Travelers' Choice
A favourite of independent business and leisure travellers from all over the world, this hotel gets the details right: complimentary WiFi, free English breakfast, a popular lounge bar and restaurant, and discounted use of the adjacent spa and swimming pool at Aquilla Health and Fitness Club. The Rembrandt's beautifully modernised Edwardian rooms were originally apartments for Harrods. The building itself dates from 1911, and was one of the first steel and concrete structures in the UK. All 194 rooms and suites are smartly designed to feel both spacious and cosy, with high technology including flat-screen TVs, free WiFi and free local calls. WiFi is also free in public areas. All guests enjoy a free full English breakfast buffet, included in the room rate. Palette Restaurant serves seasonal British and international cuisine at lunchtimes, including a traditional carvery most days and always on Sundays. In the evenings, you can dine in the stylish Conservatory Bar, or sip a cocktail in 1606 Lounge Bar. And what better way to celebrate your visit to London than with a traditional Afternoon Tea, complete with finger sandwiches and fresh scones with clotted cream? The Rembrandt Hotel places you directly across from London's Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), within a 10-minute walk of the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Hyde Park, Harrods and the Royal Albert Hall. The location is superb – surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops and cultural attractions. You can stroll to South Kensington underground station in five minutes. From here, District, Circle and Piccadilly Tube lines take you straight to the City of London, Heathrow Airport and mainline train stations including Paddington and Victoria.

Absolutely excellent customer service. Staff were polite, friendly and couldn't do enough. I felt truly welcome. The room was immaculate with everything you could need including a comfy bed and really soft pillows. The room was delightfully warm (I really feel the cold!). I can't wait to come back next month!

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend birthday break and had a fantastic time. The hotel is absolutely fantastic - the room was spacious, the breakfast was substantial and the staff are AMAZING. Every single staff member is friendly, helpful and willing to do whatever they can to make your stay more enjoyable. We particularly would like to thank Frank , the concierge, for organising taxis, giving great directions and finding us an umbrella when the London showers started. Frank is a brilliant ambassador for the hotel - just as all the friendly staff are. The hotel is perfectly situated for the V & A and the Royal Albert Hall (along with many more museums and parks in the Kensington area) so plenty to see and do - and it's near the tube for easy access to other parts of London too. Would highly recommend it.

Great location near public transport, shops, restaurants and museums. Rooms were spacious and bed was cozy after long days of walking around. Neil and Frank at the front desk were 100% the best concierge I have met, remembering details about each guest and booking travel tours. A huge thanks to both of you and we will be back !

This is a charming hotel with an excellent front desk staff. The hotel also provided an excellent breakfast. The reason why it did not get a higher score was that like many places, the hotel has decided that daily housekeeping is no longer necessary and when one pays for a hotel room, you get to make your own bed. That's just a lot disappointing. I understand about the need to conserve water, and do not need the sheets or towels changed out. I DO expect that the bed be made and the trash removed. The hotel said 'housekeeping on request'. I requested the 2 services, yet of the 4 day stay they were done exactly once. Very disappointing.

A well located hotel in a happening place, V&A, NHM,Science museums all within 5 minutes walk. Helpful, welcoming hotel staff. Adequate bedrooms, hot but adjustable, and relatively quiet. Good selection at breakfast and nicely presented restaurant choices.

Hotel room was nice but found couple of hairs by bath taps, jacuzzi jet casing came off in bath, the bed was clean but had marks on sheets, could tell the hotel using cheapest linen company going didn't feel like quality 4 star linen also service charge shouldn't be put on bar bill just for a drink. Staff friendly.

Dear Sightsee09688853082 Thank you for taking the time to review The Rembrandt, following your recent stay. It is always disappointing to receive negative feedback and we are sorry that some aspects of your stay, failed to meet your expectations, nor did they meet our usually high standards. Our Housekeeping team are usually praised for their exceptionally high standards, so I am shocked and disappointed that you found hairs in your bathroom, as it is clean and then checked prior to being allocated. As you are aware we do not launder any of the bedroom linen ( sheets and towels) onsite, all of the linen is supplied by a reputable hospitality supplier, again I am sorry that you feel these were not four star quality. A discretionary service charge of 12.5% is added to all food and beverage items purchased at the hotel, this is a common practice in most London hotels and restaurants. However, it is a discretionary charge, which our guests can refuse and it will immediately be removed from your bill. Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the friendly service , overall we are pleased that you describe us as a nice hotel. We hope that the positive aspects of your stay outweigh the negative, thank you for sharing your constructive comments. Kind regards Lesley Denyer Customer Service Manager

It’s about the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at the Rembrandt hotel. It suites us very well when we come to London. The hotel is quite central and easy to get to other attractions in London. It was also quiet in the evening so we had a good sleep. The breakfast was substantial and even my vegan daughter found plenty to eat. They provided vegetarian sausages too which went down well. The staff were always very polite and helpful. We will definitely be back very soon.

Was here for two days for a small conference and enjoyed my stay very much. Everything is in a typical and traditional English style, with a very helpful and friendly team. Nice bar and good food. Few minutes walk from South Kensington underground station, with a good choice of pubs and restaurants in the vicinity. Being on a business trip, I unfortunately had no time for the museums.

Dear mkr-travel Thank you for reviewing The Rembrandt, following your recent business trip. We are delighted that we provided a typical, traditional English hotel experience, that you enjoyed the small conference and had a pleasant stay. What a shame that you did not have an opportunity to visit one of the three world famous museums nearby. We believe that our neighbourhood provides something for everyone, as there are an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes which cater to all culinary preferences and monetary budgets. Thank you for sharing your positive comments, we hope that you will consider retuning to us on a future trip to London. Kind regards Lesley Denyer Customer Service Manager

This is a fantastic hotel in a wonderful location, just 5 minutes from South Kensington tube. Easy access to the V&A museum which is literally around the corner. What makes this hotel so special is the staff. Their attitude and attention to detail was first class. None more so than Neil and his concierge team; always ready with a smile and eager to help no matter what you needed; they definitely went the extra mile, making my stay with friends a really amazing experience. I will certainly rebook next time I'm in London.

Fabulous location and hotel. Rooms are very comfortable and kept clean. Bus stops are right outside and tube station just minutes away. Out the door and turn right to take a short walk to a local sainsburys. Harrods etc. Breakfast was plentiful and food of a good quality. What makes this hotel a stand out for me is the fabulous friendly staff. All so lovely and helpful. Thanks for a very pleasant stay. Room 272 was on the back but I had asked for a quiet room which it was.
