Not impressed.. for the price I am paying..£567 for 5 nights.. breakfast isn't included, it doesn't start till 7, the rooms are tiny and couldn't swing a cat in it! It's July and yesterday it was 29°C and the hotel doesn't even have air con. I've slept with the window open so far.. the waters barely cold! No bottles water..... More

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend and took the family room which has 3 separate beds. The room is large, surprisingly rather new or at least renovated, as was the bathroom (which had a variety of many toiletries). The only things that felt like they needed some retouch were the floor that creaked and the window that wasn't... More

We have been positively surprised by our pleasant stay at Grange Strathmore Hotel in London. Very proximal to the underground station and positioned close to Victoria station for easy access to Gatwick and the Rail network. Refurbished family room was a bit small, but bathroom and facilities as well as breakfast made up. Excellent staff and services provided. Bed mattresses... More

Stayed here Saturday night as two couples in two rooms. Rooms are really tiny! on the fifth floor at least. Hotel has lovely decor. We weren't given an option to upgrade our breakfast on check in to a cooked breakfast which we found a bit odd. But apart from that it is a good location, parking is an issue but... More

Stayed here on a Sunday night at a very reasonable rate. Breakfast not included but don't worry as plenty of cafes st round the corner. Would strongly recommend Muriel's Kitchen! Good looking from the outside, slightly tired inside. Lower ground level bedrooms which were quite small but perfectly adequate. Strange shower and toilet configuration - not very user friendly access.... More

I stayed in room 001. It was very big and quiet although the view was limited. Previously I had a room higher up with a gorgeous view but a tighter space. The building is full of historical charm and Victorian character. WiFi is available but slow in some areas due to the older building. The bed was a bit hard... More

We were staying in London to see Heart at the Royal Albert Hall and booked the room through Late Rooms. We decided to opt out of breakfast which would have cost us £24 each but apparently we could book direct and have breakfast included. The hotel was clean, the staff lovely and courteous. The room was on the small side... More

Finding a nice hotel in London when you have a budget is quite hard ! But the Strathmore is a place I will definitely come back at ! Nice room (beds very comfortable and the bathroom is beautiful), very kind staff and well placed. The hotel is about 20min away from Harrods by walk. Can't wait to come back !

Have stayed at other properties of this group - and as always our stay was first class - great staff, always welcoming and helpful. Front desk lady was brilliant - room was clean, and very nice indeed, smallish, but that;s London for you. Breakfast was good too. We only had some difficulty in navigating the shower/bath tap, which ended up... More

I ended up here after one of the worst days of my life. I went to the airport with my family to leave the UK after spending a week's holiday....where I was told I couldn't fly, because my passport was 1 day within the 3 month window before it expires. My family had to board the flight home without me.... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
