this is our second visit to this hotel and on both occasions we cannot fault it. On both visits we were going to the Royal Albert Hall which is about a 10 min walk. Rooms are quite large and service was very good, good situation close to museums and Knightsbridge.

One of the worst Grange Hotels I have stayed in. Tatty around the edges. No room drinking water bottles (very poor for an allegedly 4 star hotel). No air conditioning (must be nightmare in Summer. Pillows pointless. TV cannot be viewed fromBed. Carpet stains, damp stains, bathrooms tiny and towels just stacked on top of each other

We arrived for a two night stay on Tuesday, I was with my mother and her best friend who are in their 80's. We were met at the front door by a lovely and friendly young man who took our cases and directed us to the reception. Check in was no problem and then we were shown to our room...

I have never before stayed in a basement. This was a bit of a shock dark but clean. The hotel is a splendid georgian building but it is tired in places and very few staff speak good english properly. This does create problems when ordering breakfast. Our sockets fused and ringing reception to try and explain was a nightmare as they wanted...

I stayed at The Grange Strathmore for 2 nights in August, It was my first time to London and my Grandparents suggested it. I had a wonderful stay, the room was small but i hear that this expected in London. The staff were very nice and the room was immaculate. I was especially impressed with the continental breakfast, there was...

I now stay at The Strathmore instead of some of the more expensive nearby hotels. The bed is comfortable, the sheets are spotless, the shower is powerful with lots of hot water and clean towels. Whilst the furniture may be dated and a little worn that is balanced by friendly and helpful staff. It is personal choice but it works...

I happened to stay at this hotel for a month during a visit to Imperial College. The hotel has an excellent location in South Kensington. 9 minutes walk to Hyde park and Royal Albert Hall. Also, walk-able distance to imperial college London. The hotel staff was friendly and cooperative.

Stayed here for two nights over the weekend, we chose the Strathmore as we know the brand and because of its location which quite frankly is excellent if you are looking to base yourself in the west of London. The room we had was compact but had a good layout which allowed it to work just fine, we had a...

Stayed here for a single night after a cock up on my flight prevented me from leaving the UK. Got this Hotel from a Booking Agency at the Airport. Was only provided the Address with no instructions. I knew it was close to Gloucester Rd Tube and that was it. Queens Gate Gardens proved very difficult to find and the...

Been on a three days, long week end, to London and we went to the Grange Strathmore Hotel. On arriving - 4 person in 2 separate rooms - it took us over 20 minutes to check-in due to the slow, troublesome, annoying electronic procedure, where each single guest had to provide his own details and the system stopping and freezing continuously....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
