There was a mix up with the booking, Suffice to say the welcoming staff have more then made up for it, and for that I thank you. Reading over reviews, yes it is a bit tired, and I certainly agree with the service at breakfast and breakfast needs reviewing, however for the price you pay compared to other London hotels... More

We decided to treat ourselves for a special birthday weekend and stay at a luxury hotel. We picked the Gore for the location and the website which makes it look amazing. We enjoyed our stay but were slightly disappointed given the high price. Our room was OK, but very small and just lacked some of the little extras that you... More

We have come to the Gore for more than ten years, several times a year. Our children came here before they were born. It has always been a home away from home. The new ownership has tried to make it more modern and a little more 5 star feeling. The new beds are certainly their best and only achievement. The... More

Well placed hotel right next to the park and the museums! It was full of class and character and the staff were more than welcoming, giving complimentary fruit and macaroons on arrival! The only only fault would be that we were woken up in the morning by the sounds of running water coming from another room witch was very loud.... More

Well, where do I begin. Lovely from the outside and smashing greeting from the reception and concierge Jerome who was really good. We had paid extra for a superior room. We were on the 5th floor and the room to be honest was tiny with a 4 poster bed. The room was ok but not what I would class as... More

On arrival the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, particularly the concierge and reception Staff who were excellent throughout. We stayed in the Judy Garland room for our anniversary. The room was clean and well presented. The buffet/continental breakfast in the morning was very good. We we visiting the Royal Albert Hall and the hotel was perfectly located for... More

Met by a concierge in a tailcoat - but upper hall carpets were threadbare and worn through. Room tv handset had no batteries - and toilet leaked across the bathroom floor when flushed. Bistro served ' designer' food in miniscule portions at inflated prices - had to go out to dine AFTER supposedly dining at the Bistro - the portions... More

Very nice hotel and lovely room (junior suite) although mattress not flat so sleep could've been better, disappointed that the bar closed at midnight and not at 1am as stated in the hotel info in the room, this meant we missed the chance to have a quick drink in the bar after returning from our night out and had to... We stayed here for a couple of nights on our visit to London. I chose it due to its location, being perfectly placed in the West End, with easy access to St James Park. We absolutely loved the hotel as soon as we stepped inside. It is traditional throughout, yet well equipped. The room was fantastic, with ample space and... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
