We didn’t come with high expectations because we hadn’t paid much money but we were pleasantly suprised. Yes, it’s basic but we were lucky enough to have a refurbished room in the basement-with a window and air conditioning! The room was small and the bathroom minute-you could clean your teeth whilst sitting on the toilet!! I certainly didn’t expect breakfast to be included...and there was fresh fruit salad and freshly cooked scrambled eggs etc. Also, lovely fresh bread...and not sunblest either! So, perhaps we were lucky but we would return if in the area and not wanting to pay silly money

Stayed in a triple room on the top floor with a friend for 2 nights to go sight seeing. The room itself was well equipped and included a hair dryer and a mini-fridge, the beds were comfy, however was missing coat hooks which would’ve been a nice touch. The room looked like it had been recently done up and was clean and tidy. The room was quite small for 3 people, we were glad it was just the two of us! The room’s window: looked like single glazed and the wooden window frame was rotting which meant I couldn’t close the window properly and could hear everything going on outside. Luckily the air con worked as it was a humid few days! The en-suite was small, however was functional and clean. The shower could’ve had a better water pressure. The en-suite door was also frosted glass and had a gap around it between it and the door frame which was a bit unnerving when your friend is sat on the bed on the other side! This hotel has 4 floors however the lift only goes up to the third floor and the lift is very very small, friend and I had to squeeze in. The staff on reception were friendly and the lobby area has free water available which was nice. The hotel is great for Hyde park as it’s a few minutes walk and is close to Paddington station and Lancaster Gate tune station; also only about a 25 minute walk to oxford street. The communal areas eg. Stairways needed a lick of paint and could do with general TLC. The breakfast was alright although basic with the cooked breakfast, there was no bacon, mushrooms, tomato, black pudding or hash browns and the sausages were little cocktail sausages. The pastries and fresh bread were nice though. The breakfast room could do with more atmosphere as it felt a bit dead in there. Overall it was alright, I wouldn’t stay again though as for me, a good breakfast is important and there was just too much noise from outside to get a good sleep. The location is great but the hotel itself needs upgrading.

Do not stay in room 102. There is no air conditioning. They supply a fan which only blow the 30C air around. The room is only 100 square feet. Not enough room for 2 persons. Bathroom is so small you can't bend over to wash your face without hitting your back on the wall. Wifi sucks.

Regularly stay near Paddington with work and different hotels booked based on what is available within the corporate policy. Without doubt the worst I have stayed in around Paddington. Lift only goes to 2nd floor and you have to walk the rest on narrow staircases, including a stair on the forth flight that feels like it will give way each time you step on it and a fire door that opens towards you at the top of the stairs while you’re on a tight corner. Sink so small you can’t even shave in it. TV with no signal that worked 30 secs in every hour. Remote with no battery cover. Shower that takes an age to get a reasonable temperature between freezing and boiling but only trickles out. Positives - staff seemed pleasant and breakfast while very basic was fine.

The worst experience i ever had in London hotel.awful service and accommodation. its breakfast was poor and could not compete with 3 stars hotel as it is.never visit it again! They have rooms at the basement for God sake that they charge as much as the renovated ones.
