This is a hotel in a great spot. It's close to Earls Court train station, and a block or two away from Gloucester Road tube station. Hyde park, the V&A, Royal Albert Hall, etc, are all within walking distance. As a bonus, the Stanhope Arms pub is five minutes away. Fantastic. But, it's really time to stop charging for wifi.... Very well located, so close to underground station! Its strengths is about location and fair presentation! Very nice staff, reasonable room space and very nice interiors! Breakfast was ok and lounge is appropriate for any kind if business meeting.

We stayed 4 nights at the Ambassdors hotel recently. The hotel is in a great location, two streets from Earls Court train station and down the road from a Sainsburys supermarket. Absolutely loved the location. Breakfast was included for us but is very basic- yoghurt, toast, cereals, fruit. Internet wifi was a major disappointment. You are required to pay for... More

Plus: It's close to some great sites, Kensington Gardens/ Hyde Park, The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The V & A Museum. Close to Gloucester Road Station which is on the Picadilly line, handy if coming from Heathrow. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Staff were friendly, if needed. Foyer, downstairs loos and bar area all new and clean but... More

Never thought I would know the feeling of sleeping in my closet but that s exactly What happened on my night at the Ambassadors. The room Is very small and hot as hell as there Is no air conditioning and You Cannot open the window. I could barely breathe in it . There Is no place to accomodate your suitcase... More

We booked into this hotel as a group of 3 for a couple of nights while sightseeing around London. The location of the hotel is great and is only 10min walk from a tube station and bus stops etc are close by to get to all of the major attractions. We arrived early and were able to leave bags at... I stayed last night to attend a concert in the Royal Albert Hall. It was much cheaper than any others within walking distance, but had very mixed reviews, some very bad. I thought for one night I would give it a go, but my expectations were low. I entered the hotel and was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. The... More

We stayed in August this year. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Euston Station with Russell Square tube about the same distance. Not a great deal of restaurants or bars by the hotel, but reasonably quiet. The room was lovely, well appointed and clean. The only problem was we looked directly into the rooms of the County Hotel... More

I was not a very nice hotel actually. The staff weren't very friendly, we stayed for ten nights and one in the staff said hello one time. They ignored the guests. It was extremely hot in the rooms, no AC. There were table fan but not a very good one. We had a triple bed room and it was 15... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
