’ve had bigger TV’s in London hotel executive rooms but was still adequate for the room size. The bed was quite hard initially but on sleeping on it I was impressed.. this was probably the best sleep I’ve ever had. So much so I nearly missed breakfast! Breakfast was wonderful - lots of choices on the buffet (hot and cold).. Full English of good quality and even warm pastries. Plus meat platters, fresh fruit, juices, muffins etc. restaurant wasn’t too busy either as there didn’t seem to be lots of people staying. The relaxing music from the foyer was playing.. even playing jazz versions of Christmas songs (hey I guess maybe was still Christmas on the bank holiday after Christmas!). Anyway was a nice touch - I liked it 👍 After breakfast I went back to took to shower, but unfortunately it wasn’t the best shower as even though it felt perfect on tap, when you put up to shower it stayed cold or went very hot… I mentioned to reception on checkout. Checkout was easy and I left my bag with reception so I could head out to sales shopping in London. On return in the evening I enjoyed a meal in the hotel Bar. All the staff in the bar are very friendly. Brilliant burger 🍔 Overall considering there’s a pandemic on and there not a lot of people around (although I did prefer that!) - the hotel is doing a great job. Yes the rooms could do with a big makeover as they look a bit tired. But it’s practical and I slept well and was treated well. I work in this industry so I know it’s tough with short staff, no customers.. but please keep up the great work 👍 I’ll be back.…
Hotel was great, had been selected as the daily VIP so had some freebies too which was great. Room was very neat and tidy with great facilities. Only negative issue was trying to get back into the hotel after the show, poor signage and a broken lift meant a queue for about 20 mins to get back in.
We are always made to feel so welcome here, and any concerns are immediately dealt with. In these unsettled times it is understandable that breakfasts sometimes stand in their buffet trays too long, and the bar-service is not as prompt and efficient as it usually is. We had a problem with the heating in our room. It was sorted during our few hours' absence. Lovely place.
Very friendly service, restaurants and communal areas were good. Good price decent breakfast. Room was tired, good size but not in the best repair. Also need to do some work on their soundproofing of the rooms, towels not great, bathroom OK, beds and bedding so so - not super comfy.
