It was cold in the room, the tv does not work properly (even after the nice concierge tried to repare it two days in a row), boring continental breakfast. Smelly cushion. The room is so tiny it is like a wardrobe!!

Stayed here as part of a business trip and as with most London hotels, extremely poor value for money. I lucked out with my room and had a family room which in contrast to my colleagues, you could actually move around in. However, it offered a clear view into the apartments opposite the hotel which made me feel slightly uncomfortable!... More

I stayed here for one night on business. My meeting was in Imperial College and the hotel was only a short stroll away. The hotel is also only 3 minute walk to nearest tube station which has services out to Heathrow. In fact I got to Heathrow in about 40 minutes from the hotel. The reception area, bar, and restaurant... More

This was the first hotel to our month long holiday around Europe and England. (Myself and three teenagers). Was clean, spacious and an easy base for our London part of the trip. The tube is nearby and easy to navigate. Breakfast is sufficient and there were no hassles. Overall a recommended hotel.

Our room turned out to be terrible, very tiny hardly with any windows. The people working at the hotel were nice but most of them lacked the skills neccesary to work at a hotel. The hotel turned out being a boarding school for international students. The bar turned out to be a students union. Summary: WARNING!!!

If you want to stay in a quiet, comfy hotel in South Kensington with a bit of character and don't mind a few minor shortcomings, then the Grange Strathmore is a good choice. I stayed with my family in one of the family rooms (a double plus two singles) for a week and overall had a positive experience. Main points... More

A hotel with quality as its main focus. Situated southwest of Hyde Park in a quiet residential area - its very close to the main shopping areas of London. The decor is quiet and stately. Excellent service from staff made this a very pleasant stay indeed.

Stayed on Saturday night, very comfortable and quiet. On Sunday morning, the dining room was full at 9am, the Staff did really well to try to accommodate everyone and despite the rather selfish behaviour of some of my fellow guests who couldn't appreciate the difficulties that everyone turning up for breakfast at the same time was going to have! Check... More

I love Grange Hotels so was looking forward to my stay. Great location just off the Cromwell Road so minutes from Albert Hall and museums, five minutes to Gloucester Road tube. Quiet spot overlooking mews / gardens. Lovely friendly staff, room was fine if a bit tired round the edges although all I want is clean comfy bed, bath and... More

Stayed here for a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Got an amazing deal for the location. Room was excellent as the bath was very comfy for sleeping in as my snoring disturbed the other occupant of my room. Bar lovely for a quiet drink. Staff really helpful and couldn't do enough for you. I will definitely visit again. Thankyou

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
