It was a beautiful hotel. Quite a few stairs to climb. We had a room at the back so no view, but amazingly quiet considering you are in central London. The staff were charming, friendly and helpful. Every request was dealt with promptly and with a smile. We had breakfast in the room, but could have had it downstairs in one of the lounges. We also had tea served when our friends came to visit. There were some nice choices for snacks and meals for room service. Bedroom was comfortable and ensuite had a lovely deep bath with shower attachment. So maybe not all the mod cons, but genteel service in gorgeous surroundings.
What a lovely place to stay. Location is perfect, and the atmosphere when you enter the hotel is great. Great room, very comfortable, impeccable room service. Very kind staff at the reception. Will definitely return here!!
My favourite London hotel. Still stark raving bonkers, this quirky hotel is simply fantastic. From the weird rooms (book the Duke of Monmouth Suite if you can - a rooftop garden and atrium in the heart of Soho, it’s very nice). I stay here regularly and have never had a bad experience. The honesty bar is great and the general vibe of Hazlitts is perfectly mad.
This is a fully renovated historical building converted into a hotel. Super cute and has many historical features. Our room is spacious enough for the two of us. We also have a decent sized bathroom that is equiped with heated towel rail (which is handy for drying our towels in winter). There are separate communal library and lounge area you can use in the hotel. You can also help yourself with the alcoholic beverages provided - by way of an honesty box arrangement. We spent a lovely time in the lounge area having some gin and tonic when a friend visited us in the hotel. Location wise, the hotel is very centrally located in London theatre district. There are eateries, restaurants, pubs, shops and other amenities nearby. You can also easily arrange for Ubereats here. The hotel staff is also very friendly and super helpful. They arranged for airport pick up and drop off for us as well as arrange for taxi for us when we needed one during our stay. Overall, we love the Hazlitt's Hotel and would highly recommend it for any travellers visiting London. 😀👍…
An oasis of good taste, tranquility, and old-world charm in a great location - Hazlitt’s is a jewel. We’d stayed a few days at sister hotel (The Rookery, also lovely) in summer 2022; this time we wanted to try Hazlitt’s and the Soho area - we were in London six nights over New Year’s. An easy walk to Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, etc. and plenty of fun restaurants close by. Front desk staff at Hazlitt’s are exceptional - shout out to Alba, Charles, Jose, Patrick, Rose - and anyone I may have missed. ;) [Truth in advertising, our room on 1st floor (Sir James Bateman) was a bit warm the evenings (for me, my partner was fine) - central heat means a trade off given the double-paned glass for extra quiet; my solution was to open the bathroom window somewhat when we turned in for the night and accept a bit of street noise (we were there over New Year’s after all).] Beautiful, comfortable room, great breakfast; also love the honor bars in the gorgeous, varied ground floor sitting areas. Hazlitt’s has become our favorite hotel in London.…
Stayed for 8 nights and absolutely loved it. Brilliant hotel staff and stunning lounges and rooms. Stayed in Sir James Bateman for first 4 nights and loved it. It is overlooking Wardour St so some street noise - but honestly, if you're booking a hotel in the middle of Soho, it's inevitable. Second 4 nights we stayed in Sir William Ross room which was just as lovely BUT no shower :( There's a handheld shower attachment on the bath but no hook to hang it and no shower curtain. No big drama for one night but for 4 nights... bit frustrating. Only other comment is that rooms could really do with more lighting. I know that downlights would detract from the antique ambience and may be hard / impossible to install but rooms were very dark. But overall loved it, woudl stay again and highly recommend.…
If you love history and something different - this hotel is for you! Blew my expectations out of the water by a mile! As a total snob, I wanted to have a unique experience for our stay and Hazlitt’s came through with spectacular flying colors. The staff make you feel like personal friends. The uniqueness and cosiness of this beautiful hotel, especially at Christmas, made the London portion of our trip so special xxxxx ❤️😘🎄🎉🎊
Stayed here for the night while in London to see a show. We picked Hazlitts as we’d stayed at the Rookery one of their other hotels previously. We arrived early, as our room wasn’t ready they offered to look after our baggage and call us when we could use the room. Our first room Major Roberts was lovely, although on the top floor it was well appointed, lovely large bed, shower over bath, and very luxurious. Unfortunately there was no cold water from the sink tap. The hotel was quick to resolve the situation and change us to another room, Thomas Clarkson, this room was also very well appointed and luxurious. Rooms are very quiet at night with no noise heard outside, considering the hotel is in the middle of Soho. Would definitely stay here again and look forward to another visit.…
I love this hotel - it's more like being in a special home environment. My room was a total period piece, with all the modern conveniences that matter, plus some sheer indulgences. A bath in London is wonderful - I could lie there and see the sky. They even have a very fine cat! The staff are all so kind and helpful. Thank you!!
Great staff, who could not be more helpful. Nice room, immaculate throughout. You may need to be of a certain vintage to deal with the plumbing in a historic building (victorian chain flush etc) so if you want ulta modern then this may not be the place for you. However, if you want unique, quirky and classy then this place will deliver in spades. Room service is swift. The food itself was very nice and arrives hot and with all the trimmings. Tea and coffee is a bit weak but I just cannot think of anything else they could improve upon, and I am sure that had I asked for stronger, they would have obliged without delay. Also, if you are staying for more than one night then a larger room than the Madame Kennedy may be best as there is little storage for clothing. There was a blazing fire and complementary coffee cake in the communal drawing room with a well stocked honestly bar. Sadly we did not have time to partake. We ordered a cocktail tray, which was really good value, as it includes a half bottle of spirit, a large selection of vermouths, bitters, mixers, garnishes etc. The toiletries are lovely, the towels fluffy and they brought me two extra pillows to make 6! The room itself was so cosy on a November evening. I won't ever stay anywhere else in central London again.…
