My biggest advice would be to look at the reviews and other photographs of people’s room. I feel the photographs the hotel displays are completely misleading. Room was so old, definitely not refurbished as a similar reviewer has said below. It looked like someone had punched the wall in the room we stayed in and no attempt had been made to repair it. Location wise, the hotel is in a great spot but definitely would not recommend staying here as our room was appalling. I’m not surprised we were never asked how our stay was when we checked out...

I checked into the hotel today after requesting a refurbished room and was given the room as shown in my pictures. When I called reception I was told this is a refurbished room. There are no seals on the hotel doors so you don’t know who’s been in the room before you, it should be Covid cleaned and Covid sealed so you know the cleaning has been done and nobody else has been in the room, the rooms are not sealed and none of them are in the corridor. When asking the hotel manager if she would stay in that hotel room she said no so I asked why I was put in there and I didn’t get a definitive answer. The hotel reception is fine but the rest of the hotel rooms in the unfurnished area are very old small and very haggard. Was also told at reception that all of the rooms have been upgraded during the pandemic I don’t think so!! After much discussion with the hotel manager I was upgraded to a room which was acceptable. I travel an awful lot and I’m Expedia platinum member so I know when I hotel is good and when it is not so good. The St Giles room is in the not so good category and I do not do reviews unless I feel it is absolutely necessary, on this occasion I feel the room was not even up to a travellodge standards. The Manager was trying to blame everything on housekeeping, the team should work together and get the hotel in order and get it Covid regulated so everyone knows they are safe when staying at this hotel I still don’t know how many people have been in my room before me as the doors were not sealed. If you are staying in the standard room beware it may be as the room in my pictures and they tell me that it is an upgraded room I hate to see a room that has not been upgraded here. Enjoy your stay if you decide to stay here. My review is honest and factual.

Hotel is in a great central location and is an old YMCA. Good swimming pool. However staff seem unhelpful and surly even when tipped on previous occasions I have stayed there. Begggers constantly around the hotel asking for money and security seem to take their side against guests even when guests are subjected to very aggressive beggars.

BE WARNED!.!.! My wife has been Tring to get our refund back from the London St Giles Hotel since December due to Covid and London going into Tier 4. We were due to stay 1 night to see a show in London this show had been cancelled alo g with restricted travel. My contract the hotel immediately and was advised then we would be getting a refund, but it can take 10days. Many, many phone calls later we are still no closer to a refund, I'm writi g this as off the 19th January 2021,with still no date for a refund. This is discusing customer service. From he reviews it looks like only the good reviews get answered on here. Would I recommend NO! Would I Re-book absolutely not!
