I have literally just checked into this hotel and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. We are here as part of my husband 50th birthday so I booked a privilege room . Upon arrival hotel lobby is welcoming and looks great but that's where...More
As an Accor member, this is easily the best Mercure I have stayed in. OK, I chose the "CHAMBRE PRIVILÈGE", which was a lovely spacious room (and not exactly cheap), but the hotel is in excellent state (many Mercure hotels have a slightly tired feel)...More

Central London is an extraordinary melange of exotic nationalities, brusque locals, brutal prices and some surprisingly nice corners. So is this hotel. You are paying a lot to be in this un-fancy part of town, but so be it. I was disappointed by the food...More
Nice restyled hotel, fashionable lobby & rooms with an urban chic design. Good location for Tate modern, Borough market & London Bridge stations. Great breakfast selection, comfortable beds & Marco Pierre White restaurant with nice menu. Majority of rooms only have shower & no bath.
Stayed here last week with my husband.
Perfect location, 5 mins walk from the underground and Borough market .
Handy for the southbank.
Very modern hotel, spotlessly clean, and very quiet rooms despite being on a main road.
Very pleasant polite staff, check in and...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest
attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

We had a heating element (placed in the ceiling, looked like an aircon but was heating only) with a wall mounted controller.
We were told by hotel staff we had to open the window to cool the room down.
