This place is cheap but it is a real experience. It's in a great location, close to tube and Hyde park and also Paddington. It's the hottest hotel in Britain as they always have the heating up full. It's got so much character you could be in the 70s. The bathrooms are so oldschool and the water will go from... More

All amenities provided at a reasonable level, apart from a miniscule bathroom in Room 220 where the door had to be shut in order to access the essentials. Full English breakfast recommended, both from price & quality standpoints.

I had stayed at the Columbia Hotel previously about 12 years ago and thought it was OK then, so decided to give it another try on a one day trip to London recently. It still is a decent lower-mid range hotel. The pros and cons of the hotel, in my opinion, are: PROS: 1. Location: The location of the hotel... More

Good value for money in the centre of London, convenient location, pleasant surrounding area. Very dated interior, avacado bathroom suite etc, but appeared far from tatty. Very clean and lovely friendly staff. Only negative, continental breakfast just cereal and toast!

Very good price compared to chain hotels in London. In a very good location, nice area, really close to Lancaster Gate tube station and Hyde Park. Quite oldy worldy and the rooms aren't modern but have everything you need. We used the room as a base and it served well! The breakfast was okay but not huge!

The hotel was okay however not brilliant for the price. The hotel was like stepping back into 1970 and not in a great way. The room was far too hot and stuffy, the floor felt like it was going to fall through and our view was awful. The breakfast for nearly £10 was barely worth £3 and there was nothing... More

Hotel was quite old fashioned and a little tired....Avocado bathroom! However it was very clean and tidy. The restaurant was good, nice breakfast and plenty of servers. Staff were all polite and friendly. No air-con, so had very uncomfortable night after a 33 degree day!

We booked to stay here as I was doing a course that was being held at the hotel, so it was purely for convenience. We knew it was only a 2-star hotel so we weren't expecting great things. Our room was ok, the double bed pushed up against the wall so you could only get in from one side. The... More
