The location of the Strand Palace hotel is great, just a short walk from Covent Garden, and Charing Cross. The hotel is pretty big so don't expect a cosy atmosphere, the bars vary enormously, the lounge bar is a bit 1970's! But there is great atmosphere to be had in, for instance, the Gin Palace. Book direct with the hotel...

Have been to functions way back in the past when the hotel was a 4 star establishment. It is now solidly aimed at the tourist market and in our view it has been done very well. We opted for room only and used the hotels price match to ensure the best deal. We did also get the advantage by booking...

We have stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel on a number of occasions, due to its excellent location and comfortable bar/lounge areas. We visited London recently for a birthday celebration, and decided to have afternoon tea and a bottle of bubbly in the Strand Palace before going to the theatre. We had a lovely afternoon, the food and service was...

Stayed here 2 nights ago. I was taking part in a cooking class at School of Wok, Covent Garden. The location of this hotel is brilliant! Only 15 minutes walk from Waterloo and around the corner from Covent Garden. The common areas (e.g reception) are very well presented and the check in staff were friendly. You are made to feel...

Have stayed here twice. First time was good no worries at all. Second time had a room with paper thin walls. I could hear everyone around me. I'll not be staying there again unless the soundproofing improves.

The room was very small, as was the bathroom. This isn't a luxury hotel, however, there was barely room for your toothbrush on the bathroom sink. On the plus side, our room faced the inside and was very quiet. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. The Strand is located in an excellent location for sightseeing with several major...

My friend & I stayed in a cosy double. It was clean and gave us what we needed. Boy was it Cosy. The location was superb for our interests, the price was good for the area. The doorman & staff were nice enough. Unlike many others we met working in London. It really was everything it said it would be.

Excellent location in central London. Worth every penny. Congrats to all the staff for the way they handed my each and every query. No fault of the place but do be aware that at times traffic in The Strand is a bit on the heavy side. Having said that the place is still a haven - far from the maddening...

Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.
