We have stayed at the Copthorne on both occasions when I have visited the UK! The club rooms are always clean and the beds a great, love having access to the club room to enjoy a nice hot breakfast and then drinks during cocktail hours. The staff are just beautiful, so friendly and hospitable especially the manager Poonam, Mohammed, Marius... More

I went there for the cc expo conference. It was the highest rated hotel offered. Do not bother. dirty apolstry on the chairs. Dirty bathroom. And I paid for the superior room second to most expensive in this hotel. This was really not up to standards. 2 stars max.

Efficient check-in. Clean room with twin comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Conveniently located, just a couple minutes' walk from High Street Kensington Station. As there is no lift in High Street Kensington Station, it's rather challenging for tourists carrying heavy and bulky luggage to go to the street level. Advisable to get off from Earl's Court Station and hail a taxi... More

Staff on reception very friendly. Staff in Brasserie, less so. On arrival were upgraded to Club, which was lovely as it meant we had a free breakfast. Room very clean, but if I were being totally honest, room no different than a Premier Inn.

Good location. Rooms a little dated with air con from the ark! Rooms looking over the tube lines are very noisy. Walls very thin with a lot of bathroom and TV noise coming through them. Very old, empty fridge in the room that made a loud electrical buzzing all night. Staff were friendly though!

Amazing value for money at the Tara. Check in was first class and the whole stay was extremely comfortable. High St Kensington is a fabulous base for touring London with bus and underground connections a plenty. Stay a little out of the centre and save pounds and then spend them in the local shops/restaurants etc.. Will certainly be back.

The Tara is a good mid market value hotel with small rooms and low to mid level food and beverage service. The location is excellent, the property is well maintained but the staff are close to superannuation, restaurants are just disinterested with exception of the young ladies in the Executive lounge who strive to excel

Unfortunately we didn't have control on our hotel booking as we booked a travel package through a tour company. The only good thing I can say about this place is the restaurant downstairs. We ate there for breakfast daily and we really loved the very diverse breakfast (buffet) selection and the attentive staff. Now for our room, we hated our... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
