Having stayed here on numerous occasions we have always found the hotel and it's staff excellent. However on our last stay our room (516) was very disappointing compared with previous rooms with or without complimentary upgrades. The room was oddly shaped and small. the air-conditioning did not work so we slept with the window open. This was fine till the trains and tubes started running and the rubbish crusher kicked off! The kettle lead was too short to fit into the nearby plugs so had to be boiled on the floor.

I had a really great time at the Danubius Hotel Regent's Park. Our room was lovely and very clean the staff looking after our room were very discreet and didn't call us too early. Everywhere else throughout the hotel was first class. Breakfast was excellent plenty of choices.

Extremely clean room & bathroom; fresh and bright decor & the 3rd floor seems to be a complete renovation. Beds were very comfortable & towels soft & fluffy. Room had a desk, small table plus two chairs which were appreciated. Staff were all very helpful especially Jerome who walked us to the short cut back door so we could walk to St John’s Wood tube station. This walk took 10 minutes. If you are an older person as I am, perhaps ask for a room with a walk in shower cubicle as getting in & out of the bath can be tricky although I note the management has put a notice to that effect. Location is excellent especially if you are a cricket lover! We walked through Regent’s Park along to Harley Street & then to Oxford Street so if you are fit enough, this place is a walker’s dream. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the front entrance area is yet to be renovated & so does not yet reflect the lovely nature of the reception areas and rooms.

Décor in rooms very old, carpet and curtains are often stained, furniture scratched..sometimes there’s hair on the wall of the shower. Staff at the front desk very pleasant. No atmosphere at the bar. Very cold. No smiles from staff. Only positive in my view, the location.

On the morning of the stay, I awoke to no lights working in the room. Had to shower and dress in the dark using torch on phone. All receptionist could say was sorry. Still awaiting a copy of the invoice months later.

Good location next to Regents Park. Clean. Eager service. I'm from USA and would have preferred brewed coffee in the room instead of instant, but I think that's the case everywhere in the UK. Cost of breakfast was too high to be worth it.

The staff were most helpful with perosonal requests. I'd like to specifically mention the courteous concierge Dainius who kindly helped with the complicated arrangements regarding a hurried leave to the airport. Thank you!

The hotel is very pleasantly decorated. I particularly admired the carpets. Unfortunately, the food let me down. I was not told that the main restaurant was closed except for breakfast, when I booked. In fact, I was not told anything - there was no guide to the hotel facilities in the bedroom, so I had, for instance, to go down to reception to enable the WiFi. On the food, only the Lancashire hotpot had meat that I could cut with my knife. Even the bacon at breakfast and the burger at lunch had to be sawed at to cut . There were a lot of stairs, which since I was using a stroller, had to be negotiated with a clumsy hand operated lift. I caught a view of Lord's Cricket ground from the dining room, but I never saw any garden to sit in. I didn't ask, so there may have been. Again, I could have done with a guide. Sorry to be so negative, but since I was giving my self a holiday from housework over Easter, I had high expectations.
