Our Millenium account was not working, so we needed help booking with our Millenium membership. We wanted to book 5 nights this Oct. and wrote to the reception/booking 4 times !? The lady gave us a completely ignorant reply 2 times and made no attempt to help us, nor was she interested in making the booking via mail. We gave up. It is somewhat costly to stay there, so one would expect (better) service. The first impression and the first face you meet at at hotel generally gives you an indication of the service/staff attitude. So maybe a good thing we didn't succeed in making the booking :).Luckily we managed to find a nice hotel instead.
Stayed for 3 nights loved the position of the hotel. Right outside the tube station so no walking with luggage. Staff wonderful and friendly. Free breakfast in the morning which is always great. Walking distance to the museums and Kensington palace and also Harrods. Loads of eatery’s around. All in all great hotel highly recommend.
To start, when booking a hotel I always critically read the reviews and research the area. Additionally, a relative stayed at this hotel about six years ago and liked it. The hotel is in a wonderful area. It is next to a tube station and just a short walk to wonderful museums. The area feels safe and not crowded with tourists. Now for the things that I did not like. Upon arrival at 10 AM, the Front desk told me that my reservtion had been canceled. I showed them my confirmtion, but they said it was canceled. So much for asking for an early check in. I had to call the reservation's number and the woman on the line quickly found my reservation. However, the Front desk now said that I should come back at 1500 to check in. My wife, exhausted from a overnight flight sat down and fell asleep on the lobby couch. Perhaps this was a sore sight, because now they found a room for us by 1100. The room felt smaller than what was stated for a Deluxe Double. The bathroom was small but clean although the toilet seat was loose and we had to continually readjust the postion. The refrigerator was not working. We informed the desk the next day, but it was not repaired or replaced until that evening when we called the front desk again, and the night manager himself came to fix it. I feel that all these forementioned issues are tolerable except for what I felt was the UNCLEANLINESS of the room. The dark carpet has numerous visible stains and it just felt dirty when walked on with bare feet. There were dark smudges and even a spot of dried blood on the bathroom door that were not attended to by the housekeeping staff. I have attaced a photo of this. The room was dusty and I had to wipe surfaces with a damp cloth every day during our five night stay. During our stay, not once did I hear hear or see a vacuum cleaner. In all, except for a great location, I was very happy to leave upon check out.…
I was with my family, clean, spacious room, good bathroom. excellent location next to the metro, very good neighborhood! Excellent staff and service, very near to the buss station, the only negative point is that don’t have all day room service!!
Location. Location. Location. Add to it nice and clean rooms, excellent service and a courteous staff. The Baileys was a great find. There is a variety of restaurants just across the street and of course a nice bar at the hotel itself. Excellent!!
I stayed here last week for work in a single room. The hotel is in an ideal location right opposite Gloucester Road tube station. The room was lovely, very clean with a comfortable bed, good shower and good sized bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only thing I thought let it down was the breakfast, the lids are left off the pots containing the hot items which resulted in them being cold, cold beans on toast is not an ideal start to the day!
We stayed at this hotel for 10 days in September at the end of our 3 week trip in the UK. The hotel location is right across the street from the Gloucester tube station and in close proximity to buses. There are pubs, restaurants, and many services in the across the road and in the vicinity. We could easily walk to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park as well as the V&A. We had a Luxury Room with one Double Bed - note that at this hotel the "Double bed" is a king size in US. I actually called before booking to clarify. We had a corner room on the 5th floor (top floor) - it was a large room with a very nice bathroom. Love the towel warmers in all the bathrooms in the UK! The room was air conditioned as well which was a must for this trip given the crazy weather everyone is having. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar. We didn't use the restaurant but frequented the bar for nightcaps. The bar closed at 11pm and had last cal at 10:30 which wasn't ideal - especially when you're on vacation. Overall this choice was good for the end of our trip. We were there during the Queen's funeral so our location allowed us to get around easily given the influx of visitors during that week. I would recommend this hotel.…
Great service - concierge & bellboys were right there helping with bags, recommendations, an early am cab. Impeccably clean room. Wonderful breakfast. Quiet. Great location right across the street from the Glouster Rd tube station. Convenient to lots of great restaurant options. Staying again in 2 weeks because of the great experience!
Overall it’s average. Rooms were fine - clean- but for the cost wasn’t over the top. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. While breakfast is served till 11. Staff is busy setting up for lunch by 10am. Had to ask for a luke warm coffee and got everything just go up and refilled the milk container myself. Considering the cost of the breakfast $25 USD per person. Understand the time crunch between breakfast and lunch but they might consider closing earlier and giving staff more time in between. It’s better than forcing them to rush and better for guest NOT to have a poor start to their day.
AWFUL! Firstly, the staff don’t know what they’re doing. They deliberately took my payment twice, and only by chance did they admit to it (as I was checking out). The manger (Berry) didn’t even offer an apology until I asked for one. The rooms are basic at best, my bureau was smeared in what looked like years-old hair lacquer. At 10am on the day of my departure I was disturbed by staff asking when I was leaving (check out is noon). The only good think I can say about this place is that it’s close to the subway station and museums.
