City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

Staff ranged from very good to very poor (at check-in). Was good to have PC/PRinter in lobby to print tickets and boarding passes. Lobby coffee bar was excellent. WiFi in room was slightly above average. Location near the Tower, 2 different Tube lines, available eateries was very good. Room was nice, cool, and spotless. Had good electronics plug in options.

Love this hotel, is close to Liverpool street station, Spittalfields market and Leadenhall. The staff are always super friendly and happy to help in any way they can. Access to filtered water on each floor and the lobby is a real bonus! We made very good use of the tea and coffee station in the lobby too.

Would recommend. Very comfortable beds, and rooms were fresh and clean. Staff helped with booking trips. Breakfast choices were good, the coffee lounge was much appreciated and the coffee was nice too.

So London is usually quite expensive and we found this to be reasonable as we wanted to be able to get to Wimbledon the next day pretty easy and it was only 15 minutes on the tube from Kings Cross. Nothing is open in the area on the weekend so if you stay here please be prepared for that although I understand it isn't the hotel's fault. On arrival (very early!) they took our suitcases so we could wander and then upon check in our bags were already in our room. The room was nice enough but it does feel a little cheap. The coffee etc downstairs is a nice touch. As is the in room entertainment, the bathroom was ok but not the cleanest. I also recommend Gaucho for dinner. Wonderful! Only reason the lack of 5 stars was the noise in the hallways was awful. I think the doors are just so close together in some places it cannot be helped.

The location is excellent, in the middle of the City and close to public transport. The service is good and the staff is eager to help in all your needs. Room is comfortable but the shower could be a bit bigger, just the shower, the rest of the bathroom have a normal space.
